Chapter 1038: Durgia’s Plan
Chapter 1038: Durgia’s Plan
As Luca’s cries gradually quieted and he drifted into an uneasy sleep, the immense dark portal he had unconsciously summoned began to waver and shrink. The remaining netherbeasts, unable to return in time, crumbled into dust as the portal closed, their essence scattering into the ether. The once-turbulent sky grew still again, and the echoes of the epic battle faded into silence.
Durgia’s frown deepened as she watched the portal vanish. "He is too young, his bloodline is not strong enough... he can’t even sustain them in the world of creation... Too bad. But if he had at least eaten the human meat, he would have produced more power," she mused to herself.
Lady Vinegar, limping from her injury, stepped forward with a mix of pain and determination. "What did you do to my son? He... he should not be able to do that," she demanded, her voice trembling with a blend of fear and confusion.
Durgia turned to her, maintaining a gentle, almost condescending smile. "It seems like you know nothing of your said son. Don’t worry, I don’t mind enlightening you a bit. Luca is the last son of the Solomon bloodline. The same and only bloodline to sign the accords with the Knights of THE Nether realm, the world of the Entity... Darkness."
Lady Vinegar’s frown deepened as she processed Durgia’s words. She had always considered the tales of the creation of witches and the Solomon bloodline to be mere myths, stories passed down through generations without any basis in reality. But now, faced with the undeniable power Luca had just unleashed, doubt crept into her mind.
Durgia continued, her voice taking on a lecturing tone. "It is said that whenever any of the Solomon’s bloodline is in trouble and their deep negative emotions connect with the Nether, the knights are required by contract to aid." She paused, a satisfied smile playing on her lips. "It seems that it is true."
Lady Vinegar nor Durgia knew that a long time ago, something similar had happened to Luca’s true mother, Glenn. However, back then, she had been Ciri, without the souls that had merged into one and formed her body.
Back then, ciri had been responsible for the death of an entire country, and Ella had come to take her life, but discovered the value of her bloodline and took her as a lover and a pet, wanting to use her power to free the fallen angels.
Lady Vinegar’s eyes widened as the significance of Durgia’s words sank in. The history she had dismissed as legend was now manifesting through her son, a living testament to the ancient accords. She struggled to reconcile this revelation with the boy she had been raising, the innocent child now revealed to hold such formidable power.
"But... the Solomon bloodline... the accords... it can’t be true," she whispered, more to herself than to Durgia.
Durgia’s smile widened, a glint of triumph in her eyes. "Oh, but it is true. And Luca’s power is the key to our victory. With his potential, we can reclaim what was lost and vanquish our enemies."
Lady Vinegar felt a surge of protectiveness for Luca, mingled with a growing sense of dread. "I won’t let you use him," she said, her voice gaining strength. "He is my son, not a tool for your schemes."
Durgia’s expression softened, though her eyes remained calculating. "You misunderstand, my dear Vinegar. We are not using him. We are guiding him, helping him realize his true potential. For his sake, and ours. You see, a war is coming. A human has claimed name to a primary plane. What was his name again? ...hmmm."
"...Lenny Tales..." Lady Vinegar whispered. Barely holding back from saying that Lenny was the child’s father.
"Huh... you have heard of him. Good! Then again, the cosmos did.
Normally, when any of the Demon royal families claim a primary plane, a little rearranging of power has to happen.
But you see, not even the principalities have shown up, only sending over little toys here and there with congratulating gifts. No True bloodshed. Haven’t you wondered why?"
Lady Vinegar shook head.
"Its because they can’t. You see, many peopledont know this. But killing a morningstar is not so easy. Even for the primordial demons."
"What are you saying?"
"Simple! There are wounded, if not dead. You see, the war with the Morningstar happened outside time and space. If the primordial demons are still alive, they still cannot leave. Not until they heal fully. As such, the principalities are left in charge. Right now, the demon royal familes exist only on reputation of their lords.
Of course, the Principalities are also not easy to deal with, having power at the Evening star Realm.
Nevertheless, they are scared."
"Scared?"
"Yes, scared! Scared to leave their territories. Once one of them mlves, all the others will move. And once forces on that level show their power, death will have a most bountiful harvest.
Of course, I and my sisters have our own plans for that. But that is by the way. Regardless, the nether is a place created to swallow creation. We are going to ensure that it does just that."
"But nether creatures can survive here long. Unless..." She paused in realization.
Dugia smiled, "i see you have figured it out."
"You want to summon the Knights of the Nether!"
Durgia nodded, "only a small piece of the plan. After all, they are the only thing that can fight the principalities on equal grounds...." She smiled.
As the weight of the situation settled over them, the tension in the room grew palpable. Durgia’s ambitions clashed with Lady Vinegar’s maternal instincts, the future of the witches and the fate of Luca hanging in the balance.
In that moment, the bridge of the ship became a crucible for the forces at play, with the echoes of ancient pacts and newfound power reverberating in the air.
Outside, the aftermath of the battle lay still, the gluttonous flies reduced to nothing more than remnants of their once-ferocious swarm. The witches’ ship hovered above, a sentinel over the world below, poised on the precipice of a new era shaped by the power of a young boy and the machinations of those who sought to harness it.
