She then took out an invitation from her bag and handed it to Jing Haohao: “This is the invitation to Liangnian’s and my wedding in a while. We’ve started sending them out today. It’s a good thing we ran into you; saves us the trouble of mailing it to you later.”
Jing Haohao looked at the hot-stamped, red-colored invitation. On it was a big double-happiness symbol along with Shen Liangnian’s and Qiao Wennuan’s wedding picture. Her eyes twinkled slightly; she took it with a smile and said to both Qiao Wennuan and Shen Liangnian: “Congratulations to you.”
“If there’s nothing else, Liangnian and I will get going. I don’t really like the curtains in the bridal chamber, so we are here to pick out new ones.”
Jing Haohao nodded but didn’t say anything. She didn’t look at Shen Liangnian either. She simply turned around and left the mall.
Qiao Wennuan, arm in arm with Shen Liangnian, saw that Jing Haohao had walked quite a distance away and yet he was frozen in place, couldn’t help but ask, “Liangnian, what are you thinking about?”
“Nothing.” Shen Liangnian came back to reality, gave Qiao Wennuan a gentle smile, turned around, and walked into the mall.

The surgery wasn’t a major one, but it still sapped a lot of Jing Haohao’s energy due to the pain. The whole experience left her feeling weak all over. Immediately upon returning to the villa, she collapsed onto the bed.
Despite not feeling sleepy, Jing Haohao decided to take out the wedding invitation from Shen Liangnian and Qiao Wennuan from her bag after lying down for a while. She stared at it in front of her face for a while and felt her eyes turning sour. Then she put it aside, snuggled up in her blanket, and closed her eyes.
When Jing Haohao woke up, it was already 7 p.m. Nanny Lin told her that Liang Chen would be dining with a foreign client and would probably come home late, so she should rest first.
Since she couldn’t share the bed with anyone for two weeks after the surgery, she was quite fine with this arrangement. She nodded, then headed for the bathroom.
