I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 190: She did Slightly Better?

Chapter 190: She did Slightly Better?

"Are you... Alright, Lillian...?" Marionette asked the girl, standing in the doorway, leaning to the side against the door. She seemed to be quite uncomfortable.

If Marionette hadn't known any better, she would have thought it was because of her presence. But over the few months, that idea was surely not the case.

Lillian waved her hand, dismissively with a nervous expression, "Wha...? I'm perfectly fine..." She stated, her legs shaking.

She was, of course, lying. The soreness from the pills had kept her up all night. She should've stopped at the first one and let herself recover before digesting another.

Without a wink of sleep and a dishevelled appearance, she looked as though she had been fighting in her sleep.

Marionette moved closer, raising her hand.

Lillian watched as the Assassin stroked her hair, brushing down any that were sticking up. She then moved towards her collar and tie, adjusting it.

"Did you not sleep well?" Marionette asked in a curious tone, causing Lillian to let out a guilty chuckle.

"W-well... Such things happen when a beauty leaves your side for the night~." She blinked at the tall woman, flirtatiously.

Marionette let out a small hum. She moved her hand from Lillian's blazer and hovered it before the girl's forehead. Her index finger curled, her thumb moving over its nail, holding it back.

With her hand forming an 'O' shape, she flicked Lillian's forehead, causing the girl to reel back in both shock and pain.

Lillian clutched her forehead with both hands, pulling back from the door. She stared wide-eyed at the Assassin. What on Earth did she do to deserve that?!

Marionette stared silently at the Rabbit's expression before smiling, "Your flirts are adorable, Lillian. Now then... Are you ready to go train?"

"Eh? Don't we have classes today?"

Marionette tilted her head, "Hm? No. Are you sure you are alright?" She raised her hand, placing it over the girl's forehead, checking her temperature. "You haven't eaten anything awful, did you?"

Lillian shook her head, brushing the hand off her forehead gently. "I didn't... I guess my mind was playing tricks on me." She pinched the edges of her blazer, "Should I change then?"

Marionette thought for a moment before shaking her head, "No. If you are feeling unwell, she can postpone it tomorrow—"

"Nah. Let's train some more today."

"... Hm?"

Marionette folded her arms, staring at her with concern. It was evident that Lillian was unwell — the girl barely hid it.

"If you feel forced by me, Lillian. Please do say. I'd rather you be in your most peak condition rather than... Whatever this is."

Lillian shook her head and shrugged, "You ain't. Rather..." She moved in, wrapping her arms around the surprised woman, "I'm glad you are pushing me." She muttered.

Marionette stared down at her, feeling something off about the girl today. But it was the "good" kind of off.

She glanced left and right, checking out the empty corridors before wrapping her arms around the girl. She pulled her in tighter, causing Lillian's face to smush further into her chest.

"Well, I'm glad you acknowledge my efforts. But are you most definitely sure you are fine, Lilly?" She inquired.

Lillian shuffled a little bit, tilting her face up from the woman's chest. She stared up into the Assassin's eyes before saying:

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." She smiled in amusement, finding the woman's concern adorable. She then pulled herself out from the raven-haired woman's embrace and began making her way down the corridor.

"Let's just make our way to the Technological Building. I'm not sure why, but I feel like I'll do plenty better than I did last time."

***

"Are you ready?" Marionette asked, stretching her arms.

Lillian nodded, doing the same thing she was doing.

The place where their battle was going to take place would be in an open area inside a lush, thick jungle.

To the right, Marionette wielded only the obsidian knife, while to the left, Lillian wore her Carapace Chestplate and wielded her black odachi.

As their eyes locked, Lillian couldn't help but wonder if she would suffer from using her mana core within the confines of virtual reality. Surely not, right?

She wasn't given much time to deliberate the thought, for Marionette had already prepared to close the gap between them with earnest swiftness.

Lillian returned the Black Maw back to her Mana Realm, figuring it was best not to be weighed down by it. She didn't really know why she had it out in the first place.

She raised her right hand, creating a wide liquid obstacle between them. Marionette eyes blinked at the sudden appearance of a wall of pure water.

A light flickered deep inside her red eyes as she saw the surface of the wall deform.

Marionette slowed down, pausing in her tracks as she observed it with deep curiosity.

Several peaks stretched out from the surface of the wall facing her. Once reaching a metre or two in length, they transformed into spears, spikes, and needles.

Marionette tapped her feet on the ground before leaping to the side, dodging Lillian's barrage that tore through the trees behind her with expected ease.

Lillian watched as the Assassin circled around her, intending to go around her liquid barrier. She smirked.

She raised her right arm once again, causing it to stop in its firing. She then swiped her arm from left to right, stretching the wall around her.

Marionette skidded along the ground as she stopped running towards the girl. Noticing that she had only a couple of seconds before Lillian would resume her barrage, she dashed towards the trees.

Lillian's eyes glinted at Marionette's retreat. She snapped her fingers.

As Marionette ran through the maze of trees, sharp, narrow blurs shot through the air.

FWIP! BSHH!

They tore through the body of the trees above her, ripped through the shrubs, and caused leaves to rustle and fall. It was as though she were intending to deforest the entire jungle.

Soon enough, Lillian stopped her random attacks. She stood behind her barrier that had now transformed into a dome of water.

Even though her mana was roughly around double her previous mana reservoir, she would most likely run out of mana carelessly attacking like this.

SWIP! SPLASH!

Lillian glanced to the side, immediately tilting her body to the side. Her eyes followed the body of a sharpened branch as it tore through her barrier before exiting.

She quickly looked back towards the forest, finding more sharpened branches darting towards her. Before it could penetrate her dome, she snapped her fingers and caused it to rotate.

The tips of the branches were then dragged to the side, causing them to be caught in the current of the rotating dome.

Lillian squinted her eyes, trying to see through her now blurry barrier, finding it difficult to see anything accurately.

FWIP!

Lillian flinched at another branch thrown at her dome. This one was particularly close, as it was almost able to penetrate through. What was Marionette doing...?

Without a delay in between throws, more followed. Soon enough, her entire vision was skewered as she was merely left with slight gaps in between branches.

Due to Marionette's insistent throws, her dome was now covered in branches and sharp, wooden debris.

She felt like a sitting duck.

"I think... I should probably get out of here..."

Lillian turned to the side before suddenly catching something in the corner of her eyes.

It was something that caused her eyes to widen.

C-CRACK! SPLASH!

What appeared and tore through her dome was an entire log. Marionette had chucked a log at her!

Lillian moved her mana through her upper body, causing it to turn fluid. The log blasted through her head, which had turned to water. Once it left, she regrew her head.

She let out a sigh as she stared at the gaping hole in her dome before fixing it. She had to think of a counter-attack because, apparently, it seemed that Marionette had decided to throw entire "trees" at her.

However, she didn't need to think that hard.

"Your mana has exceptionally improved, Lillian."

A pair of arms wrapped around her neck from behind. Something soft pressed against the back of her head. And the chilling voice of a familiar person rang inside her ears.

She twisted herself around, controlling her mana to move inside her right arm. She twisted its shape, turning it into a blade of water.

Once she caught a glimpse of the Assassin, smiling at her, she felt something pass through her neck.

Marionette gently kicked back Lillian's body before raising her hand and catching the girl's head. She clutched the sides of the Rabbit's head with both her hands, smiling down at them.

"Good attempt, Lillian. Let's try again, shall we?"

Lillian stared back, wide-eyed, before smiling in defeat but also determination. "I'll get you next time, Marionette."

"Then, I'll wait for you to appear again."
