Chapter 120 - 120 120 Better to End It Early

?Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Better to End It Early Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Better to End It Early Julian Brown had originally planned to fly back to Kyoto in a helicopter, but just before leaving, he was delayed by William Griffith, who insisted on fencing with him.

After several rounds, neither Julian Brown nor William Griffith could claim victory. Sweating profusely, they both sat down on the ground.

Removing their masks, Julian Brown glanced at the hostile-looking William Griffith.

“What’s wrong? Who offended you? You seem to be harboring some serious hostility.” They had fought like this while they were in Kyoto before, but it was always just a friendly match. Today, William Griffith seemed different.

William Griffith was silent. After venting, he got up to leave, but Julian Brown stopped him —
“Hey, don’t tell me you just wanted a fight with me and that’s why you wouldn’t let me get on the plane! Do I look that idle to you?” Julian Brown was unhappy and held onto William, not letting him leave.

However, William Griffith’s face looked terrible. Clearly, he was troubled by something today.

Yet, in all these years, what could still affect William Griffith so deeply? And who could it be that was beyond his control, someone who could make him this out of control? There was probably only one person.

But that person shouldn’t be able to affect him like that anymore.

“Today, someone mentioned Chloe to me.” William Griffith finally spoke, and Julian Brown, still grasping his hand, couldn’t help but be startled.

“Chloe?”

“Yes.”

“Who?”

William Griffith wondered if he was being too sensitive, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that things were not that simple. Why did Grace Harper come up with that name instead of any other name? Could it be that everything was just a coincidence?

Julian Brown released him and then scoffed: “I told you before, getting involved with Cherish Turner was a mistake, but you wouldn’t listen.”

He took out an extremely expensive bottle of wine from the liquor cabinet and poured two glasses, handing one to William Griffith.

The two of them stood up and drank, but today, William Griffith felt the taste in the wine was exceptionally bitter.

“In my opinion, you should just end things with that girl as soon as possible. Otherwise, both of you will be miserable in the future. William, I can see that you have genuine feelings for her.” As someone who was two years older than William Griffith and had experienced some relationships himself, Julian Brown felt obliged to give his friend some advice as a friend.

William Griffith sipped the wine, his eyes unreadable.

“She’s the mother of my child.”

“You know very well how Lewis came to be. Do you think Cherish Turner will be overjoyed and accept both you and the child once she finds out the truth? And when she’s unwilling, how will you choose? Will you imprison her by your side and repeat the tragedy?”

Listening to Julian Brown’s words, William Griffith knew all too well. If everything were to unfold that way, Cherish Turner would probably hate him to death, wouldn’t she?!

He couldn’t bear that thought.

He drained the remaining wine in his glass, then slammed it onto the table. The glass didn’t break, but the remaining drops of wine quivered violently.

“Julian Brown, I won’t let the tragedy repeat itself. As for Cherish Turner, it’s never been what you all thought.”

“So, it was Cherish Turner right from the beginning?”

Julian Brown’s question received no answer. William Griffith tossed away his mask and wooden sword, leaving the vast fencing hall.

Julian Brown raised his wine glass and smiled with satisfaction.

William Griffith, you really have your ways. I can’t wait to see how you’ll turn things around.
