Chapter 501 501: Time To Test It Out
Chapter 501 501: Time To Test It Out
Three cars drove into the warehouse, stopping a short distance away from the three vans that were on the opposite side.
The people with the vans arranged themselves in front of their vehicles, all of them armed.
Although they weren't brandishing their weapons at the newcomers, they were clearly putting their weapons on display as a sort of intimidation tactic for the other party.
The newcomers stepped out of their cars, all of them also armed.
One guy from each side stepped out from their side to approach each other.
"You got the stuff?" The person from the side with the cars asked.
The guy from the van didn't say anything at first as he stared at the other guy for a full minute.
I think that guy was trying to establish dominance or something.
I did my best to stay still as I watched the exchange happening below me while I'm hiding in the rafters.
The guy on the van side finally spoke, "The Credits first."
The other side also stared at him for a few moments and I wonder if this is just some kind of thug way to establish dominance before the guy raised his hand to gesture at one of the thugs behind him.
The thug went over to the guy before pulling out a Credit Chip and handing it to him before retreating back to his original spot.
"Right here. Now where's the weapons?"
I was thankfully spared from watching the other guy stay silent for another minute as he turned to nod at one of his own men.
The guy then moved to one of the vans and pulled open the side door, revealing several crates inside it.
That prompted several more thugs to approach the van as they pulled out the crates and carried them over to drop them beside their leader.
Ok, I think that's all we need.
"Lea," I whispered through the comms.
There was only a soft exhale coming from the other side of the call before the leader of the van's side suddenly jerked his head back.
Everyone watched as he fell backwards to crash onto the ground, his body twitching once before becoming completely still. There was a short pause before blood poured out from the back of his head, painting the ground underneath him red.
Silence reigned over the warehouse right before the people closest to the dead guy dropped the crate and lifted their guns to point at the other side.
The reaction was immediate as the other side responded by lifting their own guns in response.
I'm not sure who fired first but I'm pretty sure it was out of panic rather than an actual deliberate intent to shoot, but that was enough to set everyone off as the two sides started shooting at each other.
Just as planned~
The leader of thugs with the cars somehow managed to avoid getting shot as he ran all the way back to the sedans and took cover behind one of them, grabbing a gun from one of his men to start shooting back.
A few of the thugs had already been shot dead and the ones remaining are all hiding behind the cars.
Ok, the plan is working well so far… I honestly didn't think that they would be so eager to start shooting each other the moment someone got shot.
I thought that they might assume that they were being ambushed by a third party and attempt to convince the other side to work together or something.
Not like it would have mattered because we had a plan for that as well.
Time for phase two.
I looked over at where Amber was hiding behind some crates and she got the message immediately.
Two of those glass containers flew out from her hiding spot and went towards the vehicles on both sides.
The container broke right behind the thugs on both sides, exploding into a wall of fire behind them instead of in the middle of them.
A few of them let out shouts of concern and fear at the sudden appearance of the fire but they quickly recovered since it looked like whoever threw the fire had missed burning them.
Too bad for them… That was exactly where we wanted to aim.
The wall of fire was there not to burn them… It was to prevent them from running away.
I slid off the rafters and dropped down from the ceiling of the warehouse, falling straight towards one of the cars that the boss of this group was still hiding behind.
I braced myself right before I crashed down on top of the car, flattening the vehicle as the power armour I was wearing absorbed the impact of the fall for me.
The thugs that had been using the car I just smashed as cover gaped at my sudden appearance.
I don't blame them for being that shocked since I'm pretty sure I would react the same way if a power armour suddenly dropped from the ceiling and smashed down right in front of me.
Seriously, this made staying up there for two whole hours waiting for these idiots to show up worth it.
I turned my head towards the thugs that were looking at me in shock and my helmet very helpfully highlighted them with a red outline for me.
Alright, time to test this power armour out~ Time for you to fly!
I clenched my fist and punched it into the gut of the leader.
Splat!
I looked down at my arm that had punched through the guy's abdomen and shattered his spine to explode out from his back.
Ewwww! Fuck, fuck! I wanted to punch him flying! Not punch through his abdomen!! Yuck!
I shoved the guy off my arm, making a mental note to wash this armour later before turning to the thug beside him.
He tried to raise his gun at me but I raised my foot and kicked him in the chest before he could.
This time, I made sure to control my strength so I didn't splatter him immediately upon contact but properly sent him flying away.
He crashed into the crowd of thugs behind him and they all toppled like bowling pins.
Damn… This power armour really increases my strength by that much?
The shield on my armour flared to life as several of the thugs started shooting at me.
My eyes darted to the corner where I had instructed the AI to place the indicator that showed the shield's energy levels.
The bar decreased slightly and the number on top of the bar went from a hundred to ninety nine… And then stayed there without changing.
Despite the fact that pretty much everyone was already shooting at me, the shield bar stayed exactly where it was without moving.
In fact, I think the regeneration of the shield was faster than the damage they could do against it because I saw it pop back to a hundred percent for a moment before changing to ninety nine again. I could just stand here and do nothing and they would run out of bullets before the shield could even be breached…
Ries really outdid herself with this one huh?
It's just a shame that there's no weapons on this armour right now so I can only beat them up.
I leapt towards the next group of bandits that were hiding behind another car and punched the guy closest to me.
His eyes widened before he got blasted back from the punch, smashing against the side of the car with enough force to smash through the door of the car and flying out the other side, taking the other door with him.
The remaining two thugs behind the car saw their colleague flying and shot at me even more desperately.
No surrender huh? Not like I was planning on sparing them since the job was to kill them all.
I punched the second thug in the chest and he was blown back, crashing into the other thug behind him to fly back into the wall of fire.
Leaving those two to cook, I turned to the car and an idea came to me.
I bent down and tried to lift it up, finding the act really easy as I lifted the car up without any effort, almost like it was made of cardboard.
Lifting the car up above my head, I turned towards the thugs that were on the other side using the vans as cover and threw it at them.
They quickly scattered before the car smashed into one of the vans, the van being sent flying over the wall of fire while the car bounced to the side and flattened a few thugs that were unfortunate enough to stand there.
I then charged towards the two remaining vans, the thugs behind it trying to shoot at me while another thug climbed into the driver seat of one to try and drive off.
I braced my shoulder before ramming into the side of the second van, sending the automobile smashing straight into the last van and flipping both over into the fire.
With all the vehicles smashed or destroyed, the remaining thugs had nowhere else to hide or run to and were all looking up at me in fear.
Well~ Don't need to worry, I'll end this quickly~
