Chapter 352: Eternal Palace
Chapter 352: Eternal Palace
"Boss Xu, we truly admire you from the bottom of our hearts. If you don’t mind, we’d like to follow you from now on," Fu Xing said excitedly.
The others’ eyes lit up, looking at Xu Ping’an with anticipation.
They had already seen Xu Ping’an’s abilities.
Smart, wise, cautious, and delicate; he was ruthless to his enemies and incredibly responsible towards his companions.
Such a person was undoubtedly a wise leader.
Rather than not wanting to fight as a team, loose cultivators feared not finding the right leader to guide them forward.
But Xu Ping’an’s appearance had given them a glimmer of hope.
Xu Ping’an’s strength left them in awe, so if he could lead them, their chances of survival within the Heavenly Star Palace would be much greater.
Xu Ping’an looked at the crowd’s eager faces and shook his head slightly, "I’m used to being alone. If I agree to your request, I have to take responsibility for you, and I don’t want to trouble myself."
With that, everyone laughed.
Xu Ping’an’s straightforwardness was tantamount to rejecting them.
But such a remark from Xu Ping’an didn’t make them angry.
Indeed, Xu Ping’an might enjoy more freedom alone; taking them along might just slow him down.
"Boss Xu, what if this lady wants you to take responsibility? You can’t just love ’em and leave ’em," quipped a glamorous Seventh Rank female loose cultivator with a seductive smile.
"Liu Yan, you might as well put away your charm. With the way you look, how could Boss Xu ever fancy you? It’s only I who would bother flattering you," Fu Xing retorted from the side.
"Pfft, I’m not interested in you," said the woman named Liu Yan with disdain.
Xu Ping’an shook his head helplessly.
He had to admit, interacting with these loose cultivators sometimes made him feel incredibly relaxed and at ease.
Although each of them was experienced and shrewd, they were far more sincere than the disciples of major forces.
Once they trusted someone, they would be willing to risk their lives.
"Actually, it’s not that you can’t follow me, but I have one condition," Xu Ping’an thought for a moment and said.
The listeners’ eyes brightened immediately.
"Boss Xu, don’t just say one condition—even a hundred conditions would be fine with us," Wu An hurriedly said.
The others nodded in agreement.
"Boss Xu, even if it means serving you in bed every day, I’m willing," Liu Yan continued.
Xu Ping’an couldn’t help but both laugh and cry.
"Actually, it’s not any serious condition. Although I’ll agree to lead you, I might often leave things in your hands, since I have many matters of my own to attend to," Xu Ping’an said.
"And here I thought it was going to be some big issue. No problem at all, Boss Xu. You go about your business. Even before, no one cared about us, but now everyone is better off huddling together because of you. And it’s not like you’re completely neglecting us," Fu Xing said grinningly.
The others also nodded their heads in agreement.
This was already a satisfactory outcome for them.
"However, Boss Xu, if you’re going to be a hands-off leader, we still need to select a deputy commander to lead us," Wu An thought aloud.
"Right, I think Fairy Gu would make a great choice. She’s smart, beautiful, and strong, and who knows, she might even become our sister-in-law in the future," Fu Xing laughed heartily.
Fairy Gu Lingyan’s face flushed instantly at this.
Xu Ping’an shook his head in resignation.
Gu Lingyan was beautiful indeed, but she wasn’t the one for him; he had no such intentions.
"I can’t do it. I’m not up to the task," Gu Lingyan demurred.
Xu Ping’an, however, said, "I think Wu An’s proposal is quite good. From now on, you’re the deputy commander, and Wu An will act as the strategist to assist you."
Everyone showed their satisfaction with this arrangement.
Nobody had any objections to Gu Lingyan.
As for Wu An, he had already played the role of a strategist in their group; now he would simply have a title to match.
"Since that’s settled, we might as well consider ourselves a power. Shouldn’t we come up with a name?" someone suggested.
"Yes, we definitely need a name, and it has to be impressive. How about the ’Thunderblast Gang’?" chimed in Fu Xing immediately.
"That’s too crude and doesn’t suit Boss Xu’s temperament at all. Boss Xu, you’re dressed in white, elegant and handsome, just like the descent of the Wenqu Star. How about we call ourselves the ’Wen Star Gang’?" Zhang Wenjun, a Seventh Layer Realm female cultivator, said with a smile.
"Wenqu Star Gang? Not imposing at all. You female cultivators just like these fancy-schmancy things," Fu Xing said with disdain.
Zhang Wenjun immediately glared at him, her face filled with anger.
Then the two of them started arguing.
Xu Ping’an instantly felt that his head was as big as a bull, as he wasn’t good at naming either.
"How about we call it the Eternal Palace?" Gu Lingyan suggested after giving it some thought.
"That’s good, the Eternal Palace, imposing," Fu Xing praised from within.
"Mm, the Eternal Palace, that’s a nice name," Zhang Wenjun also nodded.
The others also nodded in agreement.
"So be it, let’s call it the Eternal Palace then," Xu Ping’an agreed.
Though he felt the name was perhaps a bit too grand.
Eternal?
Even the Immortal Emperor couldn’t achieve eternity, and the Immortal Emperor probably couldn’t either.
What about gods?
Probably not feasible either.
So the name was frighteningly grand.
But he couldn’t be bothered to think of another name, so it might as well be grand.
"Hahaha, from now on we’ll be people with power too, the Eternal Palace, just the name sounds stronger than the big five powers," Fu Xing laughed heartily.
The others also wore faces of joy.
Gu Lingyan, however, looked at Xu Ping’an. She was initially about to suggest ’Eternal Divine Palace.’
But thinking that such a name could easily attract the enmity of some terrifying powers, she ultimately chose to remove the word ’divine.’
Perhaps in the future, this fellow in front of her would have the opportunity to add that word back.
"Thanks for your Xuantian Thunder Child this time. If it weren’t for you, we might not have achieved such results," Xu Ping’an said to Gu Lingyan.
"It’s just a trivial external object. Actually, I should be the one thanking you. Even without the Xuantian Thunder Child, you could have found a way into the Ancient Palace yourself, so we’re the ones who truly benefited," Gu Lingyan said.
Xu Ping’an had already infiltrated the Heaven Beyond Heavens powers, and getting in would have been quite easy for him.
Xu Ping’an just smiled and didn’t explain anything.
He hadn’t expected that he was originally just looking to secure a chance to enter the Ancient Palace, but ended up gaining a power as well.
"Dong Qiang, I’m going to kill you!"
Suddenly, an angry roar came from the ruins in the distance.
A figure burst out from among the ruins, with many parts of his body charred and his clothes torn to shreds.
His gaze swept around before finally fixing onto Xu Ping’an’s group.
Yu Xiuyan?
He indeed hadn’t died.
Xu Ping’an chuckled softly, but it seemed that although Yu Xiuyan had survived, he was also badly injured.
However, it appeared he hadn’t learnt his lesson, daring to shout and yell at a time like this.
"Oh, your highness is looking for me?" Xu Ping’an said with a smile, taking a step forward.
He soared into the air, standing opposite Yu Xiuyan.
"You’re Xu Ping’an?" Yu Xiuyan was taken aback and immediately asked.
"Yes, I’m Xu Ping’an, but Dong Qiang is also me," Xu Ping’an said with a smile.
After speaking, Xu Ping’an transformed back into Dong Qiang’s appearance.
Seeing this, Yu Xiuyan’s anger surged to the heavens.
Damn it, he had been fooled.
This Dong Qiang was actually a disguise by Xu Ping’an?
"You’re seeking death," Yu Xiuyan’s eyes instantly turned blood red, filled with an overwhelming killing intent.
