Vol. 2 Ch. 23

"Alright! That's it for today!"

With the sound of the coach's whistle, the practice was over. The bodies, drenched in sweat, were all completely exhausted, but there was still work to be done. Josh, together with the guys he had spoken to earlier, was the first to head to the shower, hastily cleaning up and getting ready to leave. Normally, they would joke around and chatter, making light of things as they wasted time, before heading to the game center or meeting their girlfriends. But today was different.

"Josh, by the way, I heard the K High School guys are gunning for you. Did you hear about it?"

Just as he was about to leave the locker room, one of the guys spoke up. Josh responded nonchalantly, "Yeah, I heard."

"K High School? Who's that? Wilson?"

"Yeah, him and his gang, I guess."

One of the guys following behind Josh commented. Another added with a mock tone.

"They got completely embarrassed in the last match because of Josh. If it were me, I'd probably be unable to sleep from frustration."

"Those idiots can't even figure it out, they keep getting destroyed every match."

The guys behind chuckled, but Josh wasn’t in the mood for laughter. He was about to take care of that idiot.

How dare he go after my little sister?

What pissed him off the most was that Emma had brought this humiliation upon herself by falling for that idiot, but he couldn’t scold her. Doing that would almost be like admitting he had been spying on her—and even if it was her fault for making a fool of herself in the first place, confronting her with it would only lead to rebellion. Emma's response was always the same.

"Don’t tell me what to do with other people’s preferences!"

Just like that.

So, in the end, Josh's solution was always the same. He had used the same method many times before, and the weaklings around Emma would always disappear without a trace as soon as he even blew on them.
