?Chapter 357: Chapter 358 Surgery (4) _1 Chapter 357: Chapter 358 Surgery (4) _1 Jing Haohao had been feeling unwell these past few days, and Liang Chen didn’t touch her. On the morning of the fifth day, it was barely seven o’clock when Liang Chen received a call from his assistant. Without having time for breakfast, he quickly packed up the customer information he brought from the office and prepared to leave the house.
By this time, Jing Haohao had already gotten up. She was dressed in fluffy pajamas and when she saw Liang Chen adjusting his tie on the way to the door, she took his documents from Nanny Lin’s hands and escorted him out.
Ever since the quarrel on New Year’s Day, the couple hardly spoke to each other. Therefore, Liang Chen was somewhat taken aback when he saw the documents handed over by Jing Haohao, lifting his head to look at her.
That night, certainly, he might have lost his temper a bit. He had thought about apologizing, but he had always been the center of attention, and whenever he did something wrong, it was always others who would offer him an easy way out. This inevitably cultivated his prideful and conceited nature. So many times, he had tried to apologize but found himself unable to say it out loud.
At this moment, seeing Jing Haohao bid him goodbye on his way to work, Liang Chen’s heart instantly melted. He hadn’t comprehended before what it signified to love someone. Now he understands – love means that a single unreflective act on her part can make him vulnerable and entirely yield to her.
Liang Chen looked at Jing Haohao for a while, stretching out his hand, not to take the documents but instead, touched Jing Haohao’s long hair, like a husband hurrying to work reminding his beloved little wife. He gently said in a soft and gentle voice, “Hurry back inside, the weather outside is so cold. With your health still frail, be careful not to catch a cold.”
Jing Haohao nodded silently.
Liang Chen adjusted Jing Haohao’s pajama collar, and said to Nanny Lin, who was standing behind Jing Haohao, “Please take Miss Jing inside for breakfast. I have to go to work.”
“Yes, Mr. Chen.”
Liang Chen turned his head and gave Jing Haohao a smile. He bent down, kissed her cheek, took the documents from her hand, and hurriedly got into the car.
However, Liang Chen did not rush to start the car and leave. Instead, he wound down the window and said to Jing Haohao again, “Go back inside.”
Hearing this, Nanny Lin immediately opened the door, “Miss Jing, please go in.”
Jing Haohao gave Liang Chen a faint smile, then turned around and entered the villa.
Liang Chen sat in the car, watching Jing Haohao’s figure disappear behind the door. His eyes flashed lightly, his lips curled into a gentle smile as if he was in a good mood. He then stepped on the gas and expertly drove away.
Jing Haohao’s day was just like any other; she had breakfast in the dining room, watched some TV upstairs, and then had lunch. After lunch, Jing Haohao glanced at the time – it was already one o’clock. She had a surgery appointment at three. So she went upstairs, changed into going-out clothes, and came back downstairs, telling Nanny Lin, “I’m going downtown.”
