Vivian rejoining the battle made the outcome all but certain.

Unlike her usual careful and conservative use of magic, Vivian now seemed like a newly rich person with the freedom to spend lavishly, continuously casting high-energy control spells, no longer limited by mana consumption.

In the flickering light of various elemental magics, droves of young fire elementals were either continuously repelled, suspended in the air, or immobilized on the ground, unable to take a single step.

This significant decrease in pressure made it easy for Catherine and Lina to block the remaining young elementals from the channel.

As time passed, more and more young fire elementals regained their divine wisdom, excitedly pouncing towards Catherine and Lina, only to be swatted back into the Lava Lake with Catherine copying Pannis’ attitude.

Seeing the number of rampaging youths decrease and more and more children return to frolic with each other in the Lava Lake like before, Dylan finally let out a sigh of relief.

He walked over to Pannis, who was completely off-duty with his arms crossed watching from behind, and slapped his shoulder in praise, “Who would’ve thought, you’re actually quite reliable.”

“Not me, it’s them who are reliable.” Pannis threw his chin towards Catherine still in the after-swing of battle, “I just watched from the back.”

“But you’re all together,” Dylan laughed heartily, “There’s no difference.”

Pannis rolled his eyes, observing the few remaining young elementals outside the cave entrance, he said to Dylan, “You really should teach these kids a lesson.

If no adventurers were passing by, they might have seriously hurt you.”

“It’s not the kids’ fault,” Dylan defended, “They’re usually very well-behaved, it’s because they were under the influence of magic.”

“Behaved?” Pannis snorted, “Forget it, explain in detail, what happened?”

“Let’s talk about it inside, let me take care of the kids first.” Seeing that the fight had ended, Dylan returned to the Lava Lake cave, turned to the group, and asked, “Would you like to come in and sit for a while?”

Catherine laughed at the sight of the roiling Lava Lake and awkwardly said, “No need, we’ll fine waiting outside.”

“Fair enough, wait for me, I’ll be right back.” Dylan didn’t insist, he led the thirteen injured adult members of his tribe, turned into streaks of flame and returned to the Lava Lake.

“You know each other?” Seeing Dylan leave, Catherine took her chance to satisfy her curiosity, “He seems to know you quite well, doesn’t he?”

“We’ve met quite a few times,” Pannis replied while inspecting the surrounding rock wall, “I’d consider us friends.

That’s how Fire Elementals are, impulsive and straightforward, they don’t understand human hypocrisy.

If they consider you a friend, they won’t hold back, they see asking for help and giving it as a matter of fact.”

“Pannis.” Suddenly, Vivian blocked Pannis’ path and deeply bowed, “Thank you very much for your help.”

“I was just talking casually, really.” Pannis looked up at the sky with indifference again, “I didn’t intend to help you.”

“Whether you meant it or not, your hint gave me hope.

I’ve been stuck at Middle Gold Rank for a while now.

After listening to your hint, it feels like I’ve discovered the door to Upper Gold Rank or even Legendary.” Vivian’s innocent face was full of seriousness, “So I…”

Before she could finish, she suddenly fell down, as if all her strength had been drained.

“What happened?” Seeing Vivian collapsed, Catherine and Lina rushed forward a few steps.

Catherine cradled her, feeling her completely powerless body.

Only her eyes were still blinking, she couldn’t even speak, leading Catherine to anxiously ask, “Pannis, is that method you taught Vivian have any side effects?”

“It shouldn’t.” Pannis furrowed his brows in thought, “In theory, she’d only lose precise control over her mana for an hour or two due to the violent impact of the magic energy on her mana channels and mana core.

It’s like when a human overexerts themselves they would start trembling and lose the ability to do delicate tasks like writing.”

“Oh, then there’s no problem.” Hearing Pannis’s explanation, Catherine instantly relaxed, “I understand now, Vivian is quite unique.

This is a special situation, it’s ok, it seems she’ll be fine after resting for a while.”

“What happened?

Did something happen?” A flash of fire appeared, and Dylan was back before the group, “What happened to this little girl?”

“It’s nothing,” Catherine smiled, “She just passed out due to exhaustion.

She’ll be fine after some rest.”

“That’s good.

You humans do faint quite easily, huh.” Dylan glanced at Rachel, who had just woken up from fainting, reached into her body and pulled out six or seven fire-attribute crystals, “You’re the gunner, right?

You must have used up almost all the energy in your crystal gun just now, use these as replacements.”

Even though Vivian had promised to help Rachel cut crystals for her crystal gun’s energy supply beforehand, Rachel was worried about not having any crystals for Vivian to cut due to losing her backpack.

She felt awkward borrowing from the girls in the adventure team.

Now, hearing that Dylan was going to give her some crystals as a reward, she was pleasantly surprised, “Thank you so much, I was just worrying about not having energy for the rest of the journey.”
