?Chapter 39: Chapter 37: Injuring the Examiner? Suspected of Cheating Chapter 39: Chapter 37: Injuring the Examiner? Suspected of Cheating On the stage, Luo Yong and various representatives of prominent forces were chatting and laughing lively, waiting for the students to line up and complete the comprehensive test.
Luo Yong certainly made quite an impression today, looking spirited and full of vim.
Amid the laughter, his remarks were interspersed with barbs and taunts, relentlessly mocking and pressing Che Yongyuan.
It was a blatant case of “kicking someone when they’re down.”
Che Yongyuan tried to retaliate several times only to be metaphorically choked back, steam nearly billowing from the top of his head in frustration.
He wanted to storm off, but the task Chen Fei had assigned him was not yet complete, leaving him truly between a rock and a hard place.
Luo Yong’s shameless demeanor of “I have no etiquette, I’m petty, and I love to beat the downed dog” provoked silent chuckles among the representatives, but also genuine admiration.
They could see that Luo Yong was extremely protective of his students, sincerely not wanting them to suffer any slight.
Having such a principal was a stroke of luck for the students.
Luo Yong, meanwhile, was secretly grateful to Chu Feng in his heart: ‘This kid is my lucky star, oh, how satisfying it was to spray today!
“If he manages to secure the recommendation slots from the three top schools at this convention, that would indeed be a complete achievement!”
Just then, someone summoned Secretary Li Peng from below the stage, who quietly stepped down.
After a short while, he hastened back to Luo Yong’s ear, urgently whispering a message.
Seeing this interaction, the representatives tactfully provided space for the two to converse privately.
Che Yongyuan was tempted to eavesdrop, but just as he perked up his ears, he heard Luo Yong exclaim in surprise, “What?!”
The representatives were startled and looked towards Luo Yong, whose face was filled with disbelief.
Li Peng gritted his teeth and repeated in Luo Yong’s ear: “Chu Feng, he… he crushed the examiner’s palm!”
Luo Yong was completely dumbfounded upon hearing this, and the first thought that popped into his mind was:
‘No wonder he’s got that nickname, Chu Feng truly is insane!
‘Lucky star? Lucky my ass! The century-long reputation of Protectorate High School is doomed to be ruined by his hands!’
…
Let’s rewind to just when Chu Feng entered the testing room.
He pushed open the door, entered the testing room, which was not very large, about fifty-plus square meters.
The room was constructed using lightweight soundproofing materials that effectively blocked noise from both inside and outside.
This was to prevent any disturbance to the examinees, and also to prevent any information from being leaked.
Standing at the entrance were two examiners, a man and a woman. The male examiner, with a poker face, reminded:
“Please place any personal weapons on the table, and do not bring any metal objects or other restricted items. Violators will be disqualified from the examination.”
Chu Feng nodded to indicate he understood, placed his Tang Sword on the table, walked through the checkpoint, and entered the test room.
Inside the room, three sophisticated, large machines were arranged side by side, humming softly.
The one on the far side looked like a huge cabinet, over three meters tall, painted in iron grey.
Rows of dense cables wrapped around the entire apparatus, with blue gleams occasionally flashing across the edges.
On the twin glass doors hung a ghostly human silhouette, beside it was a column of parameters that currently showed zeros.
The second machine resembled a small cannon, with “the barrel” connected to a grey, spherical unit about a meter tall.
The “barrel” was tilted upwards, housing a hand-shaped indent inside, next to which stood a screen, currently blank.
The last apparatus looked like something out of a sci-fi film, a conical sleep pod with a streamlined, silver appearance.
Its smooth metal surface periodically rippled with red light, giving it a futuristic vibe.
The female examiner directed, “The device you’re facing is a physical test machine, which conducts a comprehensive assessment of your physique.”
“The evaluation results will be immediately displayed on the screen and will also be uploaded to the database of our school as well as to the Eastern Region division of the Academy Alliance.”
“All units qualified to recommend candidates may apply to view this data.”
“The test results from the subsequent two instruments will also follow this rule.”
“If the candidate agrees, please enter the physical examination instrument.”
Chu Feng, silent, pulled open the glass door and stood inside.
Following the prompt, he stood within the circular ring at the center of the physical examination instrument, as the doors slowly closed and locked.
In an instant, the dimly lit inner space lit up, the instrument emitted a tremendous roar and began to vibrate at a high frequency.
Then a steel ring, wrapped with electrical wires and glowing with a circle of blue lights, slowly descended from above his head.
Accompanied by a buzzing sound, it scanned him from head to toe and then slowly lifted again, a process that lasted about five minutes.
The human silhouette on the glass door began to solidify slowly, the parameters on the right side scrolling wildly, and finally concluded at the bottom:
Comprehensive Evaluation Score: 19.6.
Martial Apprentice Stage Reference Range: 1-3.
Evaluation Comment: Unable to evaluate, recommend retesting.
Chu Feng had grown accustomed to his Attributes and did not notice anything wrong, thinking to himself:
‘This result differs from what the system displays, there might be some error with the instrument.’
“Hiss… What the fuck!”
“Impossible!” Two screams rang out at the same time, interrupting Chu Feng’s thoughts.
He looked up to see the two previously expressionless examiners, their eyes now nearly popping out of their sockets.
They stared intently at the score and evaluation on the glass door, their hair standing on end, their faces filled with disbelief.
“Impossible, how can this be, how can a Martial Apprentice have this value?”
The male examiner shook his head in doubt of life itself and, upon a sudden recollection, hurried to the instrument to press a few controls, and the glass door immediately opened.
He said sternly, “Student, please step out for a moment, I need to check you again!”
The female examiner with an acne-marked face also showed a look of disdain on her face, watchfully staring at Chu Feng’s hands to prevent any foul play.
They suspected that Chu Feng had fooled the detection door by bringing prohibited items that could affect the instrument’s evaluation into the examination area.
Or perhaps more drastically, he had ingested special drugs that caused the instrument to misjudge.
Such issues had occurred in past major examinations.
Some candidates had ingested banned drugs in advance, then sneaked into the examination area by unfair means, aiming for a better result.
Chu Feng sighed helplessly, nodded, and stepped out of the instrument, raising his arms to let the male examiner search him from top to bottom:
“Examiner teacher, I mean, isn’t there a possibility that my physique is naturally strong?”
Since entering the Martial Arts Field that morning, Chu Feng had not planned to hide anything anymore.
Because he knew, today’s test results could not possibly be concealed.
All forces that had selected their targets, as well as the major universities, could apply to view the students’ scores to evaluate their potential.
Though the number of times they could check scores was limited, no one would bother with the scores of ordinary students.
But Chu Feng was clearly an exception—he was bound to become the target of many, and his scores simply could not be hidden at all.
Wang Weiguo had given him a heads up before the exam that Luo Yong would place him at the top of the excellent students’ list.
Wang Weiguo said it was for his own good, so he could bypass the examination procedure and directly enter a top university.
If someone took notice, there was also a good chance at one of the top three institutions of the Academy Alliance.
Having decided to be admitted to Yan Capital University and soar high with Wang Xuerui, he no longer had any objections to this.
Now, his only worry was whether he was strong enough to achieve his goal.
