?Chapter 116: How are you doing 3 Chapter 116: How are you doing 3 Victoria Garcia looked somewhat stunned.
“Before, I was alone, but now that I’m not, this kind of fondness is not fair.”
Alexander Mitchell replied, “There’s no fairness or unfairness in feelings, only willingness or unwillingness.”
“I don’t want to have any misunderstandings.”
Alexander, however, laughed. “You don’t trust yourself, nor me, and at the same time, you don’t trust Arnold Johnson either.”
Victoria was taken aback.
“Victoria, we’ve known each other for almost seven years now. Is being friends with me really that unbearable?”
“That’s not what I meant.” Victoria wasn’t good at explaining herself.
Of course, Alexander understood what she meant. She just didn’t want him to keep being infatuated with her.
He shrugged nonchalantly and said, “I’m about to leave Metropolis.”
“For work?”
Alexander Mitchell was older than Victoria by a year, and he should have settled in his job by now.
“Yes, I applied for a transfer to work in the provinces for some experience, and I may go to the XUI Department when I come back.” Alexander laughed softly. “If you ever need my help again, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Even if we have no relationship, I won’t turn you down.”
In Alexander’s heart, this was something he owed Victoria, as well as himself.
“The work in the provinces will be difficult, so take good care of yourself and get enough rest.” Victoria said with friendly concern.
As the two talked about work, they gradually relaxed.
When it was time to part, Alexander offered to drive Victoria home, but she declined.
Alexander didn’t persist, he just watched her figure slowly disappear in front of him.
Halfway through Victoria’s drive, another car stopped her right on the street. Just as she was about to get out of the car to ask why, the person who emerged from the other car stunned her.
Without a word, Arnold Johnson entered Victoria’s car and quickly fastened his seatbelt.
“Keep your eyes on the road, don’t call the police, and turn right after 700 meters.” Arnold spoke quickly as he said this.
“Are you robbing me?” Victoria said, trying to hold back laughter.
“If I had waited any longer, I was afraid someone else might have taken you away.”
Victoria stared at him, confusion in her gaze.
“As soon as I got off the plane, I wanted to surprise you, but then I found you meeting him, so…”
“There’s still a lot of vinegar in the third compartment of the kitchen, you can go home and drink some to calm yourself down.” After saying this, Victoria stepped on the accelerator, and the car sped forward.
Arnold, however, replied with a serious face, “Of course, when I get back, I’ll buy another ten bottles to keep in stock. That amount isn’t enough to drink.”
Victoria couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“For making you laugh, I’ll temporarily forgive your behavior.”
Victoria glanced at him, her face showing a hint of fatigue. He must have had a hard time these past days.
“He applied for the transfer and wanted to say goodbye to me.”
“By the way?” Arnold closed his eyes slightly, his lips pursed. “To show you his determination not to give up?”
“Did you install a listening device on me, or have you developed some kind of clairvoyance?”
Arnold watched as Victoria expertly turned the steering wheel halfway, her profile captivating. The corners of his eyes softened involuntarily. “I installed a detector in your eyes. Whatever you see or think, I know.”
Victoria just chuckled and swiftly turned the steering wheel, making a left turn into Riverway Street.
Arnold closed his eyes and began to enjoy the ride.
With a slight tilt of her head, Victoria saw his long, thick eyelashes.
Arnold had a pair of insightful, deep, and mesmerizing eyes…
