?Chapter 518: Chapter 519: Forever Half Past Eight (3)_1 Chapter 518: Chapter 519: Forever Half Past Eight (3)_1 Liang Yuan, who was naturally perceptive, lifted his head at the exact moment Jing Haohao’s gaze met with him.
There was no strong emotion in his eyes, he simply responded by nodding slightly at her.
From a floor above, Jing Haohao was looking down at him, but she felt a heavy sense of pressure deep down.
Jing Haohao smiled politely at Liang Yuan, got into the elevator and made her way to the couch. Even though they were legally married, they had not held a wedding ceremony yet, so Jing Haohao was not sure how to address Liang Yuan. She settled for a simple greeting, “Hello, Mr. Liang.”
Liang Yuan glanced at the sofa across from him, “Please sit, Miss Jing.”
Jing Haohao didn’t say anything, she just sat down.
Liang Yuan appeared much more relaxed and natural than Jing Haohao, and didn’t mind her silence. He asked, “Where is Chen?”
“He’s at work right now,” answered Jing Haohao. She looked uneasy and glanced at Nanny Lin, “Nanny Lin, could you call Chen and ask him when he’ll be coming back?”
“No need.” Liang Yuan interrupted Jing Haohao before Nanny Lin could respond, smiling at her. “I came here on my father’s orders to check how the wedding preparations are going. Is there anything you haven’t prepared yet?”
Jing Haohao shook her head, “Thank you for your concern, Mr. Liang. Nearly everything has been prepared.”
Liang Yuan nodded, still smiling, “That’s very considerate of you, Miss Jing. You can just call me ‘big brother’ like Chen does. You don’t need to be so formal.”
Jing Haohao lightly nodded again without saying anything.
How could she possibly call him ‘big brother’ when he kept addressing her so formally?
The atmosphere in the room briefly became silent. Nanny Lin, perceptive as she is, promptly asked with a smile, “Mr. Yuan, would you like a drink? I’ll prepare something for you.”
Only then, did Jing Haohao realize that Liang Yuan had been in the room for quite some time before he received even a glass of water. She quickly stood up, embarrassed, “I’ll prepare it. I apologize for my oversight.”
“Longjing tea,” Liang Yuan asked without any modesty, looking at Jing Haohao with a smile.
Jing Haohao quickly headed towards the dining room with Nanny Lin following behind her.
The tea was a fine Longjing, specially brought from West Lake.
Brewed in boiling water, it let out a delicate aroma.
Jing Haohao carried the tray to the living room and gently placed it on the coffee table. She was about to pour Liang Yuan a cup of tea when he said, “This tea’s nice. Chen certainly has good taste.”
Jing Haohao managed a small smile and handed the poured tea to Liang Yuan.
However, Liang Yuan did not reach out his hand to take it. Instead his eyes were fixed on Jing Haohao, scrutinizing her unabashedly.
Jing Haohao felt a wave of unease under his gaze, she forced a smile and gently placed the tea cup on the coffee table in front of Liang Yuan. She then sat down on a nearby couch, slightly avoiding Liang Yuan’s direct gaze.
Liang Yuan lowered his gaze with a smile, picked up the tea cup, and slowly took a sip. He then turned his gaze back to Jing Haohao.
His gaze was kindly and seemingly harmless.
