Vol. 2 Ch. 4
Vol. 2 Ch. 4
As the end of the shoot drew closer, Chase's footage decreased, and so did the work for the bodyguards. Days off became more frequent, and Chase also had more days where he spent the whole day in his trailer with nothing to do.
Thanks to that, the bodyguards had much more free time. They took turns going out or even extended their breaks, sometimes disappearing for longer periods. For the past few days, they had been enjoying their time as though they were on vacation.
What they all wished for was simple. They hoped this peace would continue until the filming was over. Afterward, they had already made plans to stop by Miami for about a month of rest before heading back east. They were all eagerly awaiting that day, enjoying each moment.
After Josh went out for his shift, the other members gathered in their accommodation, passing the time in their own ways. After a few hours of rest, they would have to rotate again. But for now, enjoying the peace in front of them, they spread out, and Isaac, who had been staring blankly out the window for a while, finally spoke up.
“Isn’t Josh acting strange lately?”
At his sudden words, Seth, who had been doing the crossword puzzle in the newspaper, stopped, and Mark, who had been carefully polishing his surfboard, frowned and looked up. The one who had been caught off guard was Henry. Holding a mug of coffee in one hand, tossing peanuts into the air to catch them in his mouth, he panicked and missed his aim for a second.
“Cough, cough, cough!”
“Henry!”
Mark hurriedly patted his back, and Henry, who had almost choked on the peanuts, barely managed to recover. After passing the moment of near-death, his anger flared up. He immediately shot a glare at the man who had caused the problem.
“Damn it. What’s with you, suddenly?”
With tears in his eyes, Henry clenched his teeth, and Isaac, seeing his reaction, quickly apologized.
“Ah, sorry... Are you okay? I didn’t think you’d be so shocked…”
Knowing it was no big deal only made Henry angrier. Ignoring Seth’s expression as if he were pitying him and Mark’s clear look of disdain, Isaac’s obliviousness was the biggest problem.
Did he not know what was wrong after I confessed that I liked him and suddenly brought up Josh? That damn idiot.
The most frustrating thing was that he hadn’t been able to brush off the confession and had revealed his true feelings. The problem was that no one else understood the seriousness of the situation. As proof, Isaac was looking at him with his usual dumb expression, Seth shook his head and then looked at Isaac as if urging him to speak, and Mark, after only muttering a caution, returned to his seat.
I’m the most insane for liking this idiot, Henry thought. Feeling sick from the conflicting desires to beat him senseless and kiss him passionately, he fell into self-loathing when Seth finally spoke up.
“What do you mean by strange?”
Mark, too, looked at Isaac curiously, and Henry, still gritting his teeth, glared at him. With all eyes on him, Isaac awkwardly scratched his head.
