Chapter 1050: The City Of Perfectus

Chapter 1050: The City Of Perfectus

As the star began to glow, its light radiated in a mesmerizing array of colors, pulsating gently with a warm, welcoming energy. The ancient voice echoed through the desolate city, clear and resonant: "Welcome, Princesses Vine and Gar."

The ground beneath the star shifted, revealing a hidden stairwell made entirely of large, translucent crystals that shimmered in the dim light. Basketface carefully picked up Lady Vinegar and the sleeping child, Luca, and stepped onto the first crystal step. As he descended, the star above them slowly closed, resuming its natural, unassuming form.

The stairwell spiraled downward, each step illuminating with a soft glow as Basketface’s foot touched it. The air grew cooler, the atmosphere changing subtly as they moved deeper into the hidden world below.

At the base of the stairwell, the true city of Perfectus was revealed. It was a breathtaking sight, a testament to the ingenuity and resilience of the ancient High Elves.

The underground city thrived with an artificially created atmosphere that mimicked the surface world. During the day, a giant ball of fire, crafted from the Laws of the Cosmos, acted as the sun, bathing the city in a warm, golden light. At night, the sky transformed, stars twinkling above in a perfect replica of the night sky.

Basketface continued his descent, finally reaching the end of the crystalline stairway. Waiting for him was a row of elves, all clad in long white robes, each one as stunning as the next, both male and female. Their serene faces held an air of expectancy, and their eyes watched Basketface with curiosity and concern.

Standing at the forefront was their queen. Her initial smile faded into a look of alarm as she saw the state Basketface was in and the child he carried. She rushed forward, her golden hair flowing behind her, followed by several guards clad in shining golden armor.

Basketface gently laid Lady Vinegar down and removed the blanket covering her. "I don’t know what happened, but she is in a really bad state," he said, his voice laced with worry.

The queen knelt beside Lady Vinegar, her expression softening with maternal concern. "Oh, my sweet child," she murmured. She examined Lady Vinegar’s wounds, her face growing more serious. "This is the power of law. Her body cannot yet carry such power. Quickly, bring her to the Eternal Spring. Another day and she would have been dead."

The guards sprang into action, carefully lifting Lady Vinegar and carrying her towards the heart of the city. The queen turned to Basketface, her eyes filled with gratitude and concern. "You have done well to bring her here. We will do everything we can to save her."

This underground city was so beautiful and enchanting that Basketface looked very out of place. As he passed through the high city walls, he could tell that the place was even more beautiful than before. But he did not have time to enjoy it. He had just heard that Lady Vinegar had only so much time to live.

They were taken behind the palace, a grand structure showcasing the incredible artistic capabilities of these people. In a secluded area accessible only to royals, the Queen brought Lady Vinegar to the Eternal Spring. The water in this place shimmered lightly, as if containing stars within it.

The Queen explained that this water, known as the Eternal Spring, was a whiff of breath from the One-Above-All, a remnant of his words found at the edge of creation. Who found it was not known, but it was the most valuable treasure of the High Elves. It was also the reason for the war, as the royal Demon families, ever claiming and seizing treasures around the cosmos, heard of it and came to take it.

But she had surrendered only a cup of it, tricking them into believing it had been hidden at a particular side of the city, while it had been here all along.

Gently, she soaked Lady Vinegar in the waters, and then it began. "This water is law. To cleanse the law that holds her body hostage, we must fight it with another law. Hopefully, it works."

The glowing water shimmered as a power seemed to rush into Lady Vinegar’s body. The Queen did not mind Basketface coming with her, but when she turned to the child on his back, she frowned. "I am not sure about the details, but I believe she mothers this child."

The Queen was surprised. "I have a grandson?" She immediately took the child from Basketface’s back. However, after one close look at him, she shook her head. "He is not of Elven bloodline. Although a hybrid, he is..." She frowned, waving her hand. A soldier rushed over with a staff in hand. The staff was placed on Luca’s head, and it glowed softly, emitting a low light. Then, a sound like a low boom was heard, and the light was sent into the sky in a rainbow-like spectrum for all the city to see.

The Queen was left in shock as she looked at the child. "A full spectrum? The elves in our land are graded for talent based on the rainbow spectrum. The last person to have a full pure spectrum was the All High Father, founder of our perfect civilization. After him, there has been no other. Even I have only achieved five colors, the closest to his level of potential, but this child..."

At the moment, those in the city who knew what this meant were in awe and rejoiced. However, the Queen, as she looked further at the child, could not help but frown. "No wonder, a half-born, born of the Legendary Solomon Bloodline and... the aura of The Morningstar? impossible!"

Immediately, she dropped Luca to the ground. With a fierce gaze, the staff in her hand became a golden spear, and she rushed to stab the child in the heart. But just before she could, a figure dived in front, the blade almost piercing through. It was none other than Lady Vinegar.

Her body was still in a very bad shape, but while she had been receiving her healing, her motherly instinct had kicked in, and she dove to protect Luca.

Lady Vinegar raised her head weakly, still dripping in blood, "please... please, don’t hurt my boy. As she did, tears fell from her eyes and blood from her worn out body, and some of that blood and tears, fell on the Luca. The child gently opened his eyes and then he looked at his mother.

"Mama!" he called out as he hugged her back. It was a tight hug and the queen could not help but hesitate, her deep blue eyes, wavering at a cross road.

After all, things were far worse than they seemed.

Firstly, the Morningstar who had been the head of the Royal Demon houses was an enemy. An enemy that had sent his demons to destroy her city when she had only been a little girl, thousands of years ago.

It had been a very long time, but she still remembered it. It was the reason they were still in hiding till this day.

She had sworn revenge on him, and those that took her home.

Luca, having the aura of the Morningstar was something most unexpected. But it was an opportunity to take a piece of that revenge.

At the same time, there was another reason. She could see the rune marks on the boy’s body. She did not know who drew them. But whosoever it was knew the value of the Solomon bloodline that the child carried.

And this person had marked the child. If she did not kill the child now, then it might amount to a lot of trouble in the nearby future. this was trouble that she did not want for her people.

The simplest and swiftest decision was to kill the child.

But the look in Lady vinegar’s eyes was one that brought back a lot of memories to her. After all, she remembered when she had delivered a baby girl for her lesser demon she had a fling with during her earlier years when she was very rebellious.

Back then, her own mother had this same spear over her head as she laid on the ground over her daughter born to her with different pupil colors.

Right now, to her, it seemed as if history was repeating itself.

The Queen sighed. "Prepare the Alter, and open the store house. We have a ritual to perform, and fast too. "

The Soldiers in armor nodded and immediately did as she instructed.

Meanwhile, Lady Vinegar, washed over with relief, fainted on the ground. Young luca, held her tight, not letting her go.

"I hope I do not regret this!" she muttered lowly.

....

Meanwhile, at another part of the cosmos. Durgia and her witches were having the greatest face off they had ever experienced.

After all, they had appeared within the Satan Family of Wrath’s territory.

The battle was not an easy one...

(Author’s note: See, the plot thickens even more!)
