Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Level 20 Advance Quest
Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Level 20 Advance Quest
?
[You have reached Level 20, and an advancement mission is now issued to you.]
[Mission Requirements: Have 5 Hero units under your command (4/5), destroy 5 organizations with a Rank Evaluation of 2 (0/5), upgrade territory to Rank 3 (2/3), and have 10,000 elite troops (1100/10000).]
[Mission Rewards: Talent Ascension x1, +1 to Profession Slot]
"Level 20, the difficulty of advancing has skyrocketed, those Lords above Rank 3 are not to be trifled with," Qin Muye glanced at the advancement mission, considering the number of heroes, display of power, territory rank, elite troops evaluations, and so on, wondering just how difficult future Level 30 advancement missions could be.
Fortunately, the current mission isn't too hard, the only challenging part is to destroy 5 organizations, and they have to be at Rank 2 evaluation.
What to say, the previous Dwarf gathering area can only be considered a Rank 1 evaluation, and even the Harpy nest barely reached the Champion evaluation of Rank 1.
An organization's evaluation isn't solely about heroes and troops; even if they are very important, an organization cannot be considered as such if it only consists of heroes and troops.
"Master, have you received an advancement mission?" Tian Qi wriggled the tentacles underneath him and silently approached.
Qin Muye nodded, having just finished the campaign against the Harpy nest, in which Tian Qi had naturally participated. Without him, the victory might not have been so easy.
"Yes, I have. It's not very difficult, but destroying 5 Rank 2 organizations is a bit troublesome," Qin Muye replied.
A Rank 2 force isn't actually that strong. If other factors are set aside, the Harpy nest could at least reach the strength of a Rank 3 organization. But even so, after being weakened by dark whispers, preventing them from flying, and the addition of Tian Qi's Flesh Parasite, the scene was quite spectacular.
Beneath the skin of every Harpy writhed tentacles that continuously devoured their flesh and blood, causing severe pain and consuming life force, inflicting additional damage.
Since there were no rules now, these Harpies were not undead and naturally felt pain and had morale.
"Five organizations? Maybe it's not too hard," Black Hand entered, having previously been arranging for his subordinates to scour the Harpy nest.
Inside the nest lay numerous bones of different races, all captured for breeding purposes, naturally mixed with some treasures.
There were live captives this time, one of the Harpy heroes who had defended the nest brought in.
Now tied up and confined with Ex, it was somewhat discordant.
In contrast to the cooperative Cave People, this Harpy seemed far more barbaric, which caused it to take quite a few beatings until it softened up after being battered.
Black Hand didn't bother with it, as for the Harpy hero, it's just a matter of time before it ends up in Qin Muye's lab-what else could it be used for, defection?
From the beginning, the entire foundation had not required defection; the entire army consisted of Spirit Monsters, a beast-like people.
Of course, Elves would have been even better. If it happened to be an Elf team, both heroes and non-heroes could be captured, for the Mage's infatuation with Elves could be described as insane.
Qin Muye had no such thoughts, after all, he had never even seen an Elf, and he wasn't a racist. Whether Elves or Cave People, they could all end up in the lab.
"It's not that hard, just time-consuming. If we want to finish it, it would be better to go back to the Land of the Undead rather than this Underworld, despite its living creatures, as it lacks a systematic structure," Qin Muye knew that unless he went to attack the big cities of the Underworld, places like gathering areas, nests, and tribes wouldn't even come close to the evaluation mark.
On the other hand, the various undead cities of the Land of the Undead, though inhabited by Undead, had cities formed by their living habits that were sufficient for a Rank 2 evaluation.
"In that case, let's return to the Land of the Undead first, then..." Black Hand immediately altered the course of action; to a Spirit Monster, the master's matters were of utmost importance.
"No rush, let's gather the Skeleton Soldiers first. My advancement mission isn't important; I just need it to meet the conditions for ranking up the territory," Qin Muye declined.
He could take his time with the advancement mission. Even with a high level, he would still be nothing but a hollow frame with Magic Power, with no combat ability.
If it was still manageable at Rank 1, now he couldn't keep up at all, whether it was in terms of combat awareness or fighting pace, he was completely out of his depth, even neglecting various magics and instead focusing on learning and researching.
Ascending would indeed allow his Lord Talent to rise again, but it was meaningless for the moment since he wasn't in his territory but outside. It wouldn't matter even if it was completed later.
In fact, once all other conditions were met and the territory upgraded to Rank 3, he could complete it then, as it would be even easier.
"Yes, Master."
"Oh, and we found four Element Cores in the Harpy's nest, quite a few in total-thirty cores. Also, there was a Bidirectional Teleportation Gate that leads somewhere unknown," Black Hand had no objections to Qin Muye's decision and proceeded to report some findings.
The haul from the Harpy nest was much greater than the one from the Dwarf gathering place, especially in terms of treasures and resources.
"Question that Harpy about where those Element Cores came from, and find out about the Bidirectional Teleportation Gate as well," Qin Muye casually instructed.
Black Hand was already on it, but Qin Muye chose to reiterate the orders anyway.
"Yes, Master!"
"In the future, for matters like this, just make the decisions. I'm only interested in the results, not how they come about. You can be bold with external affairs as long as they don't involve our territory personnel; there's no need to consult me." Qin Muye knew one thing: if he wasn't capable, he had to learn to delegate and make use of others.
Otherwise, if he insisted on taking charge despite his inadequacy, it would only spoil things.
"I understand, Master."
"Another thing, my advancement mission still requires one more Hero unit, and the formation of 10,000 elite troops. Arrange that for me."
"Arrange for several Professions for the hero. I'll complete it quickly once back. As for the
elite formation, don't fixate on the exact number, just decide what feels appropriate and arrange it. If there aren't enough Spirit Monsters, you can continue building factories for recruitment."
Qin Muye was worried that Black Hand might stick to arranging only one Hero slot and exactly 10,000 elite troops, which would be awkward, so he added further clarification to prevent any additional trouble later on.
