Chapter 210: Chapter 212: Eldest Son – Wisdom Tree
“`
The massacre was imminent, and the Wood Elves had no defense whatsoever; the Spirit Monsters working simply drew weapons from within their Stone Statue Ghost Armor and hacked the surrounding Wood Elves to death on the spot.
Heroes of the Spirit Monsters, led by Tian Qi and Demon Blood, advanced towards the Wisdom Tree, casting an interwoven array of magic that took the Wisdom Tree completely by surprise.
Seeing this, the Wisdom Tree knew its actions had been exposed. As for whether he had successfully schemed against Qin Muye, he had no idea, as he could not see through the reality inside the Floating City. Nevertheless, he started to fight back… only to get hit by a cannon blast.
A large wound appeared on his trunk, oozing sap that began to heal, but the roar of cannon fire and the interspersed laser beams left the Wisdom Tree utterly unable to respond.
“A mere group of Spirit Monsters dares to strike at the progeny of the great race’s Mother—from the lowly Mage’s creations to those who dare injure the noble firstborn of Kusun!!!”
The bellowing of the Wisdom Tree sounded like impotent fury; the power of the Ancient God started to boil within him, his once green body turning to ashen grey as his flexible branches began to rigidify, turning into tough, tentacle-like appendages.
He was trying to revert to his identity as the son of the Ancient God.
Regrettably, it was too late; the Wisdom Tree had overestimated himself and underestimated the strength of the Lords in “Lord Era.”
Moreover, the enemy was advancing towards Rank 7. Previously with no life-threatening danger, there was no reason to ascend to Rank 7. Now, with his life nearly beaten out of him, he hadn’t expected a mere Rank 4 to possess such strength.
Now, he could no longer care that ascending to Rank 7 would consume the essence of the Magic Continent; his priority was to eliminate this peculiarly powerful group of Spirit Monsters.
But soon, he realized all the Spirit Monsters had retreated, even the Spirit Monster Heroes besieging him vanished the moment he began advancing towards Rank 7.
He wasn’t an idiot—he knew something was amiss and could not help a sinking feeling in his heart—but with the arrow already nocked, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and continue pressing on towards Rank 7.
Even though his former power far exceeded Rank 7, he was unlike the Lords who ascended simply by completing tasks. As a native, he suffered numerous disadvantages in this regard.
Looking up at the enormous Floating City above him, he could see a terrifying energy gradually filling up.
The next moment, a barrage of crimson, gemstone-like projectiles, each spanning a hundred meters and dragging long tails of flame, rained down towards him.
A spatial distortion followed immediately, and the Floating City that had been suspended above him instantaneously moved away.
“No!!!”
The missiles hit their target with precision; what seemed like physical movement was actually a treacherous space-targeted deployment. Released one second and arriving in the embrace of the Wisdom Tree before it could react, it had no time to respond.
All the missiles exploded, unleashing tremendous force.
The barrage was not composed of just one type of missile but mixed with Crimson Fission Bombs, Hell Fusion Cluster Bombs, Element Annihilation Devices, Magic Corrosive Phosphorus Fire Bombs, and various other ammunitions.
It’s not just about the Wisdom Tree—if the True Dragon Emperor were to be hit by such firepower, even if it didn’t kill him, he’d lose half his life. What more for a mere Wisdom Tree?
He was only ascending from Rank 6 to Rank 7, not a true Rank 7. For Qin Muye, obliterating him with this firepower was child’s play.
And if he did reach Rank 7?
Then… Qin Muye would just switch targets. The scenario of defeating the young to face the older would not happen to the protagonist, but it could certainly happen to a villain like Qin Muye.
He would directly call upon Hades in the Netherworld King Palace. If that didn’t work, he would appeal to Gaia.
[A glorious battle…]

[You have obtained a Golden Treasure Chest (Hero)]
[…]
“Damn, I finally got a Golden Treasure Chest, but it was way too hard.”
Many Ancient God’s Minions had been killed in the cleaning operation, and there were treasure chests, but most were Bronze, a few Silver, and even the occasional cursed Black Iron, probably because of too much bullying.
Moreover, they lacked the Hero suffix, so there really wasn’t anything good inside; not even worth reporting to the higher-ups from the perspective of an underling.
“`
“Which means, any treasure chests dropped by the progeny of the racial mother for the current me are definitely Golden Treasure Chests with a heroic suffix,” he mused.
Analyzing the two Golden Treasure Chests he had obtained, they could roughly be equated to Random Dungeon Scrolls. Whether there were other items inside, Qin Muye wasn’t sure; with this chest, he had now acquired three in total.
He let Blackhand open the treasure chest. Despite the sinister sound of Blackhand’s name, his hands were anything but dirty.
“Master… it’s not a Random Dungeon Scroll, it’s a Territory Ascension Scroll,” Blackhand said, his countenance grim.
He then handed the Territory Ascension Scroll to Qin Muye.
[Territory Ascension Scroll·Wisdom Tree (Epic)]
[Usage Requirements: Tree-type territory, Elf Clan, non-Death type, Rank 6 or higher Territory Rank]
[Use to sublimate the nature of territory into a Wisdom Tree and gain new attributes and functions]
Qin Muye looked at the Territory Ascension Scroll, but the restrictions were too strict; he couldn’t use it at all.
“I understand, contact Feiyun, who’s ranked fifth. He’ll definitely be interested. Have him make an offer, starting with the building blueprints for Garden Elves and Fire Spirit Monsters, then we can discuss the price,” Qin Muye instructed as he handed the scroll back to Blackhand.
This item wasn’t a book, but rather a piece of heartwood, which likely came from a Wisdom Tree.
Thus, keeping it as a collectible was pointless. It would be better to trade it for something else. Feiyun was part of the Elf Clan and his territory was a tree; as for not being Rank 6, that was none of Qin Muye’s concern.
In other words, the other party couldn’t possibly resist the requirements of the Territory Ascension Scroll. Garden Elves and Fire Spirit Monsters were the base offer. These two types of creatures were closely related to Spirit Monsters, which could help Qin Muye with cross-referencing.
It would take ages to collect these by himself; it was better to let Feiyun do it for him.
As for the trade, the blueprints for these two troop types were the base, without which there was no point in discussing further. Only with these could negotiations proceed.
As for anything else, without this foundation, no matter how good the offers were, Qin Muye wouldn’t trade. He would rather keep them for his collection than exchange them for other items.
For him, there wasn’t really anything urgently needed.
And what about Dungeon Scrolls? Even if Feiyun had them, Qin Muye wouldn’t exchange for them. He was tempted, yes, but he didn’t have any scrolls to exchange, as most had been used already.
“Yes, Master, I will take care of it immediately,” Blackhand replied, relieved as he took the heartwood, calculating how to get a good deal in the trade.
But Qin Muye’s thoughts were elsewhere: Where were the other offspring of the racial mother?
The Wisdom Tree was the eldest son, but not an only son. There had to be other hidden progeny; otherwise, how could the Wisdom Tree alone exert influence across the entire Magic Continent?
Moreover, their attributes and talents had to be disguised or hidden; otherwise, if his Reconnaissance Skill couldn’t detect them, how could other lords’ skills fail to notice?
Unfortunately, the memories bestowed by the Wisdom Tree were incomplete; the knowledge was complete, though, with nine parts true and one part false, all to obscure the memory of the racial mother within.
Providing entirely fabricated knowledge would have been risky, as Qin Muye could have easily discerned the discrepancy, causing unforeseen complications if he decided to take action. One must invest to achieve one’s goals.
For the Wisdom Tree, as long as Qin Muye glimpsed the racial mother, he would likely become tainted and turn into a minion of the Ancient Gods.
Unfortunately for the Wisdom Tree, however, the bloodline Qin Muye had crafted was fiercely wild, thwarting its plan and entrapping itself instead.
The memories of the other offspring of the racial mother were naturally incomplete, stemming from a very ancient time when there were no race gods, only the one Innate God, the racial mother.
It was something like a twisted version of the Earth Mother Goddess Gaia, except this maternal figure was far stronger than Gaia. All the races of the Magic Continent, including magic power and elements, were born from Her. Before that, elements had life, and so did magic power.
This situation arose due to the World Energy Level falling, coupled with the racial mother’s death.
“Another thing, find a way to locate the remaining offspring of the racial mother—they all represent Golden Treasure Chests,” Qin Muye instructed Blackhand once more.
Such tasks, of course, were for his subordinate Spirit Monsters to handle, while he awaited the results. He couldn’t possibly take action himself—where would he find the time? He had a huge list of experiments to attend to. By now, his territory was a complete system with skilled Spirit Monster heroes and exclusive troops in every profession.
It was impossible for Qin Muye to investigate every small matter personally.
