?Chapter 330: Chapter 220 Chapter 330: Chapter 220 “That’s right, finally managed to shake off the shit-stained pot that was stuck on my head; how could I be in a bad mood?”

“Really? Then…” Zhou Junye hesitated for a few seconds before finally asking, “What about those two paternity test reports? I know one of them matched. What do you plan to do next, do you have any leads? You’ve hardly been back home; do you want me to give you a few more days off? But I have to tell you in advance, I can give you a maximum of one week’s leave, I can’t afford any more than that.”

Wenyan paused: “Actually, on the way back from the identification agency, I had been thinking about this issue. I guess I do have a bit of a clue. I was even hesitating whether to call you to ask for leave, but I didn’t expect my dear leader to be so understanding and proactively offer to give me time off. However, if things go well, it probably won’t take as long as a whole week. I’ll do my best to wrap it up quickly!”

“Alright!” Zhou Junye was a decisive man, “Then see you in a week, and no matter what, you have to come back to the crew after that. Of course, I hope all goes well for you.”

“Okay, then it’s settled.”

After ending the call, Wenyan quickly put the two reports and hair samples she had brought back from the identification agency into her bag.

She then called her bodyguard to bring the car around to the building’s entrance.

About two hours later.

The car carrying Wenyan finally entered an abandoned industrial park.

This was her second visit to this place.

The first time, she had been abducted here by someone hired by Fu Anxian.

It was here that she was rescued by Wen Chengcai and his disfigured friend, Brother San.

After entering the park, Wenyan did not have her bodyguard drive straight to the metal hut where Wen Chengcai and Brother San lived.

Instead, she chose to get out and walk.

She also specifically instructed her bodyguard to move quietly and not make too much noise.

Following her memory, the white metal hut soon came into view.

She instructed the bodyguard to wait at a distance and tiptoed to the hut’s entrance herself.

The door of the hut was not closed.

Before she got close, Wenyan heard noises of rummaging from inside.

Then, what caught her sight was the silhouette of a figure wearing a cap.

That silhouette, was clearly not Wen Chengcai.

Wen Chengcai was not that tall.

So, it could only be Brother San.

He seemed to be searching for something urgently, so engrossed that he didn’t even notice when Wenyan stood at the door watching him for a long time.

Wenyan didn’t want to waste too much time; she knocked on the metal door, making quite a loud noise.

Brother San stopped his frantic search upon hearing the sound.

However, he didn’t immediately turn around, but quickly took a large mask out of his pocket, put it on, and then turned his head to look at Wenyan.

The moment he saw Wenyan, there was a brief daze in his expression, but it was mostly surprise.

He quickly diverted his gaze from Wenyan’s face and asked, “Why are you here? It’s a mess over here, do you need something?”

His skin was burnt, and even if he showed his face, no expressions could be discerned, but from his eyes, Wenyan saw an unmistakable irritation.

She frowned and asked Brother San, “What are you looking for?”

“It’s none of your business.” Brother San clearly didn’t want to answer that question.

But Wenyan felt like she knew the answer.

“Wen Chengcai is gone, aren’t you looking for something he stole from you?”

Brother San turned to look at Wenyan sharply, his hoarse and ragged voice asked, “How do you know that?”

Wenyan frowned, “You must not go online often, do you?”

“I don’t have a smartphone. Have you seen Chengcai? Did he come to you?”

“Yes, he not only came to me, but he also got me into a lot of trouble.”

“He caused you trouble? Did he go to you for money? But he told me he went back to his hometown, seems like he lied to me.”

“Isn’t that right?” Wenyan said as she opened her phone gallery, “I’m here to ask you, are you looking for this?”

But just as Wenyan was about to hand her phone to Brother San, a sound of a car making an emergency stop suddenly came from outside.

“Someone’s come,” said Brother San, heading towards the door.

Wenyan turned her head back at the noise.

Before she could react, she was suddenly enveloped in a tight embrace.

The force was so great, her nose was almost broken.

“Wenyan, you son of a bitch!!! Why didn’t you answer your phone, what use do you have for a phone anyway!!! Just throw it away.”

“…” The hysterical roar was so loud that Wenyan’s eardrums nearly surrendered heroically.
