?Chapter 500: Chapter 501 Mrs. Liang (7)_1 Chapter 500: Chapter 501 Mrs. Liang (7)_1 Liang Chen’s mother looked straight at Jing Haohao and walked over just when Jing Haohao was about to greet her with a call of “Auntie” along with Liang Chen. She took Jing Haohao by the hand, examined her from head to toe, and was pleased with what she saw: “So you’re Haohao. You’re indeed beautiful – far more so than the photographs Chen sent me.”

Jing Haohao had always presumed that this unattainable family would be noble and difficult to communicate with. She hadn’t expected Chen’s highest-ranking mother, whom she had been observing from a distance, to be so approachable.

The anxiety in Jing Haohao’s heart instantly subsided, and the knot in her chest loosened.

Liang Chen’s father and his older brother returned to the old house together.

Liang Chen introduced Jing Haohao to his father and older brother with an unusual seriousness.

Liang Chen’s elder brother, Liang Yuan, like their father, was meticulous and exuded a stern aura that was naturally intimidating, giving off a sense of authority.

Jing Haohao stood up and respectfully greeted them.

Liang Yuan gave Jing Haohao a smile, and while Liang Chen’s father merely nodded, after examining Jing Hao Hao, his gaze softened.

While everyone was seated at the dining table, Liang Chen introduced everyone from the Liang family to Jing Haohao. Jing had greeted each one in turn but since there were so many people, she struggled to remember who was who.

Fortunately, during the meal, when someone asked her a question, Liang Chen would turn his head attentively to Jing Haohao and say, “Your great-aunt is asking you.”

“My third aunt never served me food.”

“This dish is my sister-in-law’s specialty; taste it quickly.”

To Jing Haohao, these seemingly casual words from Chen were reminders disguised as small talk, to prevent embarrassment due to her inability to identify the relatives.

Midway through the meal, Liang Chen put down his chopsticks and, in a particularly calm tone, announced sincerely to everyone present: “Since everyone is here today, I’ll say it outright. Jing Haohao and I are planning to get married soon, the sooner the better.”

Liang Chen’s mother glanced at Jing Haohao. Although she had hoped for her son to get married soon, this felt somewhat rushed: “Chen, your father and your brother are kind of busy lately. It wouldn’t hurt to get married after their work lightens up.”

Liang Chen smiled at his mother, acting as if he didn’t understand his mother’s concerns, and continued: “Actually, Haohao and I are still quite young. We truly aren’t in a hurry to get married. But what’s in a hurry is the child in Haohao’s belly.”

Liang Chen deliberately emphasized the words “in Haohao’s belly”. After speaking, he calmly scanned his father, mother, and everyone present — observing their reactions.

Child, child… Liang Chen’s mother was initially taken aback before her gaze rested on Jing Haohao’s stomach. Then she asked, “You’re pregnant?”

Compared to his mother’s astonishment, Liang Chen seemed even more relaxed as he casually responded with a ‘hmm’.

“Haohao, are you pregnant?” Mrs. Liang asked Jing Haohao excitedly. Seeing Jing Haohao nod, Mrs. Liang immediately turned to Liang Chen’s father, saying, “Liang Zhoutian, listen to me, whatever work you and Liang Yuan have, try to put it on hold. All our time now needs to be spent on Chen and Haohao’s wedding.”
