Chapter 291
Chapter 291
Outside Mahithilde Arena
KWAANG---!
Kellyan, who had been securing the area outside the arena with Jose’s team, instinctively hunched his shoulders in shock.
“Damn it, what was that?”
“It looks like that turtle from earlier, the one that broke Westmore’s defensive walls.”
Amy, who had just replied to Kellyan, suddenly let out a scream.
“Ahh! XX! Wait a second! It just smashed the arena! I spent all that effort evacuating survivors in there! Ugh! That damn turtle!”
While Amy clutched her head in frustration, Harrison, who had been staring at the turtle, muttered in shock.
“...No way. My lady?”
Harrison’s voice trembled, and everyone turned, as if bewitched, toward the massive turtle rising above the arena.
A small woman was clinging to its head. Her pink hair whipped wildly in the wind—it was Cherry.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Cherry was perched atop the turtle’s head, rifle in hand, firing rounds into the arena below.
What the hell was even happening?
Everyone froze, momentarily forgetting what they were doing as they stared up at the sky.
Even the monsters, which had been prowling outside the arena, were just as stunned. Grotesque faces turned in unison toward the turtle.
The scene was a spectacle in itself, a bizarre moment where all eyes—human and monster alike—were fixed on the same place.
Amy, still gaping, turned to Harrison and asked absentmindedly,
“Lawyer… what exactly did Sugar Star do before the world ended? Was she some kind of secret royal agent or something?”
“Secret agent? Lady Sinclair attracted far too much attention to ever live as something so covert. She was a superstar.”
Kellyan muttered in disbelief as well, but Harrison’s face had grown deadly serious, as if he was ready to charge straight toward Cherry at any moment.
Amy, still staring up at Cherry on top of the turtle, responded absentmindedly.
“So, Sugar Star was just born to be in the spotlight. Whether before the apocalypse or after.”
“...Who are we to understand the life of a savior in times of chaos?”
“Ugh, ‘savior in times of chaos’? Knight guy, that metaphor is terrible.”
Harrison, having listened to their conversation in silence, finally spoke.
“That turtle being used in the arena was not part of our plan. The situation is turning strange—we need to get inside.”
Everyone nodded in agreement, grabbing their weapons and moving out.
