Chapter 1040: Mother’s Love 2
Chapter 1040: Mother’s Love 2
Lady vinegar, still holding sleeping Luca, took several steps back, and by now, the witches around had already stood to their feet. Their power blazing.
However, they had not yet attacked. After all, Luca was in her hands.
Durgia on the other hand, hurt, was bent over to the side. Slowly she stood up. The flesh that made up her face had been pealed off along with her ear.
lady vinegar spitted to the side. "I had doubted if you were the real Durgia. After all, legends have it that she had lost her skin for the gift of knowledge. But it seems that the legend were true."
As she said this, Durgia stood up to face Lady Vinegar. What she had removed accidentally was only fake flesh of face that had been peeled off one of her experimental humans.
Her was none existent. Only red exposed muscles where skin should have been.
"Damn... You are ugly!" Lady Vinegar commented further.
Durgia frowned, her face even looking worse than before now that her anger was paramount. "How dare you... worm!" she floated lightly into the air, "Do you think that you have what it takes to stand me? I have survived for thousands of years and crushed demons, and beasts, your pitiful kind bow and worship!"
However, as she did, she noticed a particular look on the face of Lady Vinegar. It was a smirk. As if she was looking at a clone.
Durgia, in anger, motioned with her hand, and an invisible force grabbed Lady Vinegar, by the neck, "you foolish insect... What is so funny, your death?"
Lady Vinegar, struggling, slowly opened her mouth to talk, "So its true, you can dominate laws but not magic."
Durgia raised a brow at her, wondering what had brought that up.
And then she noticed something within Lady Vinegar’s teeth. It was a shiny object. It looked really familiar. Instinctively, she touched her ear. And then the realization hit her in the head.
However, before she could say anything, Lady Vinegar crushed it between her teeth.
A blinding light suddenly exploded from the earring in Lady Vinegar’s mouth, instantly illuminating the dim interior of the ship. The light expanded rapidly, creating a shockwave that blasted everyone in the vicinity away.
Witches were thrown against the walls, their cries of surprise and pain drowned out by the roar of the mystical energy. The light continued to expand, enveloping Lady Vinegar and Luca, surrounding them in a protective aura.
When the light finally subsided, the ship was in utter chaos. The force of the explosion had left debris scattered everywhere, and witches were slowly rising to their feet, dazed and disoriented. Durgia, her face a mask of fury and pain, pushed herself up, her exposed muscles glistening with blood.
Lady Vinegar and Luca were nowhere to be seen.
"Find them!" Durgia screamed, her voice echoing through the ship. "Search every corner of this vessel! I want that wretch and the prince found!"
The witches sprang into action, their power flaring as they began scanning and searching the ship. But within moments, one of the witches, her face pale with fear, spoke up. "Mother Witch! The entire ship scan says they are not on board."
Durgia’s anger flared even brighter, her eyes blazing with a terrifying light. "What do you mean they’re not on the ship? Keep searching!"
But before she could continue her tirade, another witch at the control of the bridge called out urgently, "Mother Witch! We have a problem!"
Durgia turned, her fury directed at the new interruption. "What problem could possibly be more important than finding that wretch and the prince?"
The witch at the bridge swallowed nervously, her eyes wide with fear. "Mother Witch, we have been transported to the heart of the Territory of the Royal SATAN Demon Family of Wrath."
Durgia’s eyes widened in shock, her anger momentarily replaced by disbelief. "What?! How is that possible?"
The witch at the bridge shook her head, her voice trembling. "I don’t know, Mother Witch. But we are surrounded by their forces. We are in their territory."
Durgia clenched her fists, her mind racing. The Royal SATAN Demon Family of Wrath was one of the most powerful and dangerous factions in the demonic realms.
Being in their territory was a death sentence, especially without the protection of her full magical arsenal.
"Prepare for battle," she ordered, her voice cold and determined. "And keep searching for Lady Vinegar and the prince. They can’t have gone far."
As the witches braced themselves for the impending conflict, Durgia’s mind raced.
She needed to find Lady Vinegar and Luca, not just for the boy’s power, but for her own survival. The balance of power had shifted dramatically, and she would need every ounce of her cunning and strength to navigate the treacherous waters ahead.
Meanwhile, the blinding light appeared again, and Lady Vinegar and Luca found themselves in a strange land with perpetually dark skies.
They had materialized before a solitary traveler making his way through these desolate, dry lands. The man, his face obscured by a scarf, moved with sure and deliberate steps. The sudden appearance of the pair immediately put him on high alert, ready for battle. But as he looked closely, his eyes widened in shock, and he rushed over.
Pulling away the scarf to reveal his face, Lady Vinegar recognized him. Despite her pain, she managed a weak smile. "Basketface!" she called out, her voice barely a whisper. Her body was riddled with wounds, bleeding from multiple places.
Basketface, her father’s butler back on the eighth Earth, stared in disbelief.
After the destruction caused by Lenny in Waterfell City, he had made the decision to return to the underworld. And now, his young mistress was before his eyes, battered and bleeding.
Seeing him, Lady Vinegar’s body gave in to the overwhelming fatigue, and she passed out. BasketFace caught her just in time, his face etched with concern and determination. He quickly assessed her injuries, realizing the severity of her condition.
Luca clung to his unconscious mother, his small face filled with fear and confusion.
Basketface looked at the child in her arms. His nose caught scent of a very familiar smell from the boy’s body.
He frowned in realization. However, he could see how tightly she held the boy even though she had lost consciousness.
There was no one that knew her better than him. He sighed gently as he lifted Lady Vinegar into his arms, his mind racing with thoughts of how to save her. With a determined look, he glanced around, then started moving swiftly, knowing that every second counted.
"You arrived at just the right time, lady Vinegar, after all, I was just about to go visit your mother..."
