"I know you wouldn't joke about something like that. That's why I am hoping I misheard. What do you mean threatening?" Jael asked as he pushed open the study.
It was dark except for the candlelight that lay on the desk. There were papers scattered over the desk and from the looks of things the desk was currently in use.
"He didn't say anything specific but he hinted about not keeping his end of his bargain if you won't come to their aid."
Jael snickered, "He is bluffing. Does he actually think he has the upper hand? Ugh, this is a waste of my time. Toss out any other letters you might."
Jael stopped in the middle of the study and turned toward the door. "Making demands," he chuckled. "Just what does he take me for? This better be some kind of joke."
"This is because you show leniency towards them. They think we have weakened. A mere human king makes demands from the Primus, along with threats, this shouldn't be easily forgiven, Sire. Acts like this would only continue if you don't nip it in the bud!"
Jael slowly turned around to see Erick standing beside the desk, the vampire was fuming. Jael had almost forgotten that humans weren't Erick's favorite people.
Well, they weren't his either but what he felt was indifference while Erick's was closer to dislike.
Jael sighed, "Such shouldn't get you all worked up, the human King should know better than to play his hand too strong. He wouldn't be stupid enough to endanger his people."
