Everyone turned their heads in the direction that Adam was pointing at. There, they saw a corpse with a gaping hole in its chest and a dagger shaped like a raven feather pierced through the side of its head.

Sensing the remnant mana fluctuations around the corpse, all the councilors instantly understood that the corpse belonged to a Rank 3 - Mana Vortex Magus!

Instantly, all of them arrived before the corpse with a thunderstruck look on their faces. The corpse belonged to a pale, middle-aged man with a receding hairline.

The face still displayed shock and horror. One could only imagine what he must've gone through at the time of death.

Ives Ballard was the first one to react. With eyes completely wide in shock, he blurted out, "This is a Mana Vortex Magus! Do you expect all of us to believe that you, a mere Mana Liquefaction Magus, killed this man? Do you take us for fools?!"

Adam simply ignored the man, continuing to drink from the gourd. However, this action of his caused Ives Ballard to become even more enraged.

He looked at all the councilors present and spoke furiously, "This boy is highly suspicious! Do all of you really think that he was able to kill a Mana Vortex Magus? Since when did Magi like us become so easy to kill? He's lying! He's definitely hiding something!"

Taron Norwood and Hammon McLeod shared Ives' sentiments. They didn't think that a Rank 2 Magus could possibly kill a Rank 3 Magus. This was simply unheard of.

Daneil Ranzenberg was stoic as ever, his thoughts and opinions a mystery. Nylian Feno had a conflicted expression on his face.
