Devil Slave (Satan system)

Chapter 1033: F*ck Around And Find Out...

Chapter 1033: F*ck Around And Find Out...

Lenny wanted to dodge the set of traps that threatened to encase him, but he could not move; the poison had kicked in. He had reduced his power level to match hers, and now even his cells were affected.

The trap encased him totally, and blood splashed outward in all directions in a terrible display. Nana chuckled loudly as she rose from her hidden spot on the ground. As she approached his location, a smirk spread across her face. Blood stained the ground everywhere.

"I use the Hunting System, born of the Goddess Sheba after she absorbed her husband, the God of the Catch, for being unfaithful. My talent lies in catching prey, especially men. Your kind are the most predictable. Always trying to solve problems head-on."

She approached the trap and then waved her hand in the air, seemingly plucking a spider thread. The trap undid itself, retracting just the way it was before. However, when the trap was undone, her prey was nowhere to be found. But that was not all; there was no more blood on the ground. This was unbelievable to her.

Just then, she noticed something was wrong but could not put a finger on it. Then she heard a whisper by her neck, "Are you confused, or have you not realized it yet?" Immediately, she turned about, but there was no one there.

Her breathing became rough and hard, and she wanted nothing more than to escape. She did not know why, but something was just not right.

She kicked against the ground, rushing up to the trees, hiding again as she merged with the foliage.

However, the breeze blew, and with it came Lenny’s voice again by her ear, "You are very bad at hiding, you know!" he commented cheerfully. She rushed, trying to hide in different places—in the mud on the ground, up a tree, and even making her skin green like the leaves—but she could always feel him close to her.

All of a sudden, this place she was so proud of as her domain no longer felt safe. It was as if a blade was always on her neck with every turn she made. Panicking, she rushed out of the forest area, seeking refuge against a mountain.

Nana’s breaths came in ragged gasps as she pressed her back against the cold, unyielding rock. She scanned the forest edge, her eyes wide and frantic. The sensation of being hunted, which she had so often inflicted on others, now enveloped her in a suffocating grip.

"What’s the matter, Nana?" Lenny’s voice echoed softly, seeming to come from everywhere and nowhere. "Not so confident now, are we?"

Nana’s heart pounded in her chest. She knew she had to calm down, regain her composure. But the tables had turned so swiftly and completely that her mind was a whirl of fear and confusion.

Lenny stepped out from the shadows of the trees, his movements slow and deliberate. He was no longer the prey; he was the predator. His eyes gleamed with a cold, calculating intensity. "Did you really think a few traps and some poison would be enough to take me down?"

Nana’s eyes darted around, looking for an escape, a weapon, anything to give her an advantage. But Lenny’s presence was overpowering, his confidence unshakable. She felt cornered, outmatched in a way she had never experienced before.

"You see, Nana," Lenny continued, his voice calm and even, "the mistake you made was underestimating me. You thought I was just another target, another notch on your belt. But I’ve learned, I’ve adapted, and now... I’m the one in control."

With a sudden, fluid motion, Lenny was upon her, his hand gripping her throat with a vice-like grip. Nana gasped, struggling against his strength, but it was futile.

Lenny leaned in close, his breath warm against her ear. "This forest, your traps... they’re impressive. But you forgot one thing, or rather, you do not know: I’m not a mere mortal. I’m something... far more dangerous."

Nana’s eyes widened with a mixture of fear and realization. She had underestimated Lenny, and now she was paying the price. She could feel his power, his resolve, and she knew that this time, she was the one who had been caught.

With a final, desperate effort, she tried to summon her strength, to fight back. But Lenny’s grip tightened, and the world began to fade to black. As consciousness slipped away, she heard his voice one last time, a whisper in the darkness.

"Goodbye, Nana. You were a worthy adversary, but in the end, the hunter becomes prey..."

And at the moment she died, she opened her eyes again, only to find Lenny standing a distance in front of her.

He had a smirk at the side of his lips. From the look of things, they had just signed the contract for their hunting competition. They were still standing at the lava area with the mountains all around them.

She was confused, her hand instinctively touching her neck; after all, she remembered that she had died. She fell on her ass, and then she raised her head to look at him in absolute confusion as to what was going on.

On the other hand, Lenny raised a brow at her as he smiled. "The forest area is your domain. Won’t you go there?" he asked, teasing her.

However, she struggled on the ground, trying to both stand and back off, but her legs, gripped by fear, failed her. Lenny smiled as he suddenly moved, disappearing from her front and reappearing behind her, close to her neck. He stroked her hair to one side, like an affectionate lover.

"Nana, user of the Hunter system? Have you figured it out yet?" he mocked.

Nana’s mind raced, trying to comprehend what had just happened. She remembered the traps, the poison, the sensation of her life slipping away. Yet here she was, alive, but the memory of her death still vivid. Her breaths came in shallow gasps, her body trembling with a mix of fear and confusion.

"How...?" she stammered, unable to form a complete sentence. Her pride and confidence had been shattered, replaced by a gnawing terror she had never felt before.

Lenny’s smirk widened, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You’re not the only one with tricks up their sleeve, Nana. You see, I have my own tricks... gifts of soaking myself in a world that operates by mental manipulation, and it allows me to play with reality in ways you can’t even begin to imagine."

He moved to face her again, crouching down to her level, his gaze locking onto hers. "You thought you could trap me, take me? But the truth is, you never stood a chance. I wanted to see how you’d react, to test your limits. And now, here we are."

Nana’s eyes darted around, looking for an escape, but there was none. She was at Lenny’s mercy, and she knew it. The realization hit her hard, and she felt a wave of helplessness wash over her.

"Get up, Nana," Lenny commanded, his voice cold and authoritative. "We’re not done yet."

With great effort, Nana pushed herself to her feet, her legs still shaky. She couldn’t understand how Lenny had reversed everything. Her pride as a hunter wouldn’t allow her to be humiliated like this.

"Why are you doing this?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Lenny stood up, towering over her. "Because, Nana, I’m not just your prey. I’m your worst nightmare.

Because you see Curiosity is a virtue if tended to with care, but there is a negative reciprocity nascent in those who dare thoughtlessly."

He strolled around her as if going around in circles, "its the prophecy of idiocy which honestly is an insidious thing, but very much a necessary evil. Nevertheless, because they can never be less stupidity without a form of education that his enforced upon individuals who fail to prepare for their situations."

She looked at him puzzled his words in relation to the situation was too much for her to comprehend.

He could tell this. And so he paused in front of her. "Basically, Fuck around, and find out!"

Lenny turned and walked away back to his work on the body of the Centaur siblings. His Hands clasped behind his back.

She was surprised by this. But could not help but voice out. "Where are you going.... what about the Contract!?"

She voiced.

"What do you mean? You are already dead!"

It was only now that she realized that blood was dripping from her orifices.

And then she slumped to the side. Her eyes, ears, mouth and nose all bloody.

The truth was that from the very beginning, she never stood a chance. Nana believed that the competition between her and Lenny started the moment the contract was signed. What she did not know was that for an assassin, the assasination began a long time ago.

One’s blood was needed to sign the blood contract. After which the contract would rush into the bodies of the participants. This was contract with Lenny’s blood on it.

And Lenny had perfect control over blood cells outside his body.

All the while, all Nana had been seeing and experiencing was in her mind, illusions placed within her subconscious by Lenny’s blood that formed a rune in a her brain. When he was done enjoying the show, he snapped his fingers. And that was it.

Nana had been assassinated even before she began her hunt.
