Chapter 1057: He Is Irresistible (Allure Of The Morningstar)
Both the old elf and Lenny looked up at the man. He was a bear beast man, tall, huge, and menacing in presence. Lenny glanced his way and then continued his conversation with the old man, pretending he hadn’t seen the bear beast. The man’s frown deepened at the perceived slight.
"You can’t be that pretty and not have a good boyfriend to make you feel good. So what about it? Let me screw you..." the bear beast man sneered. "We call it a... Winwin situation Huh!"
Before he could finish speaking, the sharp, sickening sound of a blade tearing through flesh interrupted him. The bear beast man looked down in shock. His manhood lay on the ground, a lump of flesh wiggling and spitting blood onto the floor.
A guttural scream erupted from the bear beast man, filled with agony and panic. His eyes widened with pain and fury, the primal howl echoing through the lounge. He stumbled back, clutching at the bloody stump, his breath coming in ragged, pained gasps. The other contestants momentarily paused their hedonistic activities to glance over, their faces a mix of horror and amusement.
But then, through the haze of pain, the bear beast’s eyes hardened with sudden resolve. He bared his teeth, a growl rumbling in his chest. "I know you are strong in the After Truth, but in the Before Truth, you are weak," he spat out, his voice a mix of pain and determination.
With that, his massive form seemed to blur and disappear, a trick of speed and ethereal movement. He aimed for Lenny with another attack, this time in the soul realm.
The air around them crackled with energy, and a cold, unsettling chill spread through the room as the bear beast’s spirit lunged toward Lenny, intent on delivering a soul-shattering blow. After all, his soul was blue.
Lenny’s senses heightened, feeling the shift in the spiritual plane. The cold sensation prickled his skin, and a faint, eerie whispering filled his ears.
The bear beast man’s spiritual form loomed large and monstrous, a shadowy figure with eyes burning with vengeful fury. The lounge, now filled with tension, seemed to grow darker, the lights dimming as the bear beast’s malevolent spirit closed in on Lenny.
The old elf man at the side knew the bear beast man’s words held some truth. Everyone’s soul level had been announced, and Lenny’s was particularly low—just at the yellow level, the minimum requirement for joining the competition. Although Lenny possessed incredible physical strength and a deep understanding of rune formations, he was believed to be weak in matters of the soul, at least according to the old man’s assessment.
As soon as the bear beast man entered the soul realm, he reappeared almost immediately. This time, he was coughing up a mix of blood. His body looked burnt, with patches of skin and hair falling off him. He stared at Lenny in shock, his eyes wide with surprise, "Poi...son!" he barely muttered through the pain as his body continued to peel away—skin, then muscles—before he collapsed to the ground, dead.
The old man glanced at the corpse, then back at Lenny, who hadn’t moved an inch. The others in the lounge, momentarily distracted by the commotion, looked over but soon resumed their revelry.
The corpse on the ground slowly melted, turning into a grotesque mix of goo and paste.
At that moment, Commander Headbreak entered the room. He was the same commander who had previously hunted Lenny. Headbreak walked over to Lenny, glancing at the decaying corpse beside him.
He frowned but chose not to comment on the scene before him. Instead, he turned to Lenny, his expression stern. "Come with me," he ordered, before turning and leaving the room.
Lenny rose, his expression calm and inscrutable. The old elf watched him with a mix of awe and curiosity. As Lenny followed Commander Headbreak out of the lounge, the air seemed to hold a tangible tension reminding all of the deadly capabilities hidden behind Lenny’s unassuming exterior.
As Lenny left the lounge, the first thing he saw was the Wyrm of Souls, the same Jin Beast he had encountered before. Instinctively, he tensed, ready to attack, but the demon commander waved his hand dismissively. "She won’t attack."
Despite the commander’s assurance, the creature kept screeching at Lenny, its eyes fixated on him as if it had found prey it desperately wanted to devour. The demon commander frowned, puzzled by his pet’s unusual behavior. Nevertheless, he continued to lead Lenny down the winding paths.
Eventually, they arrived before two large, golden-plated doors. Two demons, each at the peak of the Greater Demon realm, stood guard. They nodded in acknowledgment as Lenny approached. The doors creaked open, and Commander Headbreak motioned for Lenny to enter.
Lenny shot him a suspicious gaze but complied, stepping into the room. As the doors closed behind him, Lenny took in his surroundings. The room was exquisitely decorated, exuding a sense of opulence and refinement. The air was filled with a delicate fragrance, reminiscent of exotic flowers, mingling with the faint scent of incense. The walls were adorned with intricate tapestries depicting celestial landscapes, and the floor was covered with plush, ornate carpets in rich hues of crimson and gold. Elegant chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting a warm, golden light that bathed the room in a serene glow.
Lenny’s senses were momentarily soothed by the luxurious ambiance, but then he heard a faint groaning sound. Turning to his right, he saw Cain, still caged, with chains all over his body, in one corner of the room. The sight of Cain’s suffering brought a twinge of unease.
And then a light, melodious voice broke the silence, "We are over here, champion."
Lenny turned and saw them—the Sisters of Eve. They stood together, their presence radiating an ethereal beauty and power. Their eyes gleamed with a mixture of curiosity and amusement as they regarded Lenny. Each sister had an aura that seemed to shimmer, blending seamlessly with the elegance of the room.
However, the most amusing thing was that, both of them had changed clothes, wearing little to nothing on.
