Chapter 142: Chapter 144: Hell Church’s ‘Little Gift

In the abandoned warehouse, the Spirit of Fire and Air from Hell, known as the Lamp God, was staring at the man who had collapsed on the ground, seemingly forcing him to make his final wish.

At that moment, hundreds of wriggling shadows came from not far away, transforming into grotesque figures cloaked in crimson robes.

The Hell Church might be somewhat useless, Tian Qi said calmly as he watched the Lamp God from a distance, apparently not surprised at all.

The Lamp God’s gaze fell upon Tian Qi, finding him unfamiliar, “Whose minion from Hell are you?”

“Attack!” Tian Qi didn’t bother responding and acted immediately.

A mass of tentacles spread from beneath the crimson robes, dispersing echoes of the Flesh Gospel, which made the Lamp God’s ugly face momentarily stiffen.

“Make your last wish, quick!” He knew he was doomed. He had intended to surprise the other, but the other had surprised him instead.

Why did he do this? Naturally, it was to show off, but he hadn’t expected that Tian Qi would completely break the usual pattern. Wasn’t this the moment to reveal one’s powerful backer?

However, before the man could gather himself to speak, the Lamp God noticed numerous tentacles emerging from inside him, devouring him instantly into a boneless, dried corpse.

After consuming the man, these worm-like tentacles then set their sights on the Lamp God.

But the Lamp God was not made of flesh and blood. He emitted streams of air and fire, which directly expelled the worm-like tentacles.

However, before he could make his next move, Tian Qi had already closed the distance, his body’s tentacles entwining and the immense force making it impossible for him to struggle.

The Lamp God’s expression carried anger, and his fire spread out as if burning with the sacred fire of the world.

Because his three wishes were incomplete, his strength had only recovered two-thirds of its potential. Moreover, due to the death of the wish-maker, he was weakened and unable to fully exert his power.

This was not his limitation but rather a restriction placed on him by a court magician using other Lords of Hell years ago.

Indeed, it was Leviathan. Otherwise, how could he suffer such humiliation? As the King of Hell walking in the Mortal World, his strength was quite formidable.

The flames landed on Tian Qi and the Evangelical Spirit Monster but had little effect.

Instead, a massive amount of Magic Power transformed into the Gospel continuously infiltrated the Lamp God’s mind, disrupting his thoughts.

“Weak, too weak. If you had hidden for one more day, I would have left. But you insisted on presenting yourself, foolish creature,” Tian Qi said disdainfully as a large amount of magic accompanied by the Evangelist bombarded the Lamp God.

In that instant, the Lamp God’s body stiffened, the fire and air composing his body showing signs of dissipating. If he were hit again, he would indeed be killed.

But though he tried to speak, he simply couldn’t. Countless tentacles were weaving through his body, consuming him.

Fortunately, the opponent seemed to loosen the tentacles. He fell helplessly and was then thoroughly bound.

“Aren’t you going to kill him?” Luo Sang hurriedly said. He hadn’t expected the Lamp God to be so weak, hardly lasting a few moments before being subdued and beaten to this state.

Observing the bizarre movement beneath the Lamp God’s surface, he felt a chill. These minions of Hell were indeed no saints.

“I don’t need your instructions to do my job,” Tian Qi said calmly, completely disregarding Luo Sang’s words.

Qin Muye must stay alive. To kill just because you say so?

And explain to him? To put it bluntly, who does Luo Sang think he is, that I should have to explain myself to him?

Is it because he’s been so unhelpful along the way that I owe him an explanation? He’s just a liaison. These past few days, he thinks I will just do whatever he asks. Does he really think I’m so foolish that I can’t see what he’s plotting?

He simply wants to take this opportunity to either have me and the Lamp God kill each other or both be injured.

Luo Sang’s animosity toward us is quite obvious.

Luo Sang looked displeased but didn’t pursue the matter further. Instead, he said, “Then your mission is completed, you can go back. We will handle the Lamp God, you can’t handle it.”

Clearly, if the Lamp God were to fall into the hands of the Ruby King, something unfavorable to them might happen. Naturally, they needed to come over and then securely manage it.

“…” Tian Qi looked at the boy, unable to comprehend whether he couldn’t understand human speech or what the issue was.

Where did the Hell Church get the audacity to expect him to work for free? Did they really think he was one of the Hell Church’s minions?

Tian Qi didn’t even plan to deal with Luo Sang, instead, he grabbed the Lamp God and left. He was right to go back, but it wasn’t supposed to intersect with the Hell Church.

“You can’t leave, I…”

Luo Sang was both shocked and furious. He had intended to stop the other, but was knocked to the ground by Tian Qi and could only watch helplessly as the other left.

“No, I must notify the Church quickly to intercept them; if the Lamp God is taken back to the Crimson Ruby Hell, it will be too late,” Luo Sang said as he watched Tian Qi and the Evangelical Spirit Monster leave, struggling to his feet and picking up the phone to make a call.

At this moment, the phone resembled more of a beeper. Although it was odd due to how the technological tree had developed, it was still there.

“Priest Luo Sang, what is the matter?” a voice from a red-robed Priest came through the phone.

The tone was very cold, filled with a sense of distance.

But Luo Sang didn’t notice that and hurriedly explained the situation.

“I understand. I’ll be right there; wait for me at your current location,” the red-robed Priest said abruptly and then hung up.

Initially, Luo Sang was pleasantly surprised, thinking that with the red-robed Priest personally handling it, those Hell minions couldn’t possibly escape.

But as he regained his senses, he noticed something was off. First of all, why ask him to wait there instead of ambushing these Hell minions along the anticipated route?

However, due to the other’s status and being a red-robed Priest himself, although he was anxious, there was nothing he could do.

Just as he was pondering, a sudden, loud sound echoed. In the abandoned warehouse, Luo Sang’s head was instantly crushed into fragments by some tremendous force, red and white matter scattered everywhere, and the headless body fell.

Soon after, a faint fire consumed his body, burning flesh and bones into piles of indistinguishable ashes.

Outside the abandoned warehouse, the red-robed Priest’s face bore a warm smile, “I wonder if the Lamp God, this gift, might satisfy Your Excellency, the King of the Crimson Ruby Hell?”

Tian Qi stopped in his tracks and looked at the old man nearby, then his expression softened, “Satisfied, thank you, red-robed Priest. If you have more gifts like this, we’re happy to take them all.”

“This gift is only a part. The real gift is the Lamp God Hell. I suppose you also know, one hell can devour another. However…” the red-robed Priest said, halting halfway without continuing.

“You’re looking for more Demon Crystals?” Tian Qi immediately guessed the other’s thought.

“No, our Hell Church needs a larger share. After all, if your hell devours the Lamp God Hell, the production of Demon Crystals will surely increase,” the red-robed Priest explained.

A person’s kickback can’t compare to the share of a force. Since he’s a high-ranking, he truly isn’t short of such small kickbacks. As long as there are more shares, then obviously, he will get more. If there are kickbacks, that’s naturally even better.

“I cannot decide this,” Tian Qi said. He was not a schemer; he wouldn’t make any promises for Qin Muye. With this statement, the red-robed Priest felt somewhat embarrassed, was this accepting benefits without doing the work?

“However, I will report to my lord. This gift might serve as part of the trade, and the share issue should be no problem,” he added.

The following words from Tian Qi made the red-robed Priest’s demeanor much better. He understood that the Hell minion before him wasn’t like those who had negotiated with his power before; he wouldn’t make promises lightly.

But his words definitely carried weight.

“Well said, this is the entrance to the Lamp God Hell. Your Excellency, you may go anytime,” saying this, the red-robed Priest handed over a map drawn on parchment.

The map was clearly old, and Tian Qi, therefore, didn’t hesitate, accepting it directly.

“Thank you, red-robed Priest. I still need to report back, so I can’t delay. Please excuse me,” Tian Qi said as he tucked the map into his chest and gestured towards the Lamp God.

“Please!” The red-robed Priest stepped aside, indicating Tian Qi should leave without further ceremony.

Seeing this, Tian Qi didn’t say much more. He swiftly left. Though the other was showing goodwill, what if it was part of some deceitful scheme?

It was better to be cautious and leave quickly, else, what if something unexpected happened on the way?
