Chapter 124: 124. Is soloing a boar doable? (1)

Clara didn't enter the clearing yet, but looked intently at the boar that kept doing something near the ground with its tusks.

She made another gesture with her hands, and Theo understood. He slowly moved his legs while looking at the ground to avoid making any abrupt movements that would reveal them.

Theo came close to Clara and looked at the boar in the clearing with focus, It was a boar not as big and intimidating as the one beside him.

He compared the sizes and found that Clara's boar may have been more than two times its size.

'Hop down and hide yourself, mantis.'

The mantis hopped down right away, and when Theo looked around, he nodded to himself, the mantis was gone.

He felt a tap on his shoulder and looked at Clara, who gestured with a few signs. She asked whether he wanted to try it alone or together.

Theo thought for a while and then looked at the boar again.

'A level lower than mantis… still, this might be a bit difficult,' Theo thought and gave the gestures that he would be attacking on his own for starters.

'Get near it, mantis. And don't reveal yourself yet.' Theo gave another command and waited.

After half a minute of watching the boar keep digging its tusks in the already destroyed ground, Theo felt a slight emotion from the mantis.

He smiled. they were finally able to do it intentionally now.

The mantis had no way of communicating back with Theo yet, so Theo only showed him the way that was written in the books.

It was to help the beast send the emotions it was feeling currently through the bond. The past 15 days' training was fruitful.

He observed the boar, who had not yet noticed the mantis's presence. Theo couldn't help but feel confident.

'Get closer and then metallic strike to the neck,' Theo gave another command.

Just a second later, he saw a bright small light move toward the boar in a split second of aerial travel.

SQUEAKKKK

The boar squealed and moved its forelegs up and down in panic before it ran as fast as it could in front.

In a hurry and panic that it might just run away, Theo got out of the clearing, making Clara feel a shiver in her spine. He was not supposed to do that yet.

When the boar looked back in panic, it saw another being in the clearing—a weak-looking human.

It stopped, making its forelegs dig in the dug-up soil. It grunted again and Theo finally saw the gash on its neck. The cut was leaking reddish blood every second.

As the fur was metallic, Theo could see the drops come out and fall to the ground, yet the blood in those droplets was less, which made him realize that the cut may not have been so deep.

'Mantis, spore lash,' Theo commanded again while he felt a bit weird that he was in the same clearing as a wild beast that would take any opportunity to hurt him badly.

SQUEAKK

The boar grunted again and started moving toward Theo, this time, who went on guard instinctively. He still stepped back, but there was no point now; his cover was blown, and the boar would keep following him.

Theo glanced at Clara once, who felt a bit disappointed in his action, he could tell from her expression. He gritted his teeth and ran to the location where the boar had first been.

Suddenly, after looking at Theo run there, the boar came into a lot more panic and started running faster.

Clara came out too, and so did the pup and the boar. Yet the boar's full focus was still toward Theo, who was on his previous spot now.

'Spore lash!' Theo screamed inwardly and looked at the upcoming boar with all his focus, he crouched his body just by a little and moved his hand to the side.

'Should I try it or not?' Theo asked himself. Yet there was actually no time to think anymore as the boar was already near him.

"Don't come!" Theo screamed while the boar came very very close to him. The pup had already started coming toward him, yet it stopped and whimpered.

All three on the sidelines were worried and close enough to attack.

When the boar and its tusks came dangerously close, Theo moved his left foot in a single motion with his body and went to the side.

The boar couldn't control itself in time and kept traveling in the same direction while trying to stop its body.

It looked back and squeaked again before coming toward him.

Before, when the boar just kept moving forward, Theo looked around on the unruly ground and finally saw the mantis who was briskly moving toward the boar's location.

As the boar kept moving such a long distance again and again, the mantis did not get to catch up to it until now.

'Stay near me, mantis!' Theo gave the command, and as the mantis was already so close to him while moving ahead, it just stopped and came near Theo.

The boar started moving forward simultaneously with a continuous squeaking sound.

'Spore lash!' Theo screamed inwardly again, and for the first time, the boar was already coming toward their location.

The mantis started brisking forward too, with its little legs, which were surprisingly fast. Alas, it was still not enough to follow a beast as big as the boar.

The mantis hopped up high, and the boar noticed it for the first time, yet, as it looked like a small bug, the boar tried ignoring it. Insects were always around the boar, which it never cared about.

While the mantis was in the air, Theo was surprised to see its action. It did not wait for the forelegs to touch the boar this time, but smashed both its forelegs together, making the pollen come out in quite a number in the air.
