?Chapter 435: Chapter 436: Meeting (8)_1 Chapter 435: Chapter 436: Meeting (8)_1 Upon hearing Jin’s words, Jing Haohao felt as if a hammer was violently pounding against her head, causing her to grow dizzy. Her trembling fingers dropped the bag of lunch she was carrying. The vegetables and rice scattered across the floor, the gravy spread everywhere, releasing wave after wave of fragrance.
“Haohao? Why are you so tense? Our performance has been great. The boss is definitely not out to criticize you. Plus, you’re so pretty and our boss has yet to get married. Who knows, he might have his eyes on you.” Unaware of the details, Jin came over to Jing Haohao, patted her shoulders, and said, “Hurry up and go. I’ll clean up this mess.”
Jing Haohao forced a calm expression and nodded at Jin. She muttered an apology and headed towards the elevator on the first floor.
She took the express elevator. Due to the large crowd in the shopping mall that afternoon, she had to wait quite a bit before she could enter the elevator.
Just like Jin had stated, she was merely an insignificant employee in the mall. Her performance was neither the best nor the worst, so she was not likely to draw much attention from the management, especially not from the boss.
Hence, the first thought that popped into Jing Haohao’s mind was that Liang Chen had arrived.
As she stood inside the ascending elevator, watching the red numbers indicating each floor, her legs turned softer. She felt her mood turning increasingly bleak.
It’s only been half a day… and he’s already here?
How can that be possible?
The higher the elevator went, the fewer people were in it. By the time it reached the topmost floor, Jing Haohao was the only occupant left.
As the elevator doors opened, she hadn’t even stepped out when she saw the boss’s secretary smiling warmly at her, “Jing Haohao, right?”
Jing Haohao nodded.
As the secretary led Jing Haohao to the CEO’s office, she mentioned, “The CEO has been waiting for you for quite some time.”
Jing Haohao forced a smile.
The secretary knocked on the door and from inside came a voice, “Come in.”
The secretary opened the door, “CEO, Jing Haohao is here.”
After saying that, the secretary stepped aside and told Jing Haohao, “Go on in.”
Jing Haohao steeled herself and walked in, only to find, in addition to her boss, another man in a black suit, his face stern and unfamiliar.
Jing Haohao glanced around at the three people in the office, her gaze finally landing on her boss. “CEO, you wanted to see me?” she asked.
“You are Jing Haohao?”
Jing Haohao nodded in surprise.
The CEO turned towards the two seated men and politely asked, “Do you think she is the person you’re looking for?”
One of the men studied Jing Haohao’s face for a moment before asking, “You’re from Jiangshan City, right? Jing Haohao, a contracted artist of TS Entertainment Company, correct?”
Jing Haohao hadn’t expected them to know her background so clearly. She nodded in surprise again.
Then, the two strangers in front of her abruptly stood up. Their previously stern faces now bore smiles. They courteously addressed her, “Miss Jing, we’ve come especially to meet you. Please come with us, someone would like to see you.”
People who’ve come specifically for her? And they’re two strangers?
Jing Haohao stood rooted to the spot, mildly on guard.
