Chapter 906: Angels and Their Rankings

There was so much work to do, but with so little time on hand.

Firstly, Lenny needed to build a portal directly to Purgatory. This place was not a part of the Middle realms which was the eighth earths. However, it was still a primary plane like heaven, hell or even the underworld.

According to mythology Purgatory was the place that souls that were not too bad nor too good where sent to in other for them to repent of their remaining sins so that they be sent to heaven.

It was a kind of short stop, before one was sent into everlasting paradise. However, Mythology would forever be mythology.

Lenny, in his full white regalia and his white hair dancing down his shoulders like a waterfall sat comfortably on a long chair as he read a book floating in mid air.

At the moment, he was alone. The room was a bit dark, but very quiet. He was stocking up on more knowledge that would help him with knowledge on the foes he was going to face.

of course, books could never give as detailed an information as he wanted. But it was good enough. besides, it helped him get and overall view of what to expect. Uriel had already told and taught him a lot.

But there was not enough time for the Angel to pass all his knowledge to Lenny. Lenny had to get them by himself.

According to a book on Purgatory that Lenny had acquired from the Satan System, the place was actually intended to be a repentance ground for human souls. However, it was now a prison used to hold the Fallen of Heaven.

Of course, it was still for them to repent. However, beings as powerful as angels, could be very stubborn. Lucifer Morningstar was a good example of this.

Besides, many of these Angels did not sin in Time but outside Time. This meant that their sins could not be forgiven within Time.

Basically, even though Purgatory was meant to be a ground for repentance, no true repentance could be found in that place.

This was the reason why Fallen angels hated Uriel a lot.

He had doomed their fate for all eternity. As Lenny read further, he could help but wonder about a statement that Uriel had said, "Demons are the standard for measuring strength, because if it was Angels, it won’t be fair on other species."

This was a very bold statement that showed the level of power that they carried.

They was also the fact that the higher one’s strength, the stronger their affinity with that particular force of power.

Then again, this was to be expected.

According to this book, Angels were also of this sort. Even more perplexing, Angels were of different ranks that equated to different categories of power.

At the Top were the:

Seraphims= These were said to be so closest to the One Above all. There were so close to him that they were said to burn with divine love.

It is said that even lower ranked angels would burn to nothingness before their presence. However, they were divided into two. The ones that guide the throne, and those that enforce his will.

There were the Seras and the Archs. According to the Book, Lucifer was ones one of these ones. He was an Arch.

Nothing else was said of the Seras. They were shrouded in a realm of mystery. However, the Archs were all well known.

There were seven of them; Raphael, Sariel, Uriel, Gabriel, Ramuel, Raguel, and lastly, the chief of them all and Twin to Lucifer, Michael.

On the page he was reading, there was a side note.

From the way the warning was written, Lenny could swear that it had been from Uriel.

If Uriel was warning him about these ones, then it was best to avoid them. At least for now. He was no where close to the power that they carried.

After the Seraphims were the:

Cherubim= These were beings in charge of the protection of Knowledge and wisdom.

The book explained that they were the angels assigned to guard the wisdom of life and the secrets it held from the rest of creation.

They were the same creatures that guarded the Tree of life and death, and the tree of wisdom and knowledge. Yes! They were in charge of guarding the First garden, the one known as the Garden of Eden after the fall of Adam.

It is said that they protect this Sacred place with a sword of fire.

After that are the:

Thrones= These ones Radiate The One Above All’s justice into the rest of the Angelic Hierachy.

After which are the Dominions and Vitues.

All Angels whether fallen or not, are assigned to one of this roles at the point of creation. There is no promotion and are all fixed with their roles for all of eternity.

Therefore, the functioning of the Fallen Angels also emulates this style.

Surprisingly, Uriel was a actually a Cherubim. An Angel of Wisdom and knowledge.

According to the book, their kind were actually very rare. And he was only amongst two others that had fallen with Lucifer.

But for some reason lenny could not understand, he was a very weak one.

Of course, it was easy to attribute it to his imprisonment for hundreds of years. However, lenny was smarter now, and his senses and instincts told him other wise.

Even Uriel himself had said that he was the weakest Angel lenny would ever face.

That was a very bold statement for a Cherubim to make. At the same time, there was also the assumption that they were all weak. After all, their forte was not in battle but in wisdom.

Then again, it is said that the Cerabim protect the Garden of Eden.

Thinking thus far, Lenny wondered what kind of Angels the ones protecting reality from the Forces of the nether realm were.

After all, those ones did not even give off any light and had been there since the dawn of creation. Their sole duty, being that they had to stay guard against the Nether till the end of time.
