Jael held onto her until she threw up everything she had eaten in the last thirty minutes. She hacked until her stomach was empty and there was practically nothing to throw up anymore.

Mauve hated the burning sensation that went up her throat as a result. The taste of bile and vomit in her mouth was enough to make her want to throw up again.

"You're done?" Jael asked, his voice soft and filled with nothing but worry.

Mauve nodded and Jael pulled her backward. He arranged her so she could rest her back against the headboard.

"I am sorry," she whispered. "I ruined your carpet."

"Don't worry about it," Jael said, taking his shirt off. "I can get that cleaned up."

"But it will a stain and a smell," her lips turned downwards, and her eyes looked like it was hard for her to focus.
