Chapter 271
Chapter 271
ROOOOAAARR—!
A monstrous howl shook the entire arena.
The second match had begun.
"Die, Cherry Sinclair!"
"Enemy of humanity! Die!"
The same crowd that had just been cheering in exhilaration suddenly turned on me, screaming for my death.
I clicked my tongue in irritation and quickly counted the monsters charging across the arena.
Eight in total.
They came in all shapes and sizes—wolf-like creatures, insectoid monstrosities, and grotesque abominations.
It was almost impossible to believe that all of them had once been human.
As if turning the world into this nightmare with the virus wasn’t enough, they were sacrificing innocent people in these barbaric battles.
Did the people of Westmore really not care about the cruelty of this spectacle?
Instead of focusing on a cure, they were wasting time on these ridiculous experiments.
I spun my axe handle idly, running through my options. Where should I strike first to efficiently take down this horde?
The moment I decided on my strategy, I tightened my grip and stopped spinning the axe.
First, take out the lightweight ones to reduce their numbers.
Making my decision, I sprinted toward the right, where the smaller monsters had gathered.
If I had more stamina, I could fight all day. The real problem is how long I can last.
Killing these creatures wasn’t difficult. The real issue was that they attacked in swarms, their infectious bites slowly chipping away at my endurance.
On the right side of the arena, I grabbed the tail of an anaconda-like monster and lifted it high into the air.
Then, with a spin, I hurled it—sending three smaller creatures flying as they slammed into its massive body.
Without stopping, I took aim at the wolf-like beast charging at me, using the airborne anaconda as a projectile.
The wolf crashed into the arena wall along with the anaconda, their bodies crumpling on impact.
Next up—a tarantula-like monster.
