Chapter 123 - 123 123 Will You Forgive

?Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Will You Forgive? Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Will You Forgive? Cherish Turner had been unable to find William Griffith. He was not answering his phone, and she had no idea where he could have suddenly disappeared to!

With Hailey taking care of Sam Turner in the hospital, Cherish felt relieved but also a bit guilty. She had thought about going to the hospital to spell Hailey, but realized that Sam needed some fresh clothes. So, she had made a detour to her home to fetch some clothes for him first.

“Cherish, you’re back? Have you had dinner yet? You didn’t work today, right? Where have you been all this time?”

“Mom, I was hanging out with friend…hehehe…” Cherish lied and was about to hurry into Sam’s room when she heard her mom say––
“Has the upstairs been sold? It seems like I heard some noise? There wasn’t anyone doing any refurbishing though…”

Mother Turner muttered to herself, but it reminded Cherish about the person living upstairs.

Cherish, you’re so silly! How could you not have thought about this till now?

“Mom, I’m not having dinner. I’m exhausted today and plan to sleep early. Please don’t disturb me, you and dad…” Saying that, Cherish quickly retreated into her room.

From her room, Cherish took the elevator up to the 9th floor.

William had given her the key a long time ago. As she opened the door, a heavy scent of alcohol drifted out.

The lights in the room were off, and it was pretty dark. Only the light from the lobby faintly illuminated the room.

“William? Are you there?” Cherish asked tentatively as she cautiously advanced, stopping when she felt her foot collide with something.

After switching on a light, she saw William lying sprawled out on the floor surrounded by a scattering of empty alcohol bottles.

Why did he drink so much?

“Hey, wake up!” Cherish squatted down and patted William’s face. He was drunk. Drinking so much alcohol was really harmful to his health, especially considering he had been hospitalized recently. It seemed like he truly didn’t care about his wellbeing.

Through his intoxication, William saw Cherish’s silhouette and couldn’t help but give a weak smile, reaching out to touch her cheek. The soft sensation made him feel weak at his knees.

“I must be dreaming again…” He mumbled, his eyes too fuzzy to read. Cherish watched him, failing to understand his own mutterings.

“Why don’t you get up? Why did you drink so much? You wouldn’t answer your phone, I’ve been busy taking care of Sam, and now I have to take care of you, too.” Cherish grumbled a complaint, but she was mostly anxious and worried. She had no idea what was going on. His eyes looked so sad.

But what was he so sad about?

“Cherish…”

“I’ve told you, I really don’t like that nickname…” Cherish pouted her discontent.

Grace Harper said that when he called his mother “Cherish”, it was the same way as he called her. Sometimes, she genuinely wanted to ask him, which ‘Cherish’ he was referring to when he called that name – was it her or his mother?

“Cherish… don’t leave me again…”

“…I…I’ve been here the whole time.” Cherish felt jealous hearing his words, but also couldn’t bear to act temperamental.

“Cherish…”

“I told you to stop calling me Cherish…yeesh!” Cherish was really upset, and she was about to slap him. Brave in only his drunken stupors, she was going to act out her courage, as sober William always seemed to be the one bullying her.

But as her palm nearly met his cheek, he suddenly caught her hand––
“If one day, you find out I’ve done something wrong, will you forgive me?” Now, William’s gaze was entirely serious as he looked straight into Cherish’s eyes, making it impossible for her to tell whether he was drunk or sober.
