Chapter 69 - 69 068 Ecstasy
?Chapter 69: 068 Ecstasy Chapter 69: 068 Ecstasy This was an extremely magical experience, sour swelling, tingling numbness, slight pain, and both searingly hot and icy cool.
The effect of the elixir took hold rapidly, and these indescribably complex sensations soon dissipated, leaving only a sense of familiarity and strangeness towards his own body.
When the weird feelings in his eye sockets also faded away, Lin An blinked in confusion.
Then, he jumped up from the bed in a bit of a panic, quickly walked to the entrance of his room where the dressing mirror was, and rapidly blinked into the mirror.
“It just feels…”
Lin An touched his eyelids in confusion, but there didn’t seem to be anything peculiar.
Unlike what his eyes saw, he felt as if an extra layer of eyelid had grown between his eyeballs and eyelids, or as if there were two eyeballs layered inside his eye sockets.
“Lin An, what on earth happened to you?” The head bounced around on the bed, flinging droplets of blood from its hair tips everywhere.
Lin An slowly turned his head to glance at it.
Trying to control that layer of eyelid to close, suddenly there was only a basketball gently rolling on the bed.
He then tried to open the eyelids again, and an ugly head suddenly appeared on the bed.
“Eieieieie~~~” the head cried out in panic, “It’s so weird, I just suddenly appeared in a pitch-black world, and then when you looked at me, I was suddenly back in the real world.”
Lin An raised an eyebrow, “A pitch-black world?”
“Yeah yeah!” the head shouted, “Your body was gray and white, and there were so many strange things floating around, like blood and ears, and pictures, with the sky and ground both looking like mirrors.”
It excitedly described the world it had seen, “Through the mirror on the ground, you could vaguely see the room, and through the mirror in the sky, you could see a world of dark golden mist, with lots of strange black grease seeping out from the mirror surfaces.”
“That’s the interlayer between the Spirit Realm and the real world,” Lin An boasted of the information he knew, then suddenly looked at it with suspicion, “You can see it now?”
The head shook its head, “No, but in that pitch-black world, I could see it because it felt like… it felt like…”
Its expression suddenly turned weird, looking dumbfounded, it murmured idiotically, “It felt like I was sitting on your neck… oh my… that feeling was so good… Lin An… could you lend me your body… I really want to see this real world you’re talking about…”
Lin An’s eyes narrowed and he scoffed decisively, “Impossible!”
“Alright then…”
The head opened its mouth and finally sighed.
Unless…
My will is completely destroyed by the flames of emotion, and then you could take over my body and become a Sorcerer Zombie…
Lin An looked thoughtfully at the head, the red string on his arm wriggling, a hint of murderous intent flickering in his eyes.
Warily considering a possibility, he couldn’t bring himself to kill this ugly head. After being lonely for so long, he had finally accepted the presence of this hideously ugly head in his life, and he had grown somewhat attached to it.
“Don’t have that kind of thought anymore…” Lin An walked over slowly and looked down at the head, tilting his head with a deep gaze, “Don’t force me to do something unpleasant.”
The head shrank back a bit in fear, swallowing hard and staring blankly at Lin An with its empty eye sockets, “You suddenly seem so scary, I felt like I saw a flame burning inside your body.”
“!!!”
Lin An’s face turned to shock, suddenly becoming aware of the wild fire in his heart that seemed ready to spread again, and he quickly tried to calm his emotions, attempting to enter the rhythm of the Yoga Meditation Breathing Skill.
Relax~
Relax~
Accept everything in life, whether good or bad, it’s all a part of the journey. Rugged mountains and grassy fields with flowers are all parts of life. Try opening your heart, accepting everything. Calmly face whatever comes, whether embracing or resisting, with serenity and composure…
He reminded himself not to be led by emotions and that he was the master of his body, not some inexplicable extremists of emotion.
“I’m going out for a look~”
Lin An decided to do something to lift his spirits.
With a spring in his step, he left his home, walked out of the residential area, and thinking it over, he headed towards the bus stop.
Never before! Never like now has Lin An so longed for someone to look his way! He used to be so troubled by this!
Finally, the bus arrived during the busy after-work period. Even on the suburban route heading to the city center, it was still packed with people.
Lin An stepped up excitedly, and several odd hallucinations appeared before his eyes, but many of them flickered away momentarily, as it was obvious some people glanced his way and then averted their gaze.
“The people at the back, please move inside, there’s plenty of space!” the bus driver turned back and called out, then turned back to hurry everyone onto the bus.
Lin An was soon squeezed into the middle of the bus, holding onto the handrail and standing firm, delightfully watching the crowd reflected in the window.
Look at me~
Someone is looking at me now~
Hahaha~
I’m not scared anymore~
Not scared at all~
Lin An was so excited he almost hummed a song, haha, praise Mr. Liu, praise generous Mr. Liu~
After the bus passed a few stops, finally, a gaze landed on him, belonging to a girl with glasses holding a book, sitting in the window seat right in front of Lin An.
Her hallucination was a lump of gray-brown putty, just like many colored putties kneaded together but not thoroughly mixed. The putty’s surface was glossy, appearing somewhat sticky, and a basin-sized blob stuck to the window, reflecting the city’s lights flickering past.
Gently touching it, its squelching, odd noise became clear as well.
——”I’m so jealous of this young man, able to live so happily. I seem unable to find interest in anything, everything feels tasteless, so utterly bland…”
——”Oh my, his expression is so infectious, I feel like I’m starting to become happy as well…”
Lin An was indeed very happy, he blinked, switching his view from the one with the putty monster to just a normal window view, and then switched back, the putty monster reappeared in front of him.
Haha, he could finally block out these hallucinations from his sight at will!
He could easily switch between normal eyes and the ‘Eye of Spirituality’!
“Hah~”
He couldn’t help but laugh out loud, drawing many glances his way, and suddenly his vision filled with all sorts of demons and monsters.
But ah~
He!
Was not troubled at all~
“Hahahahaha…”
He laughed madly, standing amidst the crowd, unrestrainedly boisterous.
“Hahahahaha…”
“Hahahahahahahahahaha…”
Zi~
The bus came to an abrupt stop and pulled over.
Lin An stumbled and was shoved outside, either get off the bus or go have tea with the police uncles for causing a public disturbance.
“Crazy!” the somewhat agitated bus driver cursed as he drove away.
Yet, he just stood by the road, laughing happily.
Laughing.
Laughing until tears streamed down.
Laughing until his stomach hurt.
He…
Life was just too hard.
He had struggled to complete his studies, entered the somewhat renowned Antler Software, secured a high-paying job, bought an apartment small yet perfect for him…
And then Witches and Witch-hunting Knights just suddenly appeared before him.
Life’s difficulties seemed never to have given up on him, tirelessly finding trouble for him, but what of it, he would always get through it in the end!
Lin An could feel a surge of happiness boiling and rolling in his chest, obviously the flames of emotion, but he didn’t restrain himself any longer, just letting himself be immersed in the happiness.
This state, it was just fine.
Joy!
Euphoria!
Humming a song, swinging his hips, snapping his fingers with both hands, he staggered down the street, uncontrollably delighted, gradually disappearing into the city’s hustle and bustle.
To be successful in life~ ah~ one must enjoy it to the fullest~~~~
