Chapter 1140: The True Reason For It All
Chapter 1140: The True Reason For It All
"We needed someone that was at the helm of power. But we could not use you, because we knew that Odin with his wisdom will not trust the words that come from your mouth, especially because you have relations with our Regent." Those words made Demeter’s eyes wide open in embarrassment.
However, Hera rolled her eyes at her, "Don’t worry, We already know about it. Your real body might still be a virgin, but its common knowledge that you experience the joys of the flesh through your avatars."
Perseus interrupted the women as he continued talking. "We had already gotten intel of the happenings of the under world and the shift in the balance of power. Naturally, we knew that the Demons would make another attempt at balancing that power, but it would not be as merciful as the last time, and thus we needed a way to make sure that we are lamps waiting for the slaughter.
Father Black suggested that we use the Odin Sleep, a Holy tool that preserves the individual within from the outside world. Even the power of a primordial demon can not break it until it opens at a set time.
That was the only way we could preserve ourselves. But that did not mean that we could walk up to the God’s mountain and ask for it. After all, the gods would always priotise self preservation above all things, and so we used the only leverage we had on them. And that was the people of this plane that worship them and supply their Faith energy.
The time when the gods were lacking faith was not so long ago, and the pain and wound is still fresh to memory. We knew that they would not want to fall to such a fate again, and thus we..."
"Used our own fear against us!" Demeter finished his words, and he nodded.
She could not help but have her eyes widened in surprise. After all, humans had just tricked gods. But she could not help but feel that there was more to this than met the eyes.
And so she asked. "How did you get Ares to agree with your plan, and how did you even know he would agree?"
Perseus shrouded his shoulders. "That much I do not know. It was all the Regents Idea. All we know is what we were told. Even the rest of the Lenny royal family were not told the plan so that the assault on the god mountain would feel real. And right now, Whether Odin knows it was all a lie or not, he has no choice, he has to cast the Odin Sleep on The Planet. After all, the Demon royal families are already here, and if he did not, the Mountain of the gods will suffer."
Hera could not help but look at Demeter in a particular light. "It would seem that your foresight for picking capable men has improved."
Demeter gave a swallow laughter, but in truth, she too was just as surprised. She knew that Father Black was capable. In fact, he was very capable. The development and management of the eighth earth was prove enough but she did not know that he was such an incredible man.
The thought of it was both impressive and scary, and in a weird way, arousing for her.
Crusher smiled, "and as for what we promised Ares, it has already started." He pointed to the gathering of the Demon armada’s high up in the sky.
As the gods looked skyward, bracing for the expected assault from the Demon Royal Families, what they saw left them bewildered. The massive Demon ships, which had arrived from the void like harbingers of doom, were not aiming their destructive forces at the god mountain. Instead, they were attacking each other.
The heavens above Earth were a battlefield of chaos. The Demon Royal Families, that seemed united in their arrival, had erupted into a full-blown war among themselves.
Gigantic vessels, each bearing the distinct sigils and colors of their respective houses, fired torrents of dark energy and infernal magic across the stars. Bolts of red and black energy slashed through the void, ripping through the armor of rival ships, igniting explosions that cast an eerie light over the Earth’s atmosphere.
Demons clad in ancient armor, adorned with glowing runes of their bloodlines, leaped from ship to ship, engaging in brutal close-quarters combat. Their bodies burned with hellish fire, and their jagged weapons clashed, sending sparks flying in the weightless expanse of space. As they fought, their wild roars echoed across the starry canvas, resonating even down to the earth.
From one side, the Family Of Abaddon, known for their mastery over destructive energy, unleashed torrents of unstable power. The twisted arcs of dark lightning tore through the opposing ships of the House of Wrath, whose warriors retaliated with massive shadowy tendrils, ensnaring the Gluttony vessels and crushing them into debris.
In another corner of the war-torn sky, House Asmodeus crimson-horned demons were locked in savage combat with the azure-skinned Cannon fodder of House Abaddon. These were beings from other planes that had been conquered.
Spiked chains swung through space, slicing through enemy ranks as infernal beasts summoned from the depths of hell itself tore into the flesh of their enemies.
Great black wings flapped furiously as demon lords led their forces, hurling fire and brimstone. Each faction, driven by ancient rivalries and newfound ambitions, sought not to conquer Earth but to claim dominance over one another. After all, in their minds, only the winner gets the Blue Jewel that was known as earth.
Bloodlust ruled them, and there was no trace of alliance in their savage hearts.
For the gods, this sight was as unexpected as it was disorienting. Odin’s single glowing eye flickered with confusion as he watched the celestial brawl.
Ares, who had once been so eager to unleash destruction, was momentarily taken aback by the madness unfolding above. And then he chuckled, "Good! Good! VERY GOOD!!! just as promised." Immediately, he kicked against the ground as he flew in the air, heading towards the battle.
As he did, it was obvious his Faith was increasing to terrifying degree.
At this moment, Demeter realized what had been promised to Ares. After all, he was the god of War. and he always hated peaceful times. He had been promised a battle of war for the ages. One that he could partake in and enjoy to the fullest of his heart.
For this reason, he was even willing to betray the gods. Then again, could he be blamed for this? After all, the battle was his nature and all he was born for. Yet, she could still not understand how father Black was able to predict this?
It was not like the gods were so revealing of themselves to humans, even her did not reveal so much to him regardless of their bedroom activities.
The gods, who had been prepared to defend their world against a united demonic front, now found themselves mere observers of a war far greater than any they had anticipated.
Wild clashes and furious powers collided in a dance of annihilation above the Earth. The heavens had become a stage for demonic slaughter, and in that moment, the gods realized that the true threat might not come from the demons’ wrath upon Earth, but from the sheer destruction they were wreaking upon one another.
Nevertheless, Father Black stood far away in the sky, with his favorite cigar in his mouth, Clawed at his side as he took another look at a scroll.
This was the scroll that had been brought over personally by Victor, and in truth, it was the reason for all that was happening now....
