?35: Chapter 25 Life and Death in Two Minutes_2 35: Chapter 25 Life and Death in Two Minutes_2 “Curses, Slow.”

“Illusion Magic, Silence.”

Two chants rang out one after the other.

The first was completely unfamiliar, while the second was the familiar tender voice of Vivian.

A hunched figure appeared at the entrance of the cave the group was trying to enter.

He attempted to cast a slow spell on the five people two hundred meters away, but Vivian was prepared.

Seeing someone attack with magic, she instinctively cast a silence spell.

Though it was initiated later, it arrived sooner, shattering the attacker’s intention to use underhanded means.

“It’s him.” Looking at the attacker, Rachel let out a shrieking scream: “It was this devil who attacked us.”

“Don’t stop, get through.” Pannis did not pause at all.

“It is certain death if we stop here.

We’ll consider the rest once we get through.”

“Do you think it’s that easy?

Hehehe,” the hunched figure scoffed with a strange accent.

“Die here.

Element, Freeze.”

“Defense, Spell Deflection.” Vivian, who was being moved at high speed, seemed to completely defy the common knowledge that it’s hard for a mage to concentrate on casting spells while moving.

The casually cast spell demonstrated her terrifying control over magic and her ability to maintain a focused mind, easily dispelling two troublesome spells.

One minute.

Seeing that the five people had rushed to within less than fifty meters, and ripples indicating attacks had started to appear on their aggression shields, a cruel smile invisible to others came over the face behind the hunched figure’s mask.

“You’re so strong, why don’t you try this?

Element, Earth Wall.”

Vivian was powerless as her silence spell was still on cooldown.

An Earth Wall rising from the ground firmly blocked the cave entrance, leaving no gaps.

“Beast.” As they were rapidly approaching the entrance, Pannis cursed loudly, accelerating under his feet and quickly covering the distance of a few dozen meters.

He raised his fist and punched the wall.

“Martial Skill, Shattering Dragon Roar.”

Though the martial skill belonging to a berserker did not shatter the earth wall, it did make the wall crumble.

Pannis was preparing to punch it a few more times, when he heard Catherine yelled from behind “Get out of the way.”

Without any hesitation, Pannis leapt to the side, just in time to hear a gust of wind behind him as a person-high Falcon Shield rolled in the air.

It crashed directly into the crumbling earth wall, causing the wall to collapse with a loud crash.

One minute and fifteen seconds.

Artfully avoiding the flying shield, Pannis wanted to take the opportunity to rush into the passage.

But after the shield broke the earth wall, it bounced back as if it had hit something.

Pannis helplessly sidestepped the returned shield and saw the culprit behind it all.

A nearly invisible magic field blocked the entrance of the cave.

Behind the magic field, the hunched figure looked at the five people with malicious amusement, silently observing the ripples on their protective shields becoming increasingly intense.

“Tactical Skill, Charge of Fearlessness.” Catherine held up her Magicsteel Shield which she just got from the Fire Element, and charged towards the magic field.

The Gold Rank Aggression spread over the surface of the shield, imbued with an irresistible force, it collided with the magic field.

Accompanied by the sound of the magic field shattering, Catherine was shaken back two steps.

She disregarded her numb left arm, lifted her one-handed sword with her right hand and prepared to rush into the cave.

A similar swordsman’s light appeared inside the cave.

The hunched figure also pulled out a one-handed sword from somewhere, driving back the unprepared female knight with swordsmanship not inferior to Catherine’s.

“Be careful, Catherine, this is a Magic Swordsman, not a Mage.” Pannis reminded loudly.

One minute and thirty seconds.

The swords clanged in rapid succession.

Catherine, desperate to break through, was obstructed by an oddly predictable creature, intent on wasting her time.

Meanwhile, the narrow cave mouth prevented the young girls outside from assisting Catherine.

For the five individuals exposed to the sonic attack, the situation was mortally perilous.

“We’re running out of time,” Pannis, noticing the diminishing Aggression Shields glowing around everyone, chose not to help Catherine in vain, but instead approached Vivian, “Don’t be afraid.

You trust me, right?”

“Of course.”” Vivian nodded: “I can see into your heart, I trust you.”

Ignoring what Vivian meant, Pannis lifted her with a grunt, surprised at her feather-like weight, and threw her towards the opening across.

Vivian comprehended Pannis’ intention as she was soaring mid-air, she tried her best to adjust her posture.

Although her landing was rather unsteady, it was thankfully not too harsh.

After tossing Vivian aside, Pannis took no time to pause, picking up Rachel, who had previously fractured her leg and could not exert too much force.

Lina deciphered the situation and swiftly dashed out.

Elegantly hopping over the scattered crystals, she landed securely outside the cave mouth on the right.

She skillfully caught Rachel in mid-air, following the sound of the breeze from above.

Seeing the three girls escape danger, the hunched creature roared furiously.

A giant fireball whizzed past Catherine, hurtling towards the cave mouth where the girls were standing.

Barely managing to turn around, Pannis picked up the shield Catherine had discarded earlier.

He swung it at the lower rim of the monstrous fireball, but his efforts proved to be in vain as he narrowly missed and failed to block the onslaught aimed at Lina and Rachel, who had just hit the ground.

One minute and forty-five seconds.

“Inside the cave.

Now!” Lina, dragging along Rachel and Vivian, dived into the cave.

Just as they entered, the colossal fireball, slightly delayed by Pannis, exploded violently above the cave mouth instead of crashing inside.

Following the explosion, a shower of rocks and debris rolled down, sealing the cave entrance.

Before the cave was completely shut off, the girls heard Pannis yell: “If we get separated, stay put and camp.

We’ll come to find you.

Do not wander!”

“Catherine, there’s no time, stop charging and prepare to retreat.” Seeing the imminent stalemate between Catherine and the hunched creature, Pannis knew it would be impossible for Catherine to disengage from combat anytime soon.

He subtly adjusted his position, nonchalantly choosing a spot to stand just behind Catherine.

“Huh?” This seemingly arbitrary change of position, however, greatly disrupted the hunched creature.

Instinctively, it backed away a couple of steps, simultaneously shifting its orientation.

“Let’s go.” As if expecting the creature’s reaction, Pannis was already prepared.

He grabbed Catherine’s left hand and headed towards the nearest cave mouth, situated at the very tip of the spindle-shaped tunnel.

“Charge of Fearlessness.” Catherine, ready to counter once she realized the plan, initiated the combat skill towards the cave mouth, charging with immense velocity towards the entrance that was several meters away.

Their Aggression Shields gradually dimmed while they charged.

They flickered weakly, hinting at an impending collapse.

“Go in!” Catherine applied all her strength with her left hand, intending to push Pannis into the cave.

The anticipated outcome would entail the reduction of her own speed due to the resultant counterforce, possibly causing her demise under the sonic attack.

However, Catherine didn’t weigh her options, no thoughts, no hesitation, just instinct as she used all her strength to propel Pannis forward.

Unexpectedly, Pannis skilfully used her force to pivot himself and instead, pushed Catherine towards the cave.

She arrived at the safe zone just as her Aggression Shield completely shut down.

Despite being outside, Pannis’s Aggression Shield also promptly collapsed.

Almost instantaneously, every vein in his body ruptured under the sonic bombardment, causing a gory outburst from every part of his body.

He resembled a bloodied figure, using the last of his momentum to clear the final stretch, crashing next to Catherine.

Two minutes.
