Chapter 112 - 112 Meeting
?Chapter 112: Meeting Chapter 112: Meeting Soon after resting, Victoria Garcia and Arnold Johnson drove to an alleyway where there was a sign with the words “Tea Scriptures” on it.
With a hint of curiosity, Victoria entered the tea house called Tea Scriptures with Arnold.
The interior of the tea house was spacious and antique, featuring both a decorative little bridge and flowing water as well as a beautiful woman playing the zither. The atmosphere made it seem like they had traveled back to the slow-pace of ancient times.
“The girl playing the zither right now truly looks like a painting,” Victoria couldn’t help but sigh.
Arnold took her hand and whispered in her ear, “You’re even more beautiful than the person in the painting.”
Most people would like to hear sweet words, and she was no exception.
Soon, they entered a private room where the others had already been waiting.
Victoria glanced around, two men and one woman were present.
Arnold introduced the three to her.
Among them was a younger man named Samuel Nelson, who had fine features, but his eyes appeared to be unfocused, as if his mind was elsewhere.
The older man was Wyatt Lee, giving a stable and incredibly steady impression, though he was actually only 35 years old.
Compared to them, a woman named Candy Foster seemed even younger, her babyface making her seem like she was around Victoria’s age, although she was actually 26 years old.
After a brief conversation, Victoria gained a preliminary understanding of the three’s identities.
Samuel Nelson excelled in finance, with stock market manipulation being his specialty.
Wyatt Lee was good at economics and management.
Candy Foster was the special assistant arranged for her by Arnold Johnson.
So, Victoria understood the purpose of this trip; these three people were sent by Arnold to help her fight against the current Brown Group staff.
Just as Victoria thought this meeting would be a simple opportunity for everyone to get a first impression of each other, something incredible occurred.
Samuel Nelson stepped forward and handed a report directly to Victoria while Arnold sat aside and did nothing.
Victoria opened it and was astonished.
“Did you collect all these?” Victoria looked at the data in the report and asked.
Samuel Nelson replied calmly, “I collected the goods, but the money wasn’t mine.”
Victoria naturally knew the money was from Arnold.
Before Victoria could ask more, Samuel Nelson continued calmly, “To bring down the Brown Group, this amount of goods is still too little. We’ll have to rely on Brother Lee for the massive purchase.”
When Wyatt Lee heard his name, he also stepped forward and handed over a report. He didn’t look down on Victoria as a little kid; the way he looked at her was respectful and serious.
As Victoria read Wyatt Lee’s plan, her eyes were practically shining.
The quickest way to bankrupt the Brown Group would be to make its stock price plummet.
To make a stock fall, you need someone to manipulate the market.
To manipulate a stock, you must satisfy two necessary conditions: having the stocks in hand and having abundant capital.
Of course, even with these two necessary conditions, you still need a breeze to fan the flames – news.
To acquire stocks, you naturally can’t pay a high price; to suppress the stock, you naturally have to sell them short. One bearish news after another would scare retail investors, panic the directors, and eventually, leave no one daring to touch the stock anymore…
