Mauve got out of bed, another day, another trial. At this point, she was praying the days would speed up. It wasn't like she had plans anyway.

Unfortunately, today wasn't like any other day. Malcolm decided to take it upon himself to go riding with her today—something about working up after breakfast.

She wasn't pleased about the idea. She was okay with her regular routine of going riding with Galath, spending most of the day in her room sleeping, and then roaming around the castle at night.

She winced. You would think she would have adjusted to sleeping during the night by now, but she still had to take naps during the day if she wanted to function correctly.

She didn't hate it. It gave her few opportunities to run into the Queen and other people. However, she was enclosed again. Her life hasn't changed much.

"Thank you," Mauve whispered absentmindedly as Maria did the finishing touches to her dress.

Mauve stood to her feet and made her way to the dining room. Mealtime was always the worst time of the day. She still felt like she was simply playing a role unsuitable for her.

She entered the dining hall to see the Royal family was already seated. It was easy to call them that and not feel anything. The arena went silent for a few seconds as she walked in before conversations picked up again.

It was no surprise she was late. Maria had to drag her out of bed to get her to wake up. She suppressed a yawn as she walked to her seat, which was right beside Malcolm.

She gave a soft curtsey to the King and Queen before going to her seat. Malcolm stood up immediately and pulled back her chair for her. She smiled softly at him as she said her thanks.
