Chapter 300: 300. Without Jael

Mauve woke up feeling lightheaded. She tried to sit up but the room spun and she was forced to remain in a lying position.

She smacked her lips, her mouth tasted a little bitter. She frowned slightly and after giving it some time she tried to sit up again.

This time around the world didn't feel like it was going to tumble. She sat up and leaned her back against the headboard.

She brought her hands to her lips and yawned, wondering just how long she had been out. The curtains were tied to the sides and she could clearly see the moon. She must have been asleep for at least three hours.

Certain that she wouldn't fall face first, she gradually got out of bed. She jumped to the ground, a little wobbled at first but her feet held.

She stood on her feet and looked around for a couple of seconds, She was still in Jael's room and she knew he already left.

She didn't even get to tell him a proper goodbye but with what transpired this morning, there was no way it could have been a good-bye.

She made her way to the connecting door, wobbling as she approached. Two feet away from the door, it opened in her face.

"Mauve, please remain in bed," Mill cried as she laid eyes on Mauve. She rushed toward her and placed her hand on Mauve's shoulders.

"What?" Mauve asked and lightly brushed her hand away. "I'm fine."
