?Chapter 397: Chapter 398: Farewell (2)_1 Chapter 397: Chapter 398: Farewell (2)_1 Miss Su guided Jing Haohao to the sofa in the secretary’s room and personally poured her a cup of coffee: “Miss Jing, Mr. Liang is having a meeting in that conference room. It probably won’t end for another hour. You can hang on here for a bit.”
Jing Haohao didn’t want to interrupt Miss Su’s work, so she flashed a smile and said, “I understand. You go ahead with your tasks. I can wait here by myself.”
After giving it some thought, Miss Su fetched a large pile of magazines and an iPad as well: “Miss Jing, I have a few documents to process. If you find the waiting tedious, you can watch a movie or read a magazine. If you need anything, just let me know.”
The entire company was very quiet, save for the occasional footsteps of people rushing past with documents in hand. Jing Haohao had no earphones to use, and seeing Miss Su busy taking calls and typing away on her computer, she didn’t want to disturb her. So, she simply started flipping through the magazines that Miss Su had brought over.
Most of them were business magazines, none of which interested Jing Haohao. In the end, she lazily leaned back on the sofa, glancing around at Liang Chen’s company.
This was her first visit. The office was decorated simply yet elegantly. The wall paintings it bore seemed to be priceless collectibles.
Apart from Mr. Liang’s office, the other offices and meeting rooms had walls made of glass. The furniture inside, including tables, was entirely white.
Jing Haohao’s gaze wandered and landed on one of the meeting rooms. Liang Chen was seated right in the center, talking about something with a solemn look, while the people around him listened attentively, either taking notes or jotting things down in their notebooks.
At that moment, the setting sun dyed the entire conference room red through the transparent glass, adding a warm hue to it.
Liang Chen, dressed in a black suit, sat upright. Although his face was not overly expressive, he nonetheless exuded an unapproachable and privileged air.
The scene was so mesmerizing that Jing Haohao got lost in it for a moment.
“Miss Jing, Miss Jing?”
Caught by surprise, Jing Haohao lifted her head to find Miss Su looking at her with a smile: “Miss Jing, can I offer you something else to drink?”
Jing Haohao shook her head.
Miss Su nodded with the same smile as before, her gaze momentarily landing on the conference room where Liang Chen was, before saying “The meeting should end shortly.”
Aware that Miss Su was indirectly referring to her gazing at Liang Chen a moment ago, a flush crept up Jing Haohao’s cheeks. She stood up and said, “I will go to the restroom.”
“It’s to the left.”
Jing Haohao quickly retorted with a “thank you,” before rushing off.
