?Chapter 299: Chapter 202: Strong Feelings for You_3 Chapter 299: Chapter 202: Strong Feelings for You_3 “It’s pretty nice, otherwise Lina wouldn’t be showing it off every day,” Wen Ruan nodded, envy flashing in her eyes.
When they were buying a house, she and her parents had looked around Yan City for a whole two months.
They had seen all kinds of properties, and eventually chose Oasis Garden, a community that was affordable.
But the drawbacks were quite obvious: it was a bit out of the way, the buildings were large, the residences were close together, the floors were high, there were many units, and the living experience in the community wasn’t actually good.
By comparison, Yuanhe Mansion was much better.
Though it was a neighborhood that had been built for 10 years, it was well maintained.
Located in the heart of the city, it was surrounded by office buildings, malls, subways, and hospitals.
Arriving at Building 9, they pressed the intercom with visual display on the unit door and took the elevator straight to the 24th floor.
“Ding—” The elevator doors slowly opened.
A woman in a light-colored shirt and a skirt was standing in the corridor, smiling at them.
She was tall and slim, wearing rimless glasses, and had an aura of shrewdness and confidence.
“Lina,” “Sister Na!”
“Welcome, welcome! You must be boiling, come in and cool off with some air conditioning.”
They stepped into the spacious and bright living room.
Wen Qinqin looked around and asked, “Is your husband not home?”
“Ugh, his company has been so busy lately, he doesn’t have time even on weekends. I can’t manage by myself, so I ordered meals from a nearby hotel, they will be delivered soon.” Even though she sounded like she was complaining, Qiao Lina’s smile was exceptionally radiant.
Then she turned to look at Tang Song who was standing next to Wen Ruan, and asked in surprise, “Who is this?”
She had met Qinqin’s boyfriend Chen Hao before, but this young man was new to her.
Wen Ruan pursed her lips and took the initiative to introduce him: “He’s Tang Song, my friend. He just happened to come see me today, so we came over together.”
“Oh?” Qiao Lina raised her eyebrows, her gaze involuntarily drifting towards Tang Song, who was youthful, handsome, and possessed an effortless elegance.
She felt mixed emotions.
Since she and Wen Ruan were the same age and their families lived close to each other when they were young, comparisons were inevitable.
This young man clearly seemed very close to Wen Ruan; he could very well be her potential boyfriend.
Admittedly, he was really good-looking, tall and handsome, quite eye-catching.
Qiao Lina felt a pang of envy, then a bit of relief.
Her own husband wasn’t bad either; while he wasn’t outstandingly handsome, he was capable, successful in business, and had bought such a nice house.
“Congratulations on the new house. I can’t just mooch off your meal, here, take this,” Wen Ruan said with a smile as she handed over her gift bag.
Qiao Lina accepted the gift bag with a surprised expression, exclaiming, “Wow, LV? For real!?.”
“It’s just a small scarf, I wouldn’t give you a handbag,” Wen Ruan retorted.
Qiao Lina held the gift box tightly, her face lighting up with joy as she said, “That’s still really nice, so generous! Thank you, Wen Ruan! Come, have a seat on the couch and rest for a bit. There are cold drinks in the fridge, take whatever you want, don’t be shy, just like it’s your own home.”
Chen Hao quietly set down the tea leaves he was holding and maintained a blank expression.
After chatting for a while, Qiao Lina led Wen Ruan and Wen Qinqin on a tour of the apartment.
One of the top-tier school districts in Yan City with parking available, the neighborhood property management and greenery are quite nice.
A spacious 130-square-meter apartment with three bedrooms, a regular layout, warmly fashionable decorations, an east-facing balcony that offers a panoramic city view at a glance.
Sofa, furniture, appliances—all of high quality, the whole place looks impressive.
Owning such an apartment in the heart of Yan City was proof enough that she lived a very comfortable life.
Seeing the envious expressions on her two cousins’ faces, Qiao Lina’s smile grew wider, and she felt extremely proud inside.
After finally getting to a good place in life, it felt entirely unsatisfactory not to let these relatives know about it.
Furthermore, since she was a child, she had always been overshadowed by Wen Ruan in studies, looks, and figure, but now at last, she had something to be envied by her.
It felt as cool as eating ice on a hot summer day, utterly refreshing!
Sitting on the sofa was Tang Song, drinking an iced Coke and pondering Wen Ruan thoughtfully.
His girlfriend seemed particularly interested in the house.
Perhaps he could use this as a breakthrough point.
…
12 o’clock at noon.
The ordered meal finally arrived, covering a large table.
“Dong dong dong—” A sudden knock on the door.
Qiao Lina hurried to open the door, smiling, “Xiaoman, you’ve finally come, just in time for lunch.”
Then, a young girl about 20 years old entered with a cute short haircut, sweetly saying, “Good afternoon, Sister Wen Ruan, Sister Qinqin, Sister Zi Qi.”
“Xiaoman.”
“Xiaoman, come sit over here.”
Chen Xiaoman bounced over to the dining table, her eyes pausing on Tang Song seated next to Wen Ruan, blushing as she averted her gaze.
Turning to Chen Hao, she said, “Sister Qinqin, this must be your boyfriend, he looks even handsomer than in the photos on the friend circle.”
“Flattery will get you a bubble tea later,” Wen Qinqin laughed, “This is Chen Hao, my aunt’s daughter, Chen Xiaoman.”
“Hello Xiaoman,” Chen Hao nodded in greeting.
“Hehe,” Xiaoman smiled and glanced again at Tang Song’s spot, batting her eyelashes and saying, “Sister Wen Ruan, is this handsome guy Gu Cheng? I’ve always heard he’s remarkable, but I didn’t expect him to be this handsome, even more so than the heartthrob of our school!”
Tang Song raised an eyebrow, looking at Wen Ruan with confusion.
Wen Ruan’s smile instantly froze, and she explained in a low voice, “Gu Cheng was someone my family introduced to me for matchmaking, but I haven’t had much interaction with him.”
Upon hearing this, Chen Xiaoman exclaimed “Ah,” quickly covering her mouth, “I’m sorry, I’ve been at school and don’t know much about Sister Wen Ruan’s situation; I was just blathering.”
“Mhm,” Tang Song nodded calmly.
Wen Ruan’s heart tightened, and she instinctively grabbed his hand, whispering, “Don’t overthink it, I’ll explain to you later.”
An intense sense of crisis made it impossible for her to conceal her emotions.
On the other side, Chen Xiaoman bit her lip, realizing she had caused a big mess, and shuddered at the thought of Sister Wen Ruan’s formidable punch.
She quickly took out her phone, snapped a photo, and shared it to the family group chat, hoping to make amends for her blunder.
