?Chapter 677: Chapter 678 Girlfriend (10)_1 Chapter 677: Chapter 678 Girlfriend (10)_1 Jing Haohao was charging her phone while calling Liang Chen.

Time quietly slipped away within her grasp.

As Jing Haohao noticed the crowd dwindling in the airport, and even the taxis outside becoming scarce, she felt a growing unease deep inside her.

Liang Chen had been standing by the window for a full eight hours, unresponsive.

His mind was blank, devoid of any thought.

He watched as the day outside the window turned into night, as Christmas Eve lights meticulously prepared by everyone brightened up the city, but he remained static, immobile.

It was only when the sounds of fireworks exploding in the sky reached him that Liang Chen was abruptly brought back to reality, only to realize how dark it had already become.

As his consciousness slowly returned, he instinctively turned to look at the time. It was already half past ten at night. Why hadn’t Jing Haohao come home yet?

With a furrowed brow, Liang Chen subconsciously walked out of the room. He pulled out his phone from his suit jacket pocket, and on checking the screen, he discovered that he had missed seventy-three calls, all from Jing Haohao, in addition to over twenty text messages.

Liang Chen’s heart suddenly turned into a mess. He lost all sense of concern and jealousy, and without a second thought, dialed Jing Haohao’s number.

She had been at the airport for a full three hours, and Liang Chen had ignored her all this while.

Had he truly decided not to have her in his life anymore?

Jing Haohao clutched her phone, feeling a hollow emptiness inside.

Just as she was on the brink of despair, her phone suddenly buzzed in her hand.

When Jing Haohao looked down and saw that the incoming call was from Liang Chen, she instinctively widened her eyes, leaning closer to double-check. Upon confirming that it was indeed Liang Chen’s call, tears spilled out of her, rolling down her cheeks. She hastily accepted the call, only to hear Liang Chen’s slightly hoarse and anxious voice, “Haohao? Where are you now?”

Upon hearing Liang Chen’s familiar voice, Jing Haohao broke into sobs, her tears falling harder. She felt so terribly wronged, but she couldn’t bring herself to speak a word, only managing to cry inconsolably.

On the other end of the call, Liang Chen clearly heard her sobs, his heart growing even more anxious. Leaving his jacket behind, he grabbed his car keys and headed for the door.

While pressing the elevator button, Liang Chen asked, “Haohao, can you tell me where you are first?”

Jing Haohao still didn’t speak, now breaking into audible sobs.

Liang Chen quickly left his building, got into his car, started it, and asked again, “Haohao, tell me where you are. I’ll come looking for you now.”

Jing Haohao took a lot of effort to stop her crying, her voice full of blame as she asked, “Why… didn’t you answer my calls…?”

“I’m sorry.” Liang Chen apologized hastily, then once again asked where Jing Haohao was.

On the other end of the line, Jing Haohao sobbed for a while before she stuttered, “I… I… I’m at the airport… in Jiangshan City.”

After assuring her a couple of times on the phone that he would be there as quickly as possible, Jing Haohao agreed, feeling utterly distressed.

Feeling as if a weight had been lifted from her heart after the call ended, Jing Haohao slowly sat down on her luggage. She was still mulling over the bizarre turn of events when her phone buzzed again. It was Liang Chen. No sooner had she answered the call than she saw Liang Chen, phone in hand, hurriedly walking into the airport entrance, anxiously looking left and right.
