Chapter 270: Speical Treatment

Chapter 270: Speical Treatment

After making the deal with Volkov, Noah steered the Lykan toward the city center. The Russian scientist remained silent, still processing the revelations of the last half hour.

The Crown Veridian Hotel rose before them, sixty stories of gleaming glass and modern architecture dominating the skyline. Noah pulled up to the entrance, where a valet immediately stepped forward.

"Mr. Noah!" The young man beamed, hands clasped behind his back. "Welcome back, sir!"

Volkov glanced at Noah. Not surprising that someone with his wealth would be a regular at the city's finest hotel.

Noah handed the keys to the valet. "Take good care of her, James."

"Always do, sir!"

Noah gestured for Volkov to follow him through the grand entrance. The lobby stretched out before them – all marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and tasteful modern art.

Heads turned as they passed. Noah moved with the easy confidence of someone completely at home.

Noah had become a famous person in Birmingham. Almost everyone knew him, whether from national television during the results day or his regular visits.

The reception desk came alive as they approached. A professionally dressed woman stood immediately, her smile brightening.

"Mr. Noah," she said, voice warm with recognition. "We weren't expecting you today."

Noah gestured to Volkov. "Mr. Volkov here is a special guest at our hotel. I want him to be given the best facilities and treatment possible. Understood?"

"Yes. Of course," she replied without hesitation. "I'll prepare all arrangements immediately."

Noah turned to Volkov, extending his hand. "I'll leave you in Helena's capable hands. I will contact you tomorrow regarding what we discussed."

Volkov shook his hand, still looking slightly dazed. "Thank you for the... hospitality."

With a nod, Noah turned and walked away, phone already at his ear.

Volkov watched him go, mind racing. "Our hotel?" he murmured. "Is that his hotel? Surely... not."

"Mr. Volkov?" Helena's voice pulled him back to reality. "If you'll follow me, I'll escort you to your suite personally."

Still stunned, Volkov followed her to a private elevator requiring a keycard.

"You'll be staying in the Pinnacle Suite," she explained as the doors closed. "It occupies the entire top floor."

"The... entire floor?"

Helena smiled. "Yes, sir. Four bedrooms, private pool, 360-degree views of the city. It rents for $25,000 per night."

The elevator ascended swiftly. Volkov's mind spun faster than the floor numbers changing.

"Mr. Noah... he owns this hotel?" Volkov finally asked.

Helena looked surprised by the question. "The Crown Veridian? Yes."

The elevator doors opened directly into the suite. Volkov stepped out and froze.

The space was magnificent – soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, furnishings that balanced luxury with tasteful restraint. Beyond the windows lay the city, spreading out like a living map.

"Your family's belongings are being moved here as we speak," Helena continued, leading him through the massive living area.

"My family?" Volkov's head snapped toward her.

"Yes,"

"The dining room seats twelve," Helena continued, gesturing to an elegant space dominated by a massive table. "The kitchen is fully stocked and a personal chef is available at the touch of this button. The master bedroom is through here..."

Volkov followed in a daze as she showed him the palatial master suite, the three additional bedrooms, the marble-clad bathrooms, the private gym, the outdoor pool and lounge.

"...and of course, the emergency room," Helena was saying, pressing her hand to a seemingly ordinary wall panel. It slid open, revealing a steel door. "Fully stocked, independent air supply, communications array. Mr. Noah added this feature to all our Pinnacle Suites a few weeks back."

Emergency room. Of course. The young man had thought of everything.

"Is there anything else you need, Mr. Volkov?"

"No," he managed. "This is... more than sufficient."

She handed him a black keycard. "This gives you access to the floor and everything within it."

Alone in the vast suite, Volkov walked to the windows, staring out at the city below. His phone buzzed – a text from his wife saying she and their daughter are being picked up.

'Should we go with them?'

Volkov responded.

'Yes. I'm waiting for you.'

Another buzz – an email notification. The superconductivity solution Noah had shown him earlier, now expanded into a complete implementation plan. Exactly what his team had been struggling with for years.

Delivered as promised. Immediately.

Volkov poured himself a drink from the bar and sank into a leather chair.

In one afternoon, everything had changed. One moment he'd been a visiting lecturer, worried about FSB agents and his secret work. The next, he was being protected by an impossibly young Major, staying in a suite that cost more per night than most people earned in a year, owned by that same teenager.

Who was Noah Thompson, really?

And what kind of game was he playing?

...

Whilst Volkov was worrying about the future, Noah was having a relaxing drive on his way to his parents' apartment.

Arriving there, Noah parked his car and grabbed the colorful gift bag from the back seat—five games for the IplayTrain 5 his parents had bought Emily yesterday. She'd been blowing up his phone ever since.

Knock-knock.

A few seconds passed before the door swung open, revealing Caroline Thompson's warm smile. "Welcome home,"

"Thanks," He smiled.

He stepped inside, accepting her quick hug.

"NOAH!" A eight-year-old hurricane slammed into his legs. Emily looked up at him with massive brown eyes. "Did you bring it? Did you?"

"Bring what? I just came to visit my princess." He kept his face serious.

"The games! You promised!"

Noah pretended to think hard. "Games? Don't remember anything about—"

"Noooaaaah!"

He laughed, dropping the gift bag into her eager hands. "Fine, i might have gotten you a few games."

Emily tore into the package like a predator, squealing when she saw the titles. "Racing Legends 7! And Monster Hunter! And—"

"Go set it up," Caroline said with a laugh. "Give your brother a minute to breathe."

Emily vanished down the hall, leaving Noah with his mother.

"Want some tea?"

"I would love some," He smiled.
