Chapter 193: Back To The Start
[Friday, 9th of April, 2021]
At a very popular record store, a dozen individuals had camped out the night before, just to be among the very first to lay their hands on a physical copy of Kyle's album.
Yes, the young man was now that popular, enough that in this day and age where digital media was king, a bunch of his fans… and scumbag scalpers, decided getting a physical copy was paramount.
Besides, in their opinions, physical copies sounded so much better than their digital counterparts.
And it was actually true, because streaming sites, often condensed the music for easy accessibility, lesser bandwidth and faster streaming/downloads for their users.
As a result, in most cases, although a lot of the general public probably never realized it, instead of listening to music as the artist usually intended, they instead, got a placeholder that did the job.
But physical copies… it was always the best way to listen to the songs as the artists intended.
Added to that were all the extra collectibles that came with physical copies such as the album art, packaging, photo-cards, posters, lyric booklets and the likes, all of which added a tangible value for collectors.
And for Ron whom was one of such collectors and also knew of all the technicalities that made a physical album so much better to listen to, getting a physical copy was a no-brainer move for him.
His girlfriend of two years however who didn't understand his need for a vinyl physical copy… now they'd had a small squabble the a few days before.
This was because, instead of staying the night over for a sleepover and the rest of the weekend to listen to the album together when it dropped at midnight as she had asked, Ron had stubbornly refused.
And from there, what should've been a small spat, ended up snowballing into a huge squabble with hurtful words thrown about and things they didn't mean, escaping their lips in the heat of the moment.
Ron especially, had been really hurt by some of the things his girl said, one that made him wonder if they were even right for each other.
Sure they both loved each other terribly and they were teenage sweethearts heading to the same college very soon but even then, her words had really stung his pride.
Still, he wasn't the least bit ready to start asking himself all those questions this morning as he shook his head and pushed his thoughts aside;
"Not now Ron."
Zipping open his tent, the young man was briefly blinded by the early morning sun as he stepped out onto the busy Vancouver street…
"Lovely…" he mumbled as his eyes finally adjusted to and settled on the early morning sun's cascading golden rays.
It reminded him of his girlfriend's golden blonde hair for a brief moment but once again, Ron killed the thought.
He really didn't want to be reminded of their squabble.
Also, he had bigger fish to fry at the moment––especially with the long ass line of varied colored tents behind him that stretched on for roughly almost fifty meters.
No sooner had he seen this, Ron swiveled his head forward to ensure that no one took his spot which was a few centimeters, right before the record store's door.
