Chapter 132 - 132 132 Surrounded
?Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Surrounded Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Surrounded Thomas Harrison nodded and stepped back, watching through the floor-to-ceiling window as a red car pulled up near the villa. He couldn’t help but chuckle, it seemed the boss was quite the strategist!
“Boss, Miss Turner is here.”
“Hmm, I see her.” The tone of his voice was laced with a hint of pride, sounding particularly pleased.
William Griffith had long thought that if Cherish Turner’s identity were ever exposed, she would inevitably face the obstacle of his grandparents’ approval. To win them over, he needed to plan in advance.
Cherish got out of the car and hid, too scared to approach. There were so many reporters, it seemed like not even a fly could get into the Deep Wave Mansion!
Unable to think of any other solutions, Cherish could only contact William. He was the one who caused this situation, so he must take responsibility.
As expected, before long, William, who had been sipping his coffee, had his phone ring.
The caller ID showed his private number.
“Hello.” His voice was as cool, calm and mesmerizing as ever.
“It’s me.”
Of course, he knew it was her.
“I’m at your doorstep, but there are so many reporters outside, how do I get in?”
Cherish was hiding at a location the reporters couldn’t see, hunched over a wall as she made the call—which was absolutely exhausting.
William Griffith observed all of this clear as day, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips.
Thomas Harrison also saw everything. As a man, he couldn’t help but envy Miss Turner, let alone other women.
“Wait there,” William suddenly told her.
Cherish didn’t know what he was planning to do and wanted to ask him, but when she tried to, she found that William had hung up the call!
“Hello? Hello? Hello!?” What was going on? He hung up on her! What should she do now?
Confused, Cherish peeked out from her hiding spot to see what was happening on the other side of the wall. The entire area was fenced off with iron railings and there was a shrubbery. Trying to squeeze through would be quite difficult.
As Cherish walked around, she looked for any gaps or small tunnels through which she could pass.
To her surprise, she really found one!
In a small corner where a bush grew beside a wall, there was an inconspicuous dog hole. Although she’d never seen a dog at the Deep Wave Mansion before. Why was there a dog hole?
Based on the size of the hole, it looked like it was made for larger breeds like huskies or Samoyeds.
Cherish rubbed her hands together, parted the shrubbery and started to crawl into the hole.
But suddenly, she heard noises from inside: “Quick, look! President Griffith has come out! Quick, take pictures!”
It seemed that William has opened the main entrance. However, instead of addressing the flashing lights of the reporters’ cameras, he calmly walked out.
While the reporters were curious to the core, they didn’t dare to provoke a man like William. After all, he held the entire economic lifeline of Haicheng in his hands. They could entertain the public to an extent, but they couldn’t afford to cross a line. As he stepped out, it was as though a court was coming to pay respects—they automatically parted to make way for him.
Despite the reporters bubbling with burning questions, no one stepped forward to ask. No one wanted to be the first to be brave enough, or foolish enough, to cross the line.
Cherish had barely squeezed her head through the hole, but it was a bit tight, and she would certainly get her clothes dirty. However, this was unavoidable, and certainly better than being caught by reporters!
So she continued to crawl. After much effort, she had made it halfway through and could finally poke her head out of the shrubbery.
But what was happening now? Why were so many reporters staring at her all at once?
