Chapter 130 : Introducing Spirit Train
Chapter 130 : Introducing Spirit Train
Inside the hall, all the elders looked at each other, trying to wrap their heads around what they had just heard.
How did transportation make them lose to the Blood Whisperers?
They tried to understand Su Yen's point of view, but they couldn't. Previously, when the Desert Sand Demon attacked them, they reorganized their military, moving a section closer to the cities, towns, and villages.
Was that not to address the issue of soldiers being too far away from the people?
If that was not enough, what should they do? Move the army into the cities and towns?
All the elders looked at Su Yen skeptically. Perhaps, if he were not the Sect Master, they would have long berated him.
Su Yen looked at the confusion on the faces of the elders with a fascinating gaze.
"Sect master..." Su Ming was about to speak but was interrupted by Su Bolin.
"I think I understand what the Sect Master is saying."
Hmm!
Everyone turned their heads and stared at him, waiting for him to continue.
Su Bolin cleared his throat and stood up. He looked at the elders' faces and began confidently.
"Having a section of the army closer to the people would work in some aspects but not all the time..." He paused to arrange his thoughts.
"When we were attacked by the Blood Whisperers, there were fresh and ready soldiers that could be deployed to the battlefront to quench the widespread of the attack. But what happened when we received the intel, it took our men hours before they reached their assigned location."
"What is the essence of reinforcement when the people they are going to reinforce have all been slaughtered? If we had solid transportation like the Sect Master has said, we could have easily dealt with the Blood Whisperers as soon as they appeared."
A look of realization dawned on the faces of the elders, but Su Bolin had not completed his analysis, and he continued to speak.
"Besides, the betrayal of the Jin clan wouldn't have been that successful. Therefore, I support the Sect Master. If we can't solve this issue as soon as possible, we are still in danger."
With that, he took his seat calmly, looking at Su Yen from the corner of his eyes. Su Yen looked at him and nodded, and a bright smile appeared on his face.
"I believe I don't need to explain any further, right?" Su Yen asked.
They all nodded.
With Su Bolin's analysis, they had all realized their military shortcomings, but the question in their minds was how they would solve it.
"Now that we know our military weakness, how are we going to overcome it?" Elder Jie asked.
For a couple of seconds, the hall was thrown into a dead silence as everyone was lost in thought.
"How about the beasts? Can we find a way to use the beasts? Apart from the beasts, I don't think there is any way we can overcome the hurdle of transportation unless we can find a way to create a new mode of transportation," Su Lan said seriously.
"If we're going to use the beast race, what type of beasts are we going to use, what would be their grade, and how many?" Elder Hua asked the most vital points.
Su Lan looked at Elder Hua for a moment, trying to come up with a reasonable answer but couldn't before Elder Feng responded.
"I don't think using the beasts is advisable. Apart from the trouble to enslave the beasts, we must not try to start another war with the beast race because of this."
"Then, what do you say we do?" Elder Jie asked.
"I don't know."
"If you don't know, then keep quiet while those who may know are thinking," Elder Jie fired.
"You..." Elder Feng pointed at him with fury burning on his face. He gnashed his teeth as he prepared to stand on his feet and attack.
"What!" Elder Jie didn't back down and glared at him. "If you need some wake-up beating, I won't hesitate to give you."
Looking at the two old men bickering like kids, all the elders sighed and shook their heads. It had been a long time since they last witnessed this.
Everyone thought they had all put all this childish behavior behind them, but they were wrong.
Su Yen looked at the two elders and didn't have any intention of stopping them.
Elder Feng was a hot-tempered man while Elder Jie was a straightforward, blunt person. So, it wasn't a surprise that the two won't get along.
"Forget about them and let's continue," Su Yen said casually.
Hmm?
Everyone looked at him with jaws dropped to the ground. Is he serious right now?
They rolled their eyes and looked at his face, wanting to see if he was serious.
When they saw his deadpan face, they realized he was serious.
Everyone was confused, with bewilderment written all over their faces. Wouldn't the Sect Master stop them?
Even though they were puzzled by this strange behavior, they all played along.
Bang!
Before the meeting could continue, Elder Feng couldn't contain his fury any longer and attacked with a powerful punch.
Ahh!
Elder Jie was caught off guard, and the punch slammed into his chest, sending him flying and crashing against the wall.
"You are so dead!" Elder Jie shouted as he got to his feet.
Before he could retaliate with a deadly palm attack, a powerful gust of wind sent him out of the hall.
Outside the hall, Elder Jie was beaming with fury as he wanted to rush back into the hall when he saw a silhouette being sent out of the hall.
An evil grin crept up his face, and he attacked with a deadly palm attack.
"Now that those old dogs are out, let's continue," Su Yen brought the attention of everyone back to the serious issue.
"Y-yes," they all answered with shock written on their faces.
How did the Sect Master carry them out with a casual wave of his hand?!
They exclaimed in their minds, but no one asked.
"To deal with the problem of transportation, we need a new mode of transportation, and I have one," Su Yen said slowly.
The hall descended into an abrupt silence as they waited for him to continue.
"It is called... Spirit Train."
