Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 333 99 Alice's Pocket Watch_2

Chapter 333 99 Alice's Pocket Watch_2

"Alright, I know you're a bit worried, so how about this, Valke and Phyllis can come over to be my assistants," the girl had to mediate in this manner.

"Hmm, that should be safer," Deloris thought for a moment, then squatted down slightly, lifted the skirt on her waist, and took out a small object hanging on the inside of her skirt.

It was a delicate pocket watch, with a silver casing and fine patterns at the bottom. When opened, it contained a white hand, and the inside was decorated with vine and rose patterns.

"This..." Kinsenke looked at the pocket watch Deloris had taken out with a surprised expression, then leaned in closer to inspect it carefully, noticing that the pattern on the bottom of the watch depicted a rabbit wearing a hat.

"My uncle actually prepared this kind of thing for you, no wonder he is reassured about letting you go out," he said, somewhat enviously.

"What is this?" Ruby asked curiously, looking at the exquisitely beautiful pocket watch that resembled a piece of art.

"This is a special item from the massive corporation 'Alice's Timepiece Artisans,' called 'Alice's Pocket Watch.' They are known for these unique items, which have allowed them to remain unshakeable," Kinsenke explained.

"It is a transcendent item capable of stopping time, each selling at an exorbitant price, most of which can only be obtained through auctions. To prevent misuse and maintain their value, the corporation releases only a very small number on the market each year."

"In case of sudden attacks, this pocket watch can freeze time in the vicinity, giving one ample time to respond and react. Because of this feature, high-ranking officials in the Federation often wear them, foiling many assassination attempts."

"Many corporations have tried to unlock the secrets of such items, but for hundreds of years, none have succeeded. Currently, only the 'Three-Pointer Workshop's Time-Delay Device has a similar effect, but compared to 'Alice's Pocket Watch,' the difference is like heaven and earth."

"Tilan, you take it for now. I'm safer staying here and won't need it for the time being," said Deloris as she placed the watch in the girl's hand and hugged her.

"This... actually isn't necessary," she couldn't well say that even without such an item, she could achieve a similar effect, and perhaps even go further.

"Don't make me worry," Deloris whispered in the girl's ear, causing the black-haired girl to blush slightly.

"Alright, I'll return it to you when this is over," the girl reluctantly accepted, and after thinking it over, she took a pendant with a pale blue gem on a silver chain out of her pocket (actually from her storage space).

"I'll give this to Deloris. It's a small prop I made earlier, and it offers some protection." What mattered more was its tracking feature. If Deloris really found herself in danger, she could arrive in time.

"Then I'll accept it," Deloris said with easy grace, wearing the pendant around her neck and tucking it into her bosom.

"Alright, it's getting late. You guys rest while Valke, Phyllis, and I go check out the situation," Tilan said as she got ready, and then she left the resting spot with the others.

Watching the three disappear into the night, Kinsenke looked at Deloris sitting by the fire and fiddling with her pendant and then at the rest of the group preparing dinner and resting. He walked over to N.

"Teacher, aren't you worried about Tilan?" he felt the teacher was too calm today.

"Tilan? Worried, yes, worried that she might encounter an accident," N leaned against the windowsill, squeezing a can of beer from who knows where.

"Then you?"

"But, there's a limit to worry. I also have a duty to protect you all. I can't very well tag along, can I?" He shook his head and sipped his self-chilled beer.

"Don't think for a moment that Tilan is without power for protection. Rest assured, this lovable girl is the Academy's sweetheart. Those old men wouldn't feel at ease with just me looking after her."

"Who else is there? How come I didn't notice anyone on the way?" Kinsenke's interest was piqued now.

"How would I know, I'm just a teacher, not a member of the Academy's board. But, if you just use your brain a little and look up at the sky, you'll understand," N replied.

"The sky?" Kinsenke looked towards the brilliant night sky outside the window, where stars filled the heavens, presenting a spacious and beautiful scene.

"Could it be a satellite." If their journey was tracked by a dedicated satellite, almost all the events along the way could be monitored under the high-definition satellite surveillance.

But, even though he was also a corporate heir, Kinsenke didn't think he was important enough to warrant the Academy mobilizing a satellite to monitor him, after all, this involved too much, and it would need to be reported to the Star Domain government.

"Forget it, I can't be bothered to guess anymore, since the teacher seems so confident, I'll just assume you have all sorts of backup plans." Kinsenke couldn't be bothered to think any further, and he was a bit sleepy now, after all the ducking and hiding today, and it had been very unsafe in the city earlier, so he hadn't rested well.

Afterward, he settled down by the fire, got a warmed-up can, and began eating his dinner.

"Such an easygoing kid." N looked at Kinsenke, who had given up on guessing and thinking, and couldn't help but smile – the guy was indeed carefree.

However, the fact that Deloris managed to get a special item from "Alice's Pocket Watch Craftsman" was no simple matter. It looked like "Incense Workshop" had significant influence in the Central Star Domain. Logically speaking, "Incense Workshop," while a decent luxury brand, should have influence limited to the vicinity of the Four-Leaf Crystal Star Domain. At this point, N's thoughts drifted elsewhere again.

Elsewhere, Tilan was leading the two of them through high-rises, finally stopping on a rooftop. This place was roughly in the middle area, with a good view.

"Let's stop here," Tilan suddenly halted.

"You should have some understanding of my strength, facing the situation here, I am not in danger," she said as she turned around, her black hair fluttering lightly in the night breeze, her whole demeanor colder and more different than usual.

"President..." Phyllis still wanted to persuade her, even though he had seen Tilan freezing the land that night, he was still somewhat worried.

The girl who knew what he was thinking shook her head and then looked at Valke, "Stay here with Phyllis. I will inform you if there's any situation halfway."

"Understood,"

Valke straightforwardly accepted the order. His strength could be ranked in the top three of the team, and he understood more clearly the strength of the girl before him. Although they were both Sequence 4, even five Transcendents of his same strength would have difficulty overcoming this girl.

"I'll head out now." With a slight nod, the girl leaped down from the building, her clothes and hair fluttered by the downward airflow, and then she vanished into the night.

"She's gone just like that?" Watching where the girl disappeared, Phyllis still had some surprise, and finally began to believe that their club's president was not the frail, gentle, and harmless girl everyone imagined.

...

Moving swiftly between the high-rise buildings, avoiding various lights, without the burden of her companions, Tilan's speed increased even more. She opened her senses, and the scenes of the surrounding night became clear in her mind, allowing her to easily avoid the gazes of people around her.

After traveling a long distance in such a way, she stopped in front of an old house, leapt directly into it from the second floor, then opened a drawer facing the window, and took out an envelope, inside of which were rough sketches indicating locations and markers.

This was the storage location of information that Red Hat had told her about before, labeled on the sketch were the headquartered location of "Furnace Iron Energy" and the potential whereabouts of its highest leader.

"Head to Furnace Iron first, then to Black Hammer afterwards, and try to finish the mission before dawn. Otherwise, stopping only one side won't be effective," she planned in her mind.

Soon, she vanished into the night again, while in the distance, within the cluster of buildings, a series of deep red Mechas moved through the streets and among the high-rises, constantly maneuvering to avoid enemy fire and bombardments, then relying on their shoulder-mounted machine guns to shoot back at resisting forces.

In the center surrounded by these deep red Mechas, a complex of buildings encased by high walls stood. Inside, steam and steel roared, with numerous workers and Autonomous Units moving about, refining the raw materials before casting them into wartime apparatuses.

Hot branding irons fell from time to time, imprinting burning symbols onto just-produced firearms and Mechas, and these freshly-made weapons were quickly distributed to members of the group, arming them.

Even though night had fallen, the firefight in the city didn't stop, with both sides still searching for each other's weaknesses.
