Chapter 1131: Lilith Visits Lady Death.

Chapter 1131: Lilith Visits Lady Death.

In the suffocating depths of Hell, Lilith had ventured into the third level—a place unlike any other in the infernal hierarchy.

This at the time of the Morningstar’s reign was once home to the cursed Leviathan demon royal family.

This realm stood in eerie contrast to the usual imagery of Hell. There were no roaring flames, no biting frost, not even the fiery rivers or cracking skies. Instead, it was a barren land, devoid of life, withered and gray, where not even fire could find purchase. The atmosphere itself was oppressive, the air carrying the stench of decay as if death itself had dominion here. Every breath tasted stale, as though life had long since fled.

It was as if the land mourned, for this was the territory of the undead demons—the Leviathans. They were neither fully living nor truly dead, forever cursed to exist in the in-between.

The sense of foreboding was strong here, like an invisible fog that clung to everything, dragging it toward oblivion. The surroundings were a reflection of the family that once thrived here, abandoned and desolate, yet filled with a constant reminder of death’s looming presence.

Lilith moved cautiously through this decayed world, her steps measured. Behind her followed Athena, silent and watchful, her demeanor was one of unwavering loyalty.

Virgil, Lilith’s most trusted servant, had been sent on a separate mission, and she had left the Cupbearers behind.

Lilith’s trust did not extend to them, not here. Besides, Leviathan’s curse ensured that no one could see him—not truly. To see him was literally an abomination.

Even with her heightened senses, Athena could not perceive Leviathan in his entirety. All she could sense was an absence, a void where life had been snuffed out.

For the reason, of his curse, even Lilith wore a blindfold, concealing her sight from a being that no mortal or immortal should witness.

Athena, could sense Leviathan’s presence, but it was nothing more than a dark, hollow emptiness. A void. The absence of life, of energy. It was an unnerving sensation, yet she remained calm, trailing after her queen.

Her thoughts, however, churned beneath her serene exterior. For this place was unlike anything she had ever known—a place touched by death itself, and the presence of the Leviathan only made it worse.

Finally, after a long silence, Leviathan’s voice echoed through the wasteland. His tone was like a rotting wind, heavy with ancient decay, carrying the weight of centuries of damnation. "This place is good enough," he rasped, his words carried a grim finality.

Lilith halted, as she turned toward him, still blindfolded. Her expression remained neutral, but the frown lines creased her lips. She tilted her head as if she could glimpse him through her shrouded eyes. "And what do I do next?"

Leviathan’s response was cold, matter-of-fact. "It’s simple. You die." The words cut through the air like a death sentence. "For it is only in true death that one meets Lady Death, the Ever Lady, End of All things."

Lilith’s lips curled slightly in frustration. "You’ve forgotten our agreement," she warned, her voice low and threatening. But Leviathan was unmoved.

"It is the only way," he replied without hesitation. His tone grew darker, more cryptic. "Death’s realm is vast, larger than many hells combined. It’s not a place you can simply walk into. But I will help you reach it."

Suddenly, a grotesque, wet tearing sound broke the silence. Lilith tensed as she heard it—the unmistakable sound of flesh being ripped open. Leviathan had split his chest wide, exposing the hollow space where his heart once resided. From within that void, something pulsed with an eerie, crimson glow—a page, but not just any page. This was the ’Alpha Page’ from the Book of Death. This one was not like the others, and was called Alpha for many reasons. An artifact of unimaginable power, radiating with an ethereal red light.

He pulled it from his chest, offering it to her. Lilith reached out, her fingers were steady as she touched it. Even she, with her vast knowledge and experience, gasped at what she held. "This is your heart," she whispered, her voice laced with both awe and amusement. She smirked, mockingly adding, "Aren’t you afraid I’ll destroy it and end you?"

Leviathan chuckled, the sound a guttural rumble like earth shifting in a tomb. "If you wanted me dead, you wouldn’t have let me out of my prison," he retorted calmly, his voice betraying no fear.

Lilith raised an eyebrow beneath her blindfold. "And how do I reach Death’s realm?"

Again, his response was chilling. "You must die. My heart will lead you to Lady Death’s castle once you cross the threshold."

Lilith’s frown deepened. "But how do I return?" Her voice carried more than frustration now; there was genuine concern. The risk was too great, even for her.

Leviathan’s laughter was soft but dark, laced with wicked amusement. "You don’t," he said simply. "The only way back is with the rebirth call of a phoenix cry. But that’s impossible, isn’t it?" His words dripped with finality, and then the cruel reminder came. "After all, every phoenix has been exterminated from existence."

The weight of his words hung in the air, a grim reality for anyone who knew Hell’s history. The extinction of the phoenixes was no secret, but the reason for their destruction remained shrouded in mystery.

Before Lilith could speak again, Athena, who had remained silent until now, suddenly stepped forward. "I can help with that."

Both Lilith and Leviathan turned toward her, though Leviathan’s invisible eyes were laced with suspicion. He watched as Athena waved her hand, summoning a circle of vibrant flames. They were not ordinary flames; they burned with a brilliance that defied the decayed surroundings, flickering with a life force that should not exist in this place of death. These flames bore the signature of a phoenix—an impossible power in the current Hell’s barren wasteland.

After all, no one knew more than him the true demise of all phoenix in hell.

Leviathan’s shock was obvious, and his voice betrayed his disbelief. "A human… wielding the power of a Hellbeast?"

But Athena offered no explanation, her eyes steady, fixed on the task at hand. Whatever secrets she held, now was not the time to reveal them. Lilith, sensing the shift in power dynamics, allowed a small, satisfied smile to grace her lips.

"Then lets do this." Without wasting time, Lilith used her own fingers to suddenly slash across her neck, effectively killing herself.
