"Master, someone is coming, and it might be the pumpkin head Evil Spirit you mentioned," Tian Qi suddenly spoke.

Qin Muye, who was inspecting the cross, didn't even lift his head. It seemed as if the cross contained an unknown thing sealed inside. The church's cellar, attic, rooms, corridor murals, and even under his feet lay a Demon Cave-all sealed with these things.

So, a mere pumpkin head Evil Spirit was hardly a big deal.

"Oh, I'll leave it to you guys," Qin Muye said casually.

If even Tian Qi and the Evangelical Spirit Monster couldn't defeat it, neither could Qin Muye.

"Father Andrew, help me..." Andy scrambled into the church, only to find the situation inside even more bizarre.

The one he saw as a savior, Father Andrew, was squatting on the cross, examining something, and below him sat a group of followers in Crimson Robes. The scene looked like a cult gathering.

Then, a tall humanoid creature with a pumpkin head and long, slim claws entered after him, chasing to kill Andy with little regard for the Spirit Monsters around.

The sheer number and variety of the tentacles, thick and thin, caused Andy's scalp to tingle, and he couldn't help but scream.

"Quiet," Tian Qi said coldly, then slowly walked over to the pumpkin head Evil Spirit pierced by numerous tentacles, holding the Evangelist.

Tian Qi stared into the pumpkin head Evil Spirit's faintly glowing eyes, "It doesn't matter who you are. To dare offend my master, I will adorn your head on his throne."

This made Andy shudder, tears nearly bursting out. What kind of people were these, wanting to decorate the throne with a head? Would his own head be used for decoration next?

The pumpkin head Evil Spirit's eyes twinkled, and it reached out its thin, bony claws to pierce Tian Qi.

But the flesh had been eaten away by the tentacles, leaving almost no power in the skeletal arm.

Tian Qi grabbed the pumpkin head Evil Spirit's pumpkin head with one hand, decisively ripping it off, spine attached.

Holding the pumpkin head, Tian Qi walked back, passing Andy and giving him a look that made his skin crawl and scared the urine out of him.

"Master, it's done," Tian Qi said, as if presenting a sacrifice, holding the pumpkin head out.

The pumpkin head Evil Spirit was not dead, evident from the flickering light inside the head and the occasionally trembling spine, but it was indeed no longer a threat-a fact confirmed by Tian Qi.

"Hang it next to the scapling knife; let's treat it as a trophy," Qin Muye glanced at it, deducing that this creature was summoned, not the real deal.

Hang it for now, see if it could lure the real deal. And he was planning to use the church as a display case, hanging up all the messy creatures regardless if they died or survived the fight. He had considered making a pumpkin dinner out of the head, but since it was summoned, cooking it might just bring it back the next day. Better to hang it as a showpiece, especially with the Super-Space Transmission Channel-he owned the place now.

"Yes, Master." Tian Qi handed the pumpkin head to an Evangelical Spirit Monster and then stood quietly beside Qin Muye, where else should a bodyguard stand.

Qin Muye jumped down from the cross. His pupils, formed of Crimson crystals, glittered red under the church light, intensifying Andy's fear.

"Only you returned; it seems Brant and Winnie are dead. Now you wouldn't mind talking about the pumpkin head, would you?" Qin Muye pointed to the dangling spine of the pumpkin head on the wall.

The implication was clear-if he didn't talk, his spine might be the next to twist like the Evil Spirit's.

"I'll talk, I'll talk..." Andy's voice trembled with fear, knowing all too well that if those under his opponent's command could deal with the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit like this, his own fate would be even worse.

As Andy narrated the events, Qin Muye also came to understand the causes and consequences.

Indeed, the trio were high school students, but not from Akman Town; they were from another city. Not long ago, while on a road trip, they accidentally ran over a farmer's son, killing him. Subsequently, the farmer's grief-stricken wife, driven mad with sorrow, attacked them.

In the end, Brant, in a moment of panic, pushed her away, and she fell, impaled through the temple by a steel rebar and died.

Upon leaving, they even took all of the couple's savings. When the returning farmer found his world had collapsed, he sought out a witch secluded in the mountains. In exchange for his life, the witch summoned a vengeful monster, namely the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit.

Before they encountered Qin Muye, they had already been hunted several times but managed to escape each time, which is why they were so panicked.

Unfortunately, due to a day and night of constant running combined with the psychological stress, they were exhausted in both body and mind and naturally stood no chance against the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit. Hence, only Andy was left, as the other two had perished.

"Aren't you leaving something out? As a group being hunted by the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit, how did you come to know these details while fleeing for your lives?" Qin Muye calmly pointed out the flaw in Andy's story as he sat in his chair.

For instance, since they fled, how did they know about the farmer and the witch?

It's not as if they read a script, and even if they had, they wouldn't have all died except for him.

"A Romani girl told us, she knows a bit of mysterious witchcraft and predicted our deaths," Andy hurriedly explained.

Qin Muye glanced at him, thinking this man might truly be simple-minded; the so-called Romani girl was probably the same witch who summoned the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit, as per

his story.

"Can you find the witch behind the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit?" Qin Muye looked at Tian Qi and asked.

He wasn't adept at these matters and could only see if Tian Qi was capable of handling it. "No way to find her. Even though the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit was summoned by her, there's no master-servant relationship. It's more like a ritual of vengeance. Moreover, the witch can't control the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit and can only see a few things through its eyes," Tian Qi had explored this and found that the two were independent; there was no subordinate connection, so it was impossible to find her.

As for Andy? Forget about it. He only knew a story, and Qin Muye suspected that the cursed Romani witch deliberately revealed it to maximize the trio's fear, as they were likely meant to be sacrificial offerings.

"Well, if we can't find her, so be it. We've got the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit, and whatever the other party is plotting, they will have to come to us next," Qin Muye reasoned.

Looking for them on their own would be fruitless; it was better to wait for the other party to come to them while they had the Pumpkinhead.

"Dispose of the Pumpkinhead Evil Spirit's body. As for you..." Qin Muye finished instructing Tian Qi and turned his gaze to Andy, contemplating how to deal with him.

"Wait, Father Andrew, I want to join your cult, please don't kill me, I'm useful, I can..."Andy quickly pleaded.

At this moment, begging for mercy was certainly useless. Since he knew their secret, the only way to survive was to join them.

"What nonsense are you talking about? I am a law-abiding priest; I do not engage in murder," Qin Muye said in a gentle tone.

Right, the act of murder is generally performed by subordinates. Even in a desperate situation, it was carried out by released Crimson Elements, not by a scholar as feeble as

himself.

Upon hearing this, Andy was completely dumbfounded. He couldn't believe it.

Then, to Andy's astonishment, Qin Muye made a call on his phone: "Hello, Akman Town law enforcement? I have apprehended a hit-and-run murderer here at the church. Yes, I am the new priest, Father Andrew. Alright, thank you. Please come quickly."

"You... you... you actually called the police!" Andy was dumbstruck, never expecting Qin Muye

to pull such a bold move.

"Yes, is there a problem?" Qin Muye asked in return. At this point, calling the police was

definitely the right move. It wasn't like he could resolve the issue in private; it wouldn't benefit him at all. On the contrary, there were bigger advantages to calling the police.
