Chapter 253: 253. Danag's Decision

Erick looked around as his eyes widened, "Wait, is this also something I don't know about?" He asked in horror.

"Ah, I guess I should give the announcement here first. There has been a change. Damon is the new Head guard." Jael announced casually as he dropped his cutlery onto the plates. It made a soft clink sound.

"What?" Erick yelled standing to his feet. He banged his hands on the table loudly. "Just what is going on?" He asked loudly.

Jael glared at him as he brought the napkin to the corner of his lips. Without Jael saying a word, Erick's demeanor changed and he immediately sat back down.

He cleared his throat, "I didn't mean to react in that manner but why are you relieving Danag of his duties and giving it to him of all people." Erick pointed at Damon with disgust.

Damon didn't so much as blink, he continued eating his meal neither responding nor acknowledging Erick's words. 

"Are you questioning my decision?" Jael asked with a raised brow.

"No, but I do believe an explanation is in place. Danag has been Head Guard for a decade, you can't just take him off his duties without explaining why, sire." Erick said stubbornly and even though he was speaking to Jael his glare never wavered from Damon who continued to eat his meal without a word.
