Chapter 1090: A Little About Hell
Chapter 1090: A Little About Hell
Athena waited patiently. Even though it took days, and she was very hungry, she did not give up. After all, with what she had done inside the head of that rank 6 hell beast, she was sure that it was going to return.
In the mean time, Athena reviewed what she knew about this place. After the time she met Virgil and he touched her forehead, she had been fed with a lot of information about this place.
Hell was an incredibly large place. of all the primary planes, the only place that was as large as it was, was actually heaven.
Also, unlike the other primary planes, it was not a sphere. Rather, it existed at the end of creation. And was in a state of ever growth, always having more space to accommodate the leftover spoilage of the universe as a whole.
Yes! It was not just human souls that suffered in this place. The only thing was that Athena had not been so fortunate enough to have gone that deep. In fact, of the nine layers of hell, she had only gone two layers of hell.
The first was this place were this nest of Hell beasts lived.
The second was when the portal leading to the cave carrying the aborted babies.
According to the knowledge she had received from Virgil, Hell was so huge that they were pocket portals like the one she had used leading into different levels of it.
However, a portal leading to a level of a higher number could only be found on an immediate lower level. It was for this reason that it was ranked.
The levels of hell used to be ruled by the primordial demons, each taking up a layer of hell.
However, they left for greener pastures, leaving behind two families, the devils who had acted as police of the Demon families and the Laviathans who were sealed within their home.
Not all levels of hell were the same. Some were far harsher than others, and in truth these surface level was actually the most comfortable. They were levels that made the surface of the sun look like it was winter and levels that burned only souls by feeding them back with the justification of their own suffering, constantly generating its torture of souls as a result of their personal condemnation.
Hell was a very wide expansive space, Virgil in his many hundreds of years in this place had not explored even half of its full length.
Also, it carried far more mysterious creatures than the Hell beasts. Rumors even had it that some entities called it their home.
Of course any entity that would call this place home must be a nightmare within nightmares, but it was so.
Aside, basic information on where what was, or where not to go, virgil also passed unto her knowledge on reading the runes.
Thinking back to all these gifts he had given her, Athena had a feeling that what she might be giving back in return might be at least ten times over.
Then again, she had no choice. But she was indeed an observant person and had noticed that when she had been running for her life, Virgil had been there, but on arriving at this ancient city like structure where she met the Primordial hell beasts, he had gone.
Even now, he had not come again. Especially considering the fact that he had said that she only had about a month to stop the devils, she expected him to come and kick her ass into work.
She removed the thought from her head for the moment. After all, they were other more important things to thing about.
A phoenix was a creature of fire. It was one of the most unique Hell beasts in the whole world and was considered to be quite rare.
So rare that it was actually a wonder how someone as low level as the Governor of Waterfell city had gotten his hands on one, and then was even willing to use it as bait for his children.
After all, if he had lost the Phoenix heart back then, it would have been an incredible boost to his enemies. And If he was actually gifted such a thing, who was that great individual that had the guts to gift out such an item.
While she was in thought, the Phoenix, captured was brought in. It was wrapped entirely in webbings and was brought by an hell beast that looked like a spider with wings.
And then came the rank six hell beast that had led them forth.
Athena stood to her feet. She had managed to send this creature on an errand and it returned successfully.
It would mean that it worked. With this, she could actually create her own army with these creatures and storm that Devil dungeon. besides, she had a major bone to settle with one of them.
However, before that, she wanted to really have this meal.
The webbing holding the creature within was strong. so strong that it was like sticky steel to the touch. However, she could also tell that it would not not be able to hold the phoenix for a long time.
Even now, the webbings were steadily melting off.
The Spider like Hell beast had to constantly pour more webbings to keep the phoenix in. However, Athena raised a hand to stop it.
The struggling Pheonix broke out of the bondage that held it.
As it did, it screeched loudly as it broke free, lighting up the entire place.
A hell beast was ranked according to the kind of damage that it could inflict. For this reason, the Phoenix was ranked as one even though its ability was literally heaven defying.
After all, a phoenix had the ability to circumnavigate the rule of death.
It was because of this ability that they were hunted to near extinction. A hunt that was sponsored by none other than Death herself. Of Course this was not a hunt to kill them as even death was not capable of such a thing, but to castrate their existence. Meaning that their...
