?Chapter 523: Chapter 524: Forever Half Past Eight (8)_1 Chapter 523: Chapter 524: Forever Half Past Eight (8)_1 Such a conversation, seamless as it seemed, didn’t reveal any flaw.
But who thought that it was all just an act.
The bedroom door was shut quietly. Jing Haohao looked up to see that Liang Yuan had calmly made his return. He sat, perfectly neat, across from her on the couch. He took a sip from the cup in front of him, then eyed her intently before finally saying, “Miss Jing, given the situation, I think it’s time we had a frank discussion.”
Liang Yuan asked several questions before Jing Haohao could even respond.
“What motivated Miss Jing to go into Mr. Chen’s hotel room? ”
“Why did Miss Jing decide to have an IUD insertion procedure after being with Mr. Chen?”
“Does Mr. Chen know Miss Jing had undertaken this procedure?”
“Was Miss Jing aware, in advance, that she was never pregnant?”
“Miss Jing, please answer my first question.”
Jing Haohao thought to herself, how eerily similar this manner of questioning resembled an interrogation. Now, she was certain that she was indeed being treated like a criminal suspect.
She wasn’t foolish. She understood that he was questioning her motives with Liang Chen: suspecting her of being like the countless women of the world who tried to grab wealth by hook or by crook.
However, her mind was not centered on Liang Yuan’s interrogations. It was filled with thoughts connected to Liang Chen. She was not pregnant, so why did Liang Chen still insist on getting that marriage license with her?
She had made it very clear to him that she only married him because of the expecting child.
Didn’t he marry her for the same reason?
Without the child, why would she obtain the rightful status of Mrs. Liang Chen, a position desired by countless women?
Jing Haohao’s thoughts were entangled; she had lost track of the current situation amid all these speculations and did not know what to say to Liang Yuan. As a result, she could only sit rigidly.
She appeared frail and fragile, her complexion pale, overall giving off a pitiful aura that made others want to care for her and refrain from speaking harshly.
Sitting across Jing Haohao, Liang Yuan slightly furrowed his brows. Was it all an act to deceive Liang Chen?
“Does Miss Jing’s silence imply that I should interpret it as affirming my understanding?”
Jing Haohao raised her head, meeting Liang Yuan’s gaze.
Liang Yuan calmly said, “Should I take Miss Jing’s scheming to mean that her ultimate aim is to marry into the Liang family?”
His simple question dispelled the confusion within Jing Haohao’s heart caused by Liang Chen.
She clearly saw the contempt in Liang Yuan’s eyes.
“Miss Jing, while our family doesn’t judge based on social class and is willing to accept any woman with pure intentions as a part of our family, we cannot accept a woman full of deceit and manipulation,” he continued. “Therefore, Miss Jing, I came here today on behalf of myself and Mr. Chen’s father to ask you to leave while Mr. Chen is not here. If you agree, I promise not to inform him about your past deeds, and the two of you can part amicably.”
With that said, Liang Yuan pulled out an airplane ticket from his pocket, pushed it over to Jing Haohao, and commented, “This flight leaves at six o’clock this afternoon.”
